This year we have traveled all over the world, and we have selected our favorite Business Class and First Class experiences below. We were lucky enough to travel in the new Polaris Business Class seat, which is only available on a few routes so far. This is a real game-changer for American legacy airlines.
We were also delighted to experience the new Emirates Business and First Class on a press tour. The Emirates First compartment is a game changer with amazing virtual windows projected onto the walls and NASA weightless seats.
If you are traveling on any of these airlines next year, have a read of the reviews below to find out what you will experience.

Our Best Flight Reviews Of 2017
Flight Review: Saudia Airlines B777 First Class Suites
Saudi Arabian Airlines or Saudia Airlines has an excellent lie-flat First Class apartment-style seat or suite on their B777 planes. In this trip report, I detail the seat which I experienced, not on a flight to or from Jeddah, but at the World Travel Market in London last week. While at the show, I also tried out the Saudia Airlines B777 Business Class seats. Saudia is the national carrier airline of Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. You can fly in their new fully lie-flat First Class Seats on their 777-300R planes both for long-haul travel and also short-haul.
Flight Review: Etihad Airways B777 Business Class Abu Dhabi to Bangkok
This November, I flew Business Class in an Etihad Airways Boeing 777-300ER from Etihad’s hub in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) to Bangkok (Thailand). Etihad has a fleet of 29 Boeings 777, which feature the same Business Class product that you will find on Etihad’s Airbus A330 aircraft. The seat is a decent lie flat but is not nearly as good as the Business Studios on Etihad’s A380 and B787 Dreamliner planes. This flight was part of a larger itinerary, which involved a round trip between Frankfurt (Germany) and Bangkok (Thailand) with a stopover in Abu Dhabi.
Transatlantic Flight Review: United B787-9 Dreamliner Polaris Business Class
This trip report reviews my transatlantic flight on United Airlines B787-9 Dreamliner Polaris Business Class from Paris to San Francisco. This flight took place in August 2017 from Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) in France to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in the USA. United's new Business Class concept, 'Polaris', launched in December 2016, was offered on this flight. United's Boeing 787-9 planes do not feature the new Polaris forward-facing pods yet, as these are currently only found on the carrier's brand new B777-300ER and some retrofitted B767-300ER aircraft.
Flight Review: Cathay Pacific A350 Business Class HKG to ICN
At the end of September, I finally got the chance to take the business class in the Cathay Pacific A350 planes for my trip from Hong Kong to Seoul. I have previously sat in the Premium Economy seats on the Cathay A350 plane, which I also reviewed. Now, I can pen my thoughts on the Business Class seats. Cathay Pacific has slightly changed their seats on the new A350 planes. The seats are still reverse herringbone seats in a 1-2-1 arrangement, with a total of 38 seats spread out in a larger cabin of 30 seats and 8 more in a smaller cabin. The seats are 20 inches wide and 45 inches in pitch.
Flight Review: United Polaris Business Class On Boeing 777-300ER
In this trip report, I review my flight in Polaris Business Class (including the new seats) on United's Boeing 777-300ER from Hong Kong (HKG) to San Fransisco (SFO). This flight cost just over $7,000 USD one way and earned 35,130 miles. United launched its new Polaris Business Class in December 2016, replacing their BusinessFirst; and Polaris First replacing Global First cabins. The brand new United Polaris Pod concept is the company’s most drastic product transformation in more than a decade.
Flight Review: United B777 Polaris Domestic First Class To Hawaii
I flew domestic to Hawaii in Polaris First Class on United Airlines Boeing 777-200 from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in California to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) in August 2017. I have already detailed the best airlines to fly First Class to Hawaii. United Airlines calls its domestic Business Class product 'First Class', or 'United First'. The domestic service is not as extensive and refined as on intercontinental flights.
