Having reviewed my usual afternoon flight on the British Airways A231 from London Heathrow to Nice in Business Class on a previous occasion, I will keep this review short and sweet. The seat and the plane has not changed, although the Economy part of the cabin will change as BA continues to densify their planes. On this flight, the food and drink choices were different from my last flight although the experience remains similar). You can read all my other British Airways flight reviews in European Business Class.

My flight was an afternoon flight that left at 2:30 pm and the food onboard was an “afternoon tea” sandwich collection, ham & mustard, cheese and pickle, and egg with a fruity cake. The food tasted fine but was nothing noteworthy. There was a ploughman’s alternative but this had run out by the time the steward had reached our seats in row 6. There were 2 toilets at the front of the cabin for Business Class passengers.

As I have outlined previously, for working, the 3-3 arrangement in Economy is incredibly tight so it is very difficult to type on your laptop without elbowing your neighbor. I, therefore, find Business Class within Europe worth “paying” for is it is available on Avios. Business Class is arranged in a 2-2 layout with the middle seat allocated to a table giving you plenty of elbow and leg space as you can angle yourself. It is also nice having complimentary food and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as it helps to pass the time.

My flight cost 7,750 Avios from London to Nice (+taxes and fees). It would have cost half the Avios to travel in Economy. I have outlined in detail why I think it is worth paying for Club Europe in more detail.
