Mandarin Oriental is returning to Hawaii in a new Honolulu tower next to Ala Moana Shopping Centre, on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. The hotel will be a short walk from Waikiki Beach and it will also be adjacent to the Hawaii Convention Centre.
Location
The Mandarin Oriental, Honolulu will be the anchor of Mana`olana Place, a 36-story mixed-use tower with gardens and public plazas, currently being developed by Los Angeles-based Salem Partners.
The Mandarin Oriental Honolulu Hotel and Residences is set to open in mid-2024, delayed from its original opening targets of 2021 and then 2022.
Style & Character
It’s an exciting new development since, apart from the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Waikiki, which debuted in 2018, there’s been such limited new build when it comes to Honolulu luxury hotels. Even the Four Seasons Ko Olina, in Kapolei, was a renovation of the prior JW Marriott property.
Rooms
The hotel will have 125 hotel rooms and is designed to reflect the Hawaiian culture. It will also house over a hundred residences. The owners of the residential apartments will be able to use hotel services.
Service & Facilities
Mandarin Oriental, Honolulu will feature a rooftop restaurant and bar with landscaped outdoor terraces, providing views of Diamond Head, Ala Moana Beach, and Downtown Honolulu. There will also be a lobby lounge, an all-day dining restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a holistic spa, and extensive banqueting and meeting spaces with views over the surrounding terraces and gardens.
