Book A Stay

Four Seasons Los Cabos At Costa Palmas is one of the best luxury hotels in Los Cabos. A number of clients who book through our luxury travel concierge have asked me for reviews of Four Seasons Los Cabos, as the availability of lengthy reviews outlining this resort is sparse or non-existent online, so far.

So, in this review, I have combined the comments and reviews from our many clients who have already stayed here to give everyone a full picture of this fabulous resort. It should definitely be added to your bucket list this year.

Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas marks the third addition to the company’s growing Mexican collection, which currently includes properties in Punta Mita and Mexico City. The Resort joins an exclusive collection of Four Seasons resorts in destinations including the Maldives, Seychelles, Bora Bora, Koh Samui, and Hawaii.

Why Are So Many Of Our Clients Staying Here?

If you love a Four Seasons hotel, you will love Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas. In fact, our client, Mike, described his stay here as “a marvelous vacation for my wife and us, and I will continue to highly recommend Four Seasons and luxury travel concierge. We have previously stayed at Four Seasons resorts in Austin, Texas, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Las Vegas.”

This sleek and contemporary Resort features 141 guest rooms, including 23 suites. Guests enjoy five dining options, including world-renowned estiatorio Milos; multiple retail experiences; a sports complex and fitness center; many expansive pools; Oasis Spa and Wellness Centre; a teen center and Kids for All Seasons program, as well as multiple unique indoor/outdoor celebration spaces.

Four Seasons Los Cabos At Costa Palmas encompasses over two miles of beach, and this beach is much, much calmer than the beach facing the Pacific, which is often unusable. This is why we think this is the best luxury hotel in Los Cabos vs. Las Ventanas or One & Only Palmilla . Add in the views are of the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range, which the resort is designed to take advantage of, and you will be hard-pressed to find a more ridiculously romantic luxury hotel in Los Cabos or the world.

Book via our concierge to get free benefits added to your booking at no extra cost, even if the rate is a special offer rate, such as four nights for the price of three or three nights for the price of two promotion.

Location

Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is now one of the best Four Seasons in the world. This all-new ultra-luxury resort is situated in Baja’s undiscovered East Cape on two miles (3.2 kilometers) of pristine beachfront within the private beachfront community of Costa Palmas. The hotel is quite far from the strip of high rise hotels and other luxury resorts in Cabo.

Just 45 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and a world away from the Cabo crowds, the extensive grounds of the resort are connected to an adjacent yachting marina that features up to two hundred slips to accommodate yachts up to 250 feet (76 meters) and its own ocean-side marina village, complete with artisanal boutiques, additional dining options, and locally-curated music and art.

The East Cape’s location of this Four Seasons, on the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Sea of Cortez, makes for excellent snorkeling and diving, some of the world’s best light tackle and sport fishing, and world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding.

The idyllic setting at the base of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains also offers endless opportunities for land adventure, from hiking, biking, and horseback riding to exploring waterfalls, spring-fed freshwater pools, and hot springs.

Four Seasons Los Cabos is in fact just down the beach from the new Amanvari Los Cabos. This luxury vacation development brings a whole new level of luxury to Los Cabos, making this the number one spot to choose, both for your couples break or honeymoon and for a family holiday with the kids.

Four Seasons and Amanvari have a huge advantage over many other luxury hotels around Los Cabos. Hotels that face the rough Pacific are disadvantaged as you are often confined to using the hotel pool rather than swimming in the sea. The Sea of Cortez in front of this Four Seasons hotel offers calm waters and great snorkeling, everything you need from paradise!

If you decide to rent a car, a major bonus of this Four Seasons is that the valet car parking is currently free of charge.

Arrival

Fly into San José del Cabo International Airport (SJD), and the drive to the hotel takes about 1 hour. When you reach the lobby, you will notice it is open-air and is designed to take advantage of the far-reaching views over the ocean, mountains with the pools in the foreground. Enjoy a drink and a cool towel while you wait to be checked in.

The resort features a low-density layout spread across multiple buildings and a collection of whole-ownership oceanfront, marina-side, and golf-side private residences, as well as an intimate collection of custom single-family beachfront private residence villas.

Staff

According to our client Mike, “Check out and review of charges went very well. In addition to being very accommodating and professional, the front desk staff was very efficient and accurate calculating final charges.”

“I particularly would like to commend Matt… I was impressed that at the end of our stay, we were approached by a supervisor (sorry I don’t recall his name) who asked for my feedback in a very sincere manner and seemed genuinely interested in hearing about areas of improvement.”

