I think there’s something rather magical about exploring an area by water; a life on the ocean wave is certainly for me as long as it’s in luxury surroundings and I’m exploring somewhere beautiful. The Yacht
The Yacht is named Yemaya of Helford and is a stunning, beautifully crafted, 50ft Cruiser Racer coded to the highest MCA standards with room for 8 guests but is more comfortable with up to 5. There is something inherently freeing about life at sea, with no timetables, no rules and no one else to worry about, the time is yours to do as you wish, total relaxation – with a view of course. Facilities
Yemaya offers safe performance sailing, exceptional durability and comfortable. She features a spacious saloon area which houses 2 bunk beds and a pilot birth and two private cabins, one with a double and a single bed and the other with a double bed. There are two bathrooms with toilets and en-suite showers with running hot water. There’s also a spacious gallery kitchen and an outdoor dining table for dining under the stars. This really is luxury sailing – there’s even heating and Wi-Fi on board as well as a USB connection for iPods and MP3s in the saloon! All the safety gear that you need is provided and if you wish, particularly if you’re planning a more adventurous sail, you can also hire additional wet weather gear including boots, jackets and salopettes. Free parking is available at the Premier Marina in Falmouth so you can leave your car while you sail, you can also make use of the shower and bathroom facilities, laundry facilities and the Marina bar and restaurant.
Dining
They are more than happy to provide lunch and don’t assume because you’re on a boat this will be basic, the standard is very high and a gourmet picnic is more their style, with wine! Of course, the facilities on board also mean that self-catering is more than possible; the gallery kitchen features a gas hob and oven as well as a fridge freezer. Some trips can be setup to combine a mixture of both – with the food being provided for certain elements of the trip but you are left to your own devices for others.
Activities
The charter experience can very much be tailored to your requirements, it could be that you use it for a luxury sailing holiday, a skippered adventure charter or just a day sail. You can get as hands on as you wish, the skipper is very experienced and knowledgeable and is more than happy to instruct you in the art of sailing – great for novices or those wanting a refresher. The Yemaya is also extremely useful at getting you to places that would be impossible to reach by land; think private sheltered coves which are perfect for sunny picnics. You can also dive off the boat and do some snorkelling or paddle boarding, or just relax on the deck and top up the tan. It’s not even just Cornwall, the yacht can also cruise around the Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands or Brittany
