Book A Hotel

If an unspoiled, crowd-free beach in the Caribbean sounds like the perfect getaway, our luxury travel experts have come up with some inspirational suggestions for the ultimate blissful Caribbean escape.

1. Belize For Beaches, Jungle, Mayan Ruins & The World’s Second Largest Barrier Reef

Belize’s natural beauty rivals some of the world’s most sought-after playgrounds. It borders Mexico to the north and Guatemala to the east and offers glorious beaches on the shores of the sparkling Caribbean sea. Belize is also the only Latin American country whose official language is English, which is useful for travelers from North America and the UK – but so far, it is not overrun by tourists.

Lush jungles with Mayan ruins coupled with pristine beaches and cayes provide endless exploration opportunities in Belize. On the coastline there is no better resort choice than Itz’ana Resort (pictured above) which is about to open. Named after the Mayan god of day and night, Itz’ana offers beachside luxury and the perfect spot to experience the soul of Belize.

This resort is ideally located next to islands, beaches, rivers, jungle, caves, and the world’s second-largest barrier reef. 39 luxury boutique cottages and villas, designed for waterfront living, are set around the “Great House”, an ode to the great Caribbean estates of years past.

Just beyond the heavenly Itz’ana waters awaits an even more blissful escape. Their private island basking under the tropical Belizean sun. Here you can feast on an island picnic, sail a sundown yacht charter or even make it your own overnight campsite. And with the barrier reef as your backyard and pristine waters lapping on the shore, it’s a truly special island getaway.

2. Jet Set Luxury In St Barts

The little island of St Barts is known to attract the rockstar glitterati. It is easily the most exclusive of the Caribbean Islands and comes with a distinctly French flavor.

The sun rarely doesn’t shine on St Barts, with temperatures of 20ºC to 33ºC. The peak season is Thanksgiving to March, climaxing during the two-week Christmas/New Year period when prices rocket and you need a billionaires wallet or hefty fund managers portfolio to indulge in a slice of this perfect emerald isle.

Stay at Le Sereno, an intimate beachfront hotel and spa, combining simplicity, elegance, and five-star service in 37 suites and three spacious villas all overlooking Grand Cul de Sac, the bite-shaped cove on the eastern coast. Here, natural materials and linens contrast with dark woods that offset the spectacular views of the turquoise Caribbean sea. 80% of their rooms are beach-front rooms and all are situated at sea level as well as the restaurant, spa, and gym. Three unique Sereno Villas also grace the grounds with 3 bedrooms each, stunning views, and private pools. The views are pure Caribbean: turquoise bays and low hills dotted with houses the color of sugared almonds.

The beaches on St Barts are peaceful, pristine, and white sand. There are no crowds here as the prices are so high. Unspoiled, exclusive beaching is what this island is all about.

3. Remote White Sand Beaches on Turks & Caicos

It is no secret that Aman Resorts is one of our favorite luxury hotel brands and Amanyara is certainly one of the best luxury hotels in the world.

You will find some of the best beaches in the world on Turks and Caicos Islands and Amanyara resort is located along the pristine reefs of Northwest Point Marine National Park, acclaimed for some of the world’s best wall and reef diving. As you would expect from an Aman hotel, Amanyara feels ultra-exclusive and offers a slick escape of silvery-topped pavilions, chic teak terraces, shaded loungers, centered on a huge infinity pool designed using volcanic rock with a conical bar. The overall feel is Asia in the Caribbean with a Zen and peaceful feel, many miles away from the jolly and colorful resorts on islands like Jamaica.

4. Yet More Pristine White Sand Beaches On Another Island In Turks & Caicos

Turks & Caicos is an archipelago of 40 low-lying coral islands and has so many perfect and empty beaches that we felt it was worth a second mention, largely for the exclusive Como Parrot Cay hotel which also features in our best luxury resorts of the Caribbean. Once a wild, uninhabited island, now a luxury, whitewashed wellness retreat, this colorful Caribbean destination is popular with the honeymooning A-list. This private Caicos island boutique hotel has an award-winning spa and a mile of unspoiled, uninhabited, and unforgettable beach. The private island offers over 1,000 unspoiled acres edged with a powdery soft beach. All rooms and suites have whitewashed interiors furnished with soft, cotton-covered chairs, airy four-poster beds, and teak furnishing. Private villas have their own pools and direct beach access. And yes, this beach is definitely crowd-free!

5. Miles & Miles Of Unspoiled Beach In Nicaragua

Although Nicaragua is bordered by the Caribbean to the east, there are some unbelievable beaches that can be found on its Pacific coast to the west. In fact, if unspoiled beaches are your dream, you will not beat Nicaragua, and although this coast is not strictly in the Caribbean, my hotel choice of Hacienda & Ecolodge Morgan’s Rock is as crowd-free as beach resorts come.

Located on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, Hacienda & Ecolodge Morgan’s Rock sits on the edge of a 4,000-acre expanse of Nicaraguan jungle and on the shores of the most idyllic golden sand beach. In this private protected reserve, you can enjoy this private beach bordered by unspoiled lush jungle, along with all its associated wildlife.

Fifteen exquisite bungalows, constructed of natural materials are tucked gracefully into the jungle (nearly all of these bungalows boast a gorgeous view of the hacienda’s private beach). Set into the treetops, each three-sided bungalow is perched on a cliff 30-100 feet over the private beach and cove, just across a 50-yard jungle suspension bridge. The balcony is a highlight, with a queen size day bed suspended by a thick marine rope. Enjoy a morning coffee, a glass of wine with the sunset, or a well-deserved nap in your day bed while soaking in stunning vistas and unparalleled wildlife. Expect to see howler monkeys, languorous sloths hanging from the trees, and a variety of vibrant tropical birds.

The mile-long stretch of sandy beach is great for surfing or bodyboarding during the day, strolls in the evenings, and beach bonfires at night. The star-lit beach is also the perfect place to witness baby turtle hatchlings scurrying out to sea – a truly unforgettable experience!