Rooms

The entry-level Ocean-View Room is extremely large and spacious for a standard room. It offers 680 square feet of space and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the vistas of the Sea of Cortez.

Within the room is a superbly comfy king bed and a pull-out sofa that can sleep two children. The terrace is also magnificent, with a large and a small rattan sofa seat with cushions and a glass-fronted balcony, so you have a perfect view across the grounds and gardens and out to sea, whether you are sitting down or standing up.

Even the large bathroom with its free-standing tub offers the same magnificent views, and remember, this is the standard room. These “base” rooms are found on the middle floor of the three-story buildings that make up the resort. Higher floors boast even better vistas but cost more.

My favorite rooms at Four Seasons Los Cabos are, in fact, on the ground floor and feature private plunge pools. My client Mike had one of these and said, “We particularly enjoyed the privacy and incredibly easy access to the beach and pool, as well as the plunge pool. We have previously experienced Four Seasons beach resorts in Costa Rica, the Bahamas, and Punta Mita-The Cabo patio/pool/beach access and privacy was the best ever.”

Pool

Our client Mike said, “The poolside service was superb.” Certainly, with numerous swimming pools, you are spoilt for choice. Some are specifically for families with kids. Others are adults-only, so you will be able to find the perfect spot.

Beach

The Four Seasons Los Cabos beach stretches two miles. If you keep walking in one direction, you will come to the new AMAN hotel, which is also a top-notch hotel that is about to open in the area. The most noteworthy thing about this beach, beyond the golden sand and immaculate presentation, is that the beach is swimmable, unlike most other hotels in Cabo. Many luxury hotels are on beaches facing the Pacific with strong tides and waves, making them unsafe to swim and a complete nightmare if you are traveling with small children.

If you want to swim off the beach, this Four Seasons is undoubtedly one of your best choices.

Golf & Gym

If you are a golfer or a gym bunny, you will also be spoilt. There’s a Robert Trent Jones II signature 18-hole golf course, a sports and activities center with fitness equipment, a volleyball court, a basketball court, and two tennis courts. You can also go sailing from the Costa Palmas Marina.

Restaurants & Bars

Estiatorio Milos is the fine dining establishment that specializes in seafood. The restaurant is directly on the beach and is where you have your stylish buffet breakfast too. Casa de Brasa serves Mexican food by the pool, with tequila (if you wish).

Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos also ticks the box for the best bar with a view of El Puesto, which looks over the ocean. Ginger’s offers takeaways, or you can order in-room dining 24/7. As with most Four Seasons, kids under five eat free at their restaurants.

Oasis Spa

The spa and facilities and staff have been described by a number of our clients as “A+”. The Spa has 10 treatment rooms, each with an alfresco bit, so you can get your massage inside or outside. The connected Rossano Ferritti Salon has great views of the mountains and will keep you looking stylish.

Kids Club

The kids club is also outstanding, with plenty of activities, including stringing up and bashing goodie-filled piñatas on the beach. There are also babysitting services for a fee.

Negative Points

There is very little to be negative about regarding the Four Seasons Los Cabos. It is worth noting that the steps can be steep without handrails, so more elderly guests may need assistance.

Right now, there is some construction around the resort, but this means that they are offering a 20% off rate plus valuable free excursions and activities, which looks like a good deal.

Best Excursion Outside Beyond The Hotel

You must go to the Cabo San Lucas Waterfall. At the moment, the hotel offers this as a free trip as part of their Discover the East Cape Package. The waterfall is near Santiago, a small pueblo located 46 km north of Los Cabos Airport (SJD), San Jose Del Cabo, Baja Sur. This beautiful waterfall is, in fact, located just inland of Santiago. Follow the signs to a rancho officially called the Rancho Ecológico Sol de Mayo. From the parking area, you can pay a small fee to go to the waterfall. It is breathtaking.

Rates

Rates start at around $600 USD per room per night, sometimes more, but bear in mind what this includes, particularly for a family. There is a complimentary kids’ club, excursions, no charge for a rollaway kids’ bed in your bedroom (which often costs $100+ USD at other luxury resorts), and free kids’ meals.

At the moment, some construction is taking place around the Resort’s exterior, which at times can be seen and heard. Our client Mike said: “As promised, the adjacent construction sites were quiet.”

This is taking place Monday – Friday from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, and there will be no construction on Saturdays or Sundays. As a result, Four Seasons Los Cabos currently has a Discover the East Cape Package in place, offering a 20% discount off the published rates (discount is reflected in the rates extended above) and all on-site and off-site activities on a complimentary basis. Below is an example of what is being extended.
