As the nights start to draw in and the sunny days are fewer and further between, my attention naturally shifts to where I’m going to stay this ski season! For some serious luxury, with the beautiful Mont Blanc mountains as your backdrop, check out the seriously luxurious chalets at Les Rives d’Argentiere.
Location
The chalets are situated in the heart of Argentière, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, facing south towards the awe-inspiring Mont Blanc mountains. Geneva Airport lies a scenic hour and 15 minutes away, and an airport transfer service can be provided. The excellent situation of the chalets just couldn’t be more convenient; whether you plan to spend your days’ skiing, visiting the charming town, or just relaxing and enjoying the après-ski scene while savoring the French cuisine, you are close to the center of the town and are walking distance from the famous Les Grands-Montets ski lift. Skiing at partner resorts such as Verbier in Switzerland and Courmayeur in Italy can also be arranged.
Style & Character
There are four chalets in this charming new hamlet spread over 1,250 m², and they are all just incredible, inside and out! This is five-star luxury with an added dose of style; the owner is also the designer and drew on inspiration from his travels when designing the interiors of the chalets; so, Chalet Terre reflects his time in Africa, and Chalet Cristal his time in San Francisco. Chalet Granit offers a relaxed, natural atmosphere, and Chalet Ardoise offers coziness and warmth; the finish in all four is chic and exquisite. The chalets adapt beautifully to the varying seasons. In the winter, the real log fires are cozy and welcoming, and in the summer, the vast terraces, balconies, and outdoor dining areas make the most of the views of Mont Blanc, the glaciers, and the surrounding peaks.
Service & Facilities
The chalet’s facilities are first-class; there’s nowhere better to relax after a busy day on the slopes than in the private hot tub. Enjoy the heated swimming pool in the summer months, and there’s also a fitness suite, sauna, and hammam. The whole family will love the cinema room, and the grown-ups will appreciate its bar! There’s also a library, relaxation room, massage room (to soothe those aching limbs), games room, ski rooms (with heated boot warmers!), a secure underground car park, and a wine cellar; and yes, you will be forgiven for not wanting to leave! The service is fabulous, too. The small team is friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
Rooms
There are 22 bedrooms across all four chalets. Individually they sleep between 10 and 14 people. You can combine two or, even better, combine all four and stay as a fabulous group of 50 of you!
Food & Drink
Basically, there are two options when it comes to food and drink. Either go the self-catering option, which is by no means a hardship. It still includes daily housekeeping and a generous arrival pack; this is a great choice if you wish to explore the bars and restaurants on your doorstep every night and revel in the après-ski. Alternatively, to truly savor your time in the chalet, opt for the luxury catered package and let your private, professional chef prepare all your meals as well as little treats throughout the day. You are welcomed with a Champagne and canapés reception, dinner is a sumptuous 4-course fine dining experience, cocktails are served to you in the hot tub, and breakfast can be taken in bed; basically, prepare for total bliss and to be thoroughly spoilt.
