Stay at Hôtel De l’Horloge for a hotel rich in character with luxury service; the perfect base to explore Avignon in France and its varied heritage and history.

Location

The hotel is located in the very heart of Avignon and is a wonderfully located to explore this ancient city that lies on the Rhône River at the crossroads of Provence and the Languedoc. Wander the maze of small cobbled streets hidden behind age-old ramparts, stand on the legendary Bridge and admire the panorama of the medieval town and the stunning World Heritage site the Palais des Papes (Pope’s Palace). You can spend many a happy day exploring the leafy squares, museums, magnificent town houses, boutiques, antique shops and galleries. Your impressive location puts you right in the centre of the action; with the Pope’s Palace being just a 4-minute walk and both the Cathedrale Avignon and the Musée Du Petit Palais a 5-minute walk.

Style & Character

Hôtel De l’Horloge is housed in a beautiful 19th century stone building whose doors open directly onto the Place de l’Horloge. The interior is stylish and elegant and oozes French charm. Each of the cosy rooms are decorated in warm neutral tones, with wood, wrought iron, sea grass and wicker; very Provençal.

Service & Facilities

The reception has 24/7 service and there’s also a concierge service and complimentary Wi-Fi. The library lounge is a great spot to relax those legs after many happy hours browsing Avignon. It can also be used as a meeting room. The service in this beautiful 4-star hotel is warm, friendly, attentive and very welcoming and really makes your stay special.

Rooms

Choose from 65 soundproofed and air-conditioned rooms; the Standard Rooms are rather cosy; Tradition Rooms add a little more space and some of them come with terraces with outdoor showers so make sure yours does; and the Superior Rooms are elegant and again slightly larger. The Privilege Rooms are the ideal room for luxury travel and several have huge terraces overlooking the Palais des Papes, they also enjoy espresso machines. But the suites are definitely the optimum choice; mainly because they are just that bit larger and just that bit more elegant and refined.

Food & Drink

Avignon is packed with excellent restaurants and many of them can conveniently be found in Place de l’Horloge. Within the hotel’s sunny conservatory overlooking the street you can enjoy a daily buffet breakfast of regional cheeses, seasonal fruit, fresh breads and pastries. There’s also eggs and sausages available if you fancy something warm. All of this can be washed down with a hot drink, espresso coffee and delicious organic fruit juices including freshly squeezed orange juice.
