In this trip report, I include all our British Airways European Economy Class or Coach Class flight reviews. If you travel around Europe on British Airways, you have the choice of flying in Coach or Economy, or European Business Class. At the moment, all the BA planes offer these two classes.
It is worth noting that Economy is not the same on all British Airways planes. On most current planes, the seats recline and are relatively comfortable. On most planes, the Economy seats are 3×3 across the plane, the Business Class seats are 2×2 as British Airways have wedged a small into the middle seat. On the new A320 Neo Plane, the seats are thinner and do not recline, Business Class does not have a center table. On the B767, the Economy seats are in a 3-3-3 arrangement, so take a look at the plane you are flying on, as this will affect which sort of Economy Class layout and seat you will experience.
Food-wise in Economy, you can take a look at the paid British Airways Spring menu. You can buy food and drink with a credit card or Avios.
For me, the reason to fly Club Europe, rather than Economy or Coach, is to get access to the British Airways airport lounges, which are very good when flying out of London Heathrow and London Gatwick. Out of Heathrow you get access to the Heathrow Galleries Club South Lounge or the Galleries Club North. Out of Gatwick you get access to the British Airways Business Lounge. All three lounges are excellent and are used by travelers flying Club Europe and Club World. For me, the use of these lounges makes it worth flying Club Europe on outbound flights from London.
Below you will find our most recent flight reviews of British Airways European Economy Class or Coach (Named Euro Traveller). You can draw your own conclusions.
British Airways European Economy Class Reviews
Flight Review: Economy On The New British Airways A320 Neo Plane
British Airways flew it's first brand new A320neo aircraft, brand new from Airbus, this week. It looks as basic as we expected and although we have not personally reviewed this flight, we can share a picture from the Economy cabin that was originally shared on FlyerTalk. You can find out what Economy (or Coach) is like on other planes in our other British Airways Economy Class flight reviews. The new seats look thin. They don't recline and you have limited space in a 3x3 layout. Life is not much better upfront in European Business Class.
Flight Review: British Airways B767 Economy Nice To London Heathrow
In this trip report, I review British Airways B767 in Economy, Nice to London Heathrow. Usually, when we fly between Nice and London on the Gatwick or the Heathrow route, we fly in British Airways Business Class on the A231, which I have reviewed. It was, therefore, a surprise when we boarded a Boeing 767, built-in 1994, for our return trip from a rather rainy April break in Monaco. You can find out what Economy (or Coach) is like on other planes in our other British Airways Economy Class flight reviews. On this trip, I was running low on Avios and booked into the Economy cabin.
