Nusa Dua is derived from the two small islands on Bali’s eastern shoreline. Here, immaculate green manicured lawns front world-class hotels, which are nestled within this luxury enclave. Also on offer is an upmarket shopping complex, an 18-hole golf course, and golden sandy beaches. This pristine resort also houses many temples, a museum, and many other attractions. Nusa Dua is gated and offers a secluded base for your holiday, away from the chaos of the rest of the island.
January is the hottest and also the wettest month in Bali, with temperatures averaging 28°C (82°F). July is the coolest month, averaging 26°C (78°F). You can, therefore, expect a warm, tropical climate all year around but with more rain in November, December, January, and February. The best time to travel to Bali is April, May, June and September, just before and just after high season (which falls in July and August). In these months it is still the dry season, so it is slightly less humid, and room prices and villa rental prices are reduced.
Location
Located within the exclusive and serene five-star beach resort enclave of Bali’s famous southern peninsula, Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort is a sumptuous retreat within close reach of Bali’s tranquil eastern coastline.
The resort is a 15 minutes drive via toll road from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International. There are flights from the UK via Doha on Qatar Airways, and we are massive fans of the new Qatar QSuite Business Class seat so this is a great airline to choose.
Style & Character
Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua mixes French elegance with Balinese culture in a lavish 5-star beachfront location. The resort also offers gorgeously landscaped pools and 8 hectares of tropical gardens bordered by an immaculate stretch of white sand on the edge of the Indian Ocean.
The gardens are incredibly well maintained, and the beach is just as perfect as you would imagine in a resort of this caliber. The modern architecture of the resort gives it a sophisticated ambiance and you can take leisurely walks along leafy pathways to get around.
Service & Facilities
The pool is ‘lazy river’ in style, meandering under bridges and ending up at the main pool area. It is the perfect place to cool off unless you prefer to laze on the beautiful beach which borders the resort.
The exceptional SoSPA at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort will help you unwind with soothing treatments and anti-aging treatments.
Their kids club is ideal for younger guests if you can drag them away from the pool. There are also 12 function rooms, including a grand ballroom and a ballroom with ocean views, along with a SoFIT fitness center.
Rooms
The resort offers a collection of 415 well-appointed rooms, including 39 suites and villas. The spacious rooms are beautifully furnished with amazing bathrooms offering a walk-in rain shower and a free-standing bathtub. If you upgrade to a Club Room, you get free food and drink and can use a separate and exclusive pool in the Club Lounge (see more below).
Room tip: If you have kids, upgrade to a pool access room. Your kids will want to leap straight out of bed and into the pool. For more privacy, if you are a couple, you may want to consider a room with a private plunge pool.
Club Lounge: Club Millésime
Upgrading to the Club Millésime rooms, suites and villas offers great value and gives you a quiet and exclusive place to sit, relax, eat and drink. Club Millésime is located on the 1st floor of the hotel’s main building and offers an exclusive lounge and bar with indoor seating. Inspired by the French ‘Art de Recevoir’, this exclusive club features sumptuous breakfast, all-day refreshments, evening canapés, an extensive selection of wines, butler services, and many other special benefits.
Food & Drink
Enchant your taste buds at the resort’s two restaurants and two bars. Take a journey through French cuisine accented with local flavors and specialties. Sofitel chefs ensure memorable gastronomic adventures, while stunning dining rooms invite leisurely meals and offer feasts for your eyes.
Dinner at Kwee Zeen Restaurant is extensive and buffet-style, or for something less formal, enjoy the blend of French flair and beautiful views at Le Bar (the lobby bar). The sleek décor and lively atmosphere make it the perfect place to savor a glass of fine champagne, a house cocktail, or to take part in a Wine Flight tasting session.
Cut Catch Cucina Restaurant is the premier dining destination in the resort. This is a multi-outlet dining experience featuring a steakhouse, an Italian Osteria, and seafood grills. Much of the food is cooked over a Diamond Wood fired oven with a broiler and an antique rotisserie. Cut Catch Cucina offers authentic cuisine from Tuscany and Emilia Romagna. CUT, the steakhouse, offers premium meat cuts with Wagyu, Angus, Kurobuta, and organic poultry. The sea grill features a fish market with the best selections of local seafood and fish grilled on a magic grill or snacked ‘a la plancha’.
LE BAR is the Lobby Bar which serves New Age cocktails, coffees, and light meals. L’OH is the pool bar that serves light bites or creative cocktails to accompany your dip in the azure-blue tiled pool. The breezy seaside lounge is our favorite as it is right on the beach. It is the perfect place to enjoy light snacks and your favorite cocktails. At sundown, there is a barbeque buffet to accompany your drinks at Toya Beach Bar & Grill.
The Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort offers lime green tropical grounds, beautiful pools, and picture-perfect beaches under the Bali sunshine. The colors are amazing, the staff are amazing and always smiling, the meandering tropical pool is amazing, and the beach.. you’ve got it.. is amazing too.
