Luxury Travel Diary staff have flown with Qatar Airways a number of times and have reviewed their long-haul flights in First and Business Class. Trip reports can be found below.
I rate the Middle Eastern Carriers; Qatar, Etihad and Emirates as the top airlines for First Class and have compared Emirates Vs. Etihad Vs. Qatar Airways to rank which is the best Airline in the Middle East. They all also feature in our top 10 best business class airlines in the world.
Qatar Airways offers several types of Business Class products on its A330 fleet, with some aircraft featuring old seats (that don’t fully recline) and others featuring the updated product (with fully flat bed seats) that Qatar offers on its A350, B787, and A380 planes. The brand new Qatar Airways QSuite will be rolled out across most of its fleet (starting with the B777), so in the near future, the inferior A330 Business Class seats will be gradually phased out.
The Qatar Airways’ QSuite will make Qatar Airways the outright winner when choosing an airline to fly to the Middle East in Business Class. By the end of 2018, when this seat has been rolled out across most or all A350’s and Boeing 777’s, there will simply be no comparison between this Business Class product and the Business Class Suites offered by other airlines. Even the new suites offered by American Airlines, United and Delta will not compare, and with the rapid roll-out, Qatar should be your first choice for Business Class on routes flying these two planes.
Pre-flight at Hamad International Airport in Qatar, if you travel in First, you get access to the Qatar Airways El Safwa First Class Lounge which simply outclasses all the competition in airport lounge experiences. In Business Class, you will get access to the Qatar Airway’s Al Mourjan Business Lounge which is also exceptional.
Below, you will find our most recent flight reviews on Qatar Airways in Business Class or First Class – you can draw your own conclusions.
Qatar Airways First & Business Class Reviews
Review: Qatar Airways Airbus A330 Business Class
This trip report reviews Business Class in an Airbus A330-300 of Qatar Airways (QA) from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Qatar to Male International Airport (MLE), in the Maldives. The previous flight on Qatar Airways from Brussels to Doha was operated by a QA Boeing. We have also previously reviewed Qatar Airways Business Class on Boeing 777-300ER, along with a previous trip from Brussels to Doha which was also flown in Business Class on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner and also First on the Qatar A380.
Flight Review: Qatar Airways Boeing B787 Dreamliner Business Class
This trip report reviews a Qatar Airways flight on Boeing B787 Dreamliner in Business Class from Brussels to Doha. We have already reviewed Qatar Airways Business Class on Boeing 777-300ER, along with a previous trip from Brussels to Doha which was also flown in Business Class on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Qatar Airways does not have its own lounge at Brussels Airport. Its Business Class passengers have access to the Brussels lounge Oneworld.
Review: Qatar Airways Business Class On Boeing 777-300ER
In this review, I flew Business Class with Qatar Airways from Brussels (BRU) to Bangkok (BKK) via Doha (DOH) on a Boeing 777-300ER. The first leg of the trip from Brussels to Doha was flown in Business Class on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the experience was excellent. The second leg of the overnight trip (DOH-BKK) was flown in a Boeing 777-300ER and is described below, and although the experience was excellent, it was not as good as on the Dreamliner. The airport lounge you get access to flying in Business on Qatar is the Al Mourjan lounge at Doha airport.
Review: Qatar Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner Business Class
This is the second time we have reviewed Business Class on the Qatar Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This time the trip was from Brussels (BRU) to Doha (DOH). Following this flight I flew Qatar’s Boeing 777-300ER in Business Class from Doha to Bangkok. The airport lounge I was given access to for the stopover flying in business on Qatar was the Al Mourjan lounge at Doha airport. The Dreamliner experience was superb and is significantly better than the dated Business Class product on Qatar Airways Boeing 777.
Review: Qatar Airways First Class On A380 Doha to Paris
I took a trip First Class on a Qatar Airways Airbus A380 from Doha’s new Hamad International Airport in Qatar to Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris, France. Qatar Airways has six A380s in its fleet, deploying them on medium-haul routes from Doha to London, Bangkok, and Paris. We have compared Qatar First Class to British Airways, Emirates and Etihad in First. Qatar Airways has an impressive premium check-in area tucked away in a discrete corner of Hamad International Airport’s departure terminal.
Review: Qatar Airways B787 Amsterdam to Doha Business Class
Feeling in need of a midsummer break, we decided to take advantage of some fantastically competitive fares offered by Qatar Airways in Business Class on their B787 Dreamliner. We bought two Business Class returns from Amsterdam to Bangkok (via Doha). We have flown to SE Asia many times and usually fly direct, so we have lots of experience with 11 and 12-hour flights to Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong. In the past, we've felt it's better to get where we're going ASAP, but we often find the flight a bit too long, even in first or Business Class with lie-flat seats.
Review: Qatar Airways Incredible New QSuite - First Class in Business
The Middle Eastern airlines are currently the best in the world, and I recently compared Emirates Vs. Etihad Vs. Qatar. Qatar has just launched a new Business Class Suite at ITB Berlin, and it is a game-changer offering First Class style seating in their new Business Class Suite named the QSuite. The QSuite is much like the First Suite offered by other airlines.
