Luxury Travel Dairy’s writers have flown with Lufthansa a number of times and have reviewed their long-haul flights in First and Business Class. Our trip reports can be found below.
Overall, our most recent Lufthansa Business Class experience on the 747-800 (pictured above) was good but not great. In particular, if you are a single traveler, the proximity to your neighbor may feel intrusive and there are no seats available except in a pair or trio. This is not the case in First Class on their A380 which is frankly excellent, with super comfy lie-flat seats for sleeping and very consistent experience. It is well worth treating yourself to.
If you choose to fly first class out of Frankfurt, you will get access to the famous Lufthansa First Class Terminal at Frankfurt Airport. You can drive right up to this terminal and avoid the main airport altogether. The lounge in this terminal is swish and offers loads of magazines and papers as you would expect. There is a central bar with every alcoholic drink you could possibly wish for on offer. There is a restaurant area where you can have buffet or table food ordered off a menu, plus there are loads of lounging areas. Also on offer is a cigar room and showers. Perhaps most noteworthy, when you leave the lounge, you are driven to the plane from the First terminal in a Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes S-Class, or a Mercedes van.
Below you will find our most recent flight reviews on Lufthansa in Business Class or First Class – you can draw your own conclusions.
Lufthansa First & Business Class Reviews
Flight Review: Lufthansa B747-8 Business Class Buenos Aires to Frankfurt
In this trip report, I review a flight on Lufthansa B747-8 in Business Class from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt. This was the homeward-bound flight at the end of an extensive tour of South America. We had flown around the continent for five weeks with LATAM, Avianca and Aerolineas Argentinas. So, flying with a major European carrier just underlined that we were on our way back. We had been very impressed with LATAM, a bit less so with Avianca (especially their unreliability) and decidedly not with the Argentinian flag carrier.
Flight Review: Lufthansa A380 First Class Frankfurt To Houston
In this trip report, I review a flight on Lufthansa A380 in First Class from Frankfurt To Houston. I also recently reviewed Lufthansa B747 Business Class Buenos Aires to Frankfurt. This is one of the many First Class offerings from Europe to the US. We also like to travel in First Class on British Airways from the London to America. There is an excellent lounge on offer at the exclusive Lufthansa First Class Terminal at Frankfurt Airport. If you are traveling in First, you can drive right up to this terminal and avoid the main airport altogether.
Flight Review: Lufthansa A350 Business Class
Lufthansa's A350 planes come into circulation in Feb 2017. Based on previous business class reviews, I have outlined what you can expect in business class on this new plane below. We've already reviewed the cabins of a number of airlines currently operating the A350 are including Delta, Finnair, Qatar Airways, TAM / LATAM, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Ethiopian Airlines, Vietnam Airlines and Thai Airways. Flying on the Airbus A350 is an altogether better experience and should also reduce passenger jet lag.
