Few locations are more suitable for a relaxing break in the beautiful English countryside than the Cotswolds. For your own secluded little hideaway, the The Guest House at Manor Cottage in Bagendon is a must. This is a beautiful self-contained guest house with extensive, unspoiled rural views over one of the ‘lost’ valleys of the Cotswolds, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Taking you less than 2 hours to reach from London, it’s perfect for a long weekend away or why not stay longer and recuperate.

Guest House
A huge 30ft dual-aspect living room is the centerpiece of the light and airy property. A beautiful space with wooden floors and old oak furniture, large French windows lead to the terraces positioned beautifully to catch the sun throughout the day and into the evening; the perfect spot for relaxing with a glass of something! A kitchenette offers a small double hob unit, fridge, Nespresso machine, toaster, and microwave oven. To keep you occupied during your relaxation SKY TV, iPod docks, magazines, cards, games, and free Wi-Fi are all provided. As long as they are well behaved and sheep-proof, dogs are welcomed at no extra charge. The guest house is not suitable for children due to the sharp drops from the terrace and unfenced deep water.

Rooms
The quaint but spacious bedroom can be found right up in the eaves! Featuring a very comfortable king-size bed and oriental rugs, the views of the garden are sensational. The bedding is duck feather and down with organic Indian and Egyptian cotton. There is a well-equipped wet room downstairs.

Dining
Breakfast is served daily cooked by your very friendly host, Sue! This arrangement is flexible; either pop over to her kitchen at Manor Cottage for a farm shop full English, or a more continental breakfast can be served in the Guest House itself. You are also provided with an excellent welcome pack which includes fresh fruit and Prosecco. Evening meals are available by prior arrangement and, for an additional fee, served again over in Manor Cottage, and I’d recommend this option. Who wants to cook on their relaxing holiday! Picnics can also be provided to accompany your local walks. A good range of pubs and restaurants can be found in local Cirencester.

Pool & Activities
A 40ft heated outdoor pool is surrounded by the gorgeous 2-acre garden, planted for scent and color with collections of old-fashioned roses, jasmine, irises, and honeysuckle. Several beautiful walks can be started right from your doorstep; Sue will point you in the right direction. The market town of Cirencester is only 10 minutes away and is steeped in history with its glorious Abbey Church, an award-winning museum, and little boutique shops. On Saturday, they host a Farmers Market. Other nearby attractions include Highgrove Gardens, Westonbirt Arboretum, Chedworth Roman Villa, Cirencester Abbey Church, Gloucester Cathedral, Kiftsgate Gardens, Hidcote Gardens, Sezincote, Sudeley Castle, and Lodge Park.

For a peaceful, secluded spot you couldn’t do better and the views and friendly welcome make this place extra special; The Guest House at Manor Cottage should certainly be on your list for your next English break away.
