There is always something a little exciting about discovering a brand new holiday resort that you just know is going to be a huge hit. And the akyra Beach Club in Phuket is a sensational example of this! It’s an exciting concept that works beautifully; a chic, hip beach club located on the very best strip of the stunning Natai Beach in Thailand with a chilled out vibe and a very, very luxurious slant. The Beach Club is just 20 minutes north of Phuket International Airport so in no time at all you can be kitted out in your finest swimwear, shades on, shoes off, lounging on your sun lounger, with, of course, champagne in hand. Flights to Phuket with BA from London Heathrow typically have a brief stopover in Bangkok and take around 12 hours and 40 minutes.
Hotel
The funky beach club is an altogether fabulous part of the resort which also includes two panoramic sea-view restaurants, a swimming pool, function room for up to 100 delegates, a well-equipped gym and a wonderful beach spa. With sophisticated, Thai influenced design throughout, beautiful tropical gardens and of course it’s beachfront location, you really will feel as though you’ve stumbled across a little piece of heaven. Akyra’s big sister, Aleenta is just down the beach and guests can take advantage of the facilities there. Both hotels are members of the Akaryn Hotel Group whose demonstrate a passionate and innovative approach across their growing portfolio of stunning hotels.
Rooms
The resort includes 59 rooms, with 42 being rooms or suites and 17 unique and rather special villas. All rooms are spacious and include either a large private balcony or garden terrace. Rooms sizes vary from 40 m² Garden Rooms to 46-50 m² Deluxe Suites and 50-60 m² Garden Villas, up to 53 m² Seaview Villas with the fabulous Beachfront Two Bedroom Villas being a huge 125 m². All rooms offer state-of-the-art facilities and include free Wi-Fi, safe, exclusive natural Ayurah bath amenities, plush luxury towels, LCD large-screen TV with cable TV, individually adjusted air-conditioning, natural cotton bathrobes and slippers, a fully stocked mini-bar, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Restaurants & Bars
What’s better than one panoramic sea-view restaurant, why two of course! The cuisine is a mixture of Thai and international and the cocktails are definitely worth sampling, plus of course there’s the champagne!
Pool & Activities
If you tire of hanging out at the beach club and that soft white sand becomes a bit too much (perhaps rather unlikely!) then the freeform pool is a magnificent alternative, with a pool bar alongside to ensure that you stay refreshed. The resort will also include a spa and with its adult playground theme there will doubtless be many other activities on offer to help pass the time. If you wish to venture out from the resort you will find yourself surrounded by stunning white sandy beaches, with diving and water sports to partake in should you so desire. An indulgent shopping trip may well be in order and the nightlife at Patong is pulsating. For a more sedate, cultured vibe, Phuket Town offers beautiful architecture, local markets and stylish boutiques.
Insider Info
Book soon, the resort is scheduled to open in Q3 of this year and we have a feeling that this one is going to book up fast!
Natai beach is dubbed the “Hamptons” of Phuket and this resort leads the way in barefoot luxury; I’ve no doubt that the akyra Beach Club will very soon be THE place to be seen. So for a romantic escape or a very slightly more grown-up party trip, give the akyra Beach Club a try before the crowds get here!
