The retrofitted United 767 Polaris Business Class now offers the best way to travel transatlantic on any airline. I reviewed all my United Polaris flights previously.

United now offers a Polaris “soft” service, which includes an improved menu and bedding, across its entire fleet. But until recently, the new seats were only available on its 14 777-300ERs. In September 2017, United’s first retrofitted 767 rejoined the fleet offering the full Polaris experience Transatlantic from Newark to London.

There is currently only one retrofitted 767 flying about, so it is very difficult to predict which 767 flight will have the new seats. Even worse; United’s Newark Polaris Lounge is under construction which means that the pre-flight lounge you will get to use for this routing is a pop-up lounge which can get crowded and is very average.

Retrofitted 767-300ER planes are meant to have 30 business-class seats installed in a 2-1-2 configuration, however, on this first retrofitted plane, seats are arranged in a far superior 1-1-1. This makes us love the new United experience even more, and although it falls short of the new Qatar Business Class seat and the stylish new Cathay Pacific A350 cabin, it really is the best choice when traveling transatlantic.

You can read my review, which details my experience of the full United Polaris seat and food on my most recent 777-300 flight. It is fair to say the overall experience will be similar on both planes, be it that the 767 is a much older aircraft.

You can also read my other choices for the best airlines to fly New York to London in Business Class along with other United Airlines Business Class flight reviews.

The chances of catching this single 767 plane that has been refurbished on the Newark to London route is unpredictable, to say the least, but if you do manage to snag one of these flights, you are in for a treat!

I have also outlined the cheapest transatlantic airlines flying to Europe. United is not included in this list but as you can not fly to Europe for as little as $99 USD, this is worth a read.
