El Al, Israel’s national airline, has revealed photos and video of its new Business Class cabin for their B787 Dreamliner cabin. This comes after many years of a rather weak El Al Business and First Class offering. As an example, the current First-Class seats do not all have aisle access, and their Business Class is currently not even lie flat. The cabins also look dated and are miles away from offering the luxury of their competitors.

This is all set to change with the new El Al B787 Dreamliner which will offer a stylish cabin, lie-flat seats in Business Class along with a brand new Premium Economy cabin.

The design has been overseen by London-based PriestmanGoode who have also updated the airline’s livery along with new aircraft cabin interiors including Business Class, a new Premium Economy, and Economy Class. Improvements have also been made to the look of the entrance areas and galleys.

The new designs will be rolled out across the airline’s new fleet of Boeing Dreamliner aircraft. Features of the Business Class cabin include 32 fully-flat bed seats, all offering aisle access. El Al is also the first airline in the world to opt for Recaro’s CL6710 seat (a seat design by Acumen and Recaro’s design in-house teams). You can see the look and style in the photos above or the video below.

When you look at the seat map, you will see that business class is in a 1-2-1 configuration, with a total of 32 seats. There will be a premium economy cabin on the 787 in a 2-3-2 configuration, with a total of 28 seats. EL AL won’t have a first-class cabin on the 787.

What Food Can I Expect On El Al In Business Class?

The food on El Al in Business class is not up to the Middle Eastern Airlines which are in a class of their own, but it is pleasant and typical menus include a salad and fresh bread starter, a choice of 3 mains like chicken teriyaki, beef stew and salmon with steamed vegetables and a dessert.

It is worth noting that EL AL’s new business class product will be better than their old first-class product and will now be a real competitor to other Airline Business Class offerings. For now, El Al does not feature in our best ten best airlines for long-haul Business Class, but EL AL will take delivery of their first 787 in September 2017, so it might just be a contender later this year.
