With one of the finest golf resorts on the British coast, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa makes an idyllic golf break. Offering a selection of luxury accommodation, fine food, and handcrafted drinks with an extensive spa and health club, Formby Hall is an indulgent retreat that leaves you pampered and inspired.
Why We Love This Hotel
The ideal luxury travel escape from stressful city life, we love the Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa for teaching us how to take a break, relax, and set ourselves free. With scenic views, comfortable rooms, and exceptional facilities and services, the gorgeous Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa will sweep you away into a memorable luxury countryside experience.
Location
It is located in Southport, a large seaside town in Merseyside, England. The Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, is set within the beautiful British countryside and is a 45-minute car journey away from the excellent shopping destinations and culture that the city of Liverpool offers. Nearby, you will find Formby’s National Trust Beach, the spectacular Anthony Gormley statues on Crosby Beach, and the Red Squirrel Reserve. You get the best of both worlds while staying at the Formby Hall, enjoying both the tranquil nature and countryside and the ability to explore the wonders that Liverpool has to offer.
Best Time To Visit
Seasons are mild, with quite cool summers along with gentle winters. The major tourist seasons are during the late Spring and Summer, as this is the time when you get the best weather. You can expect to find that the average maximum temperature between June to September is 19°C. Early Autumn is less crowded, but still with the chance of good weather. British weather can usually be very unreliable, and therefore, the temperature and rainfall can fluctuate greatly.
How To Get There
If traveling to and from London, a car journey via the M1 and M6 will take approximately 4 hours. Additionally, trains and coaches are available at affordable prices and can be boarded from Euston station; both forms of transportation can also take a rough approximation of 4 to 5 hours. There are two airports less than an hour away from Southport, including the Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL), with major operations such as RyanAir and Easy Jet, as well as Manchester International Airport (MAN), operating more than 200 destinations. The city of Liverpool is also a 45-minute drive away from the town of Southport.
Style & Character
Set amongst cozy countryside scenery, Formby Hall is nestled amongst lush greenery and refreshing lake views. With architecture resembling a large old English mansion, there’s plenty of time to pretend that you’re King or Queen of the entire property. The interior is tastefully refined with sophisticated textures and color, making your stay comfortable and one of a kind.
Service & Facilities
As a leading luxury spa hotel in the North West of England, the hotel facilities include the beautiful luxury spa & health club, championship golf courses, and, of course, you can explore the countryside and beaches that lie right on the doorstep by bike with a picnic from the hotel. Guests can also take advantage of the courses that Formby Hall has to offer, from the 18-hole Championship Course, 9-hole Woodhey Dunes Course, and the PGA Academy, all right in the heart of England’s Golf Coast, ensuring seasoned professionals and beginners are perfectly catered for.
Rooms
Relax in spacious comfort at Formby Hall. Rooms are chic and stylishly designed, creating the perfect sanctuary for a relaxing and indulgent time. Special touches include stand-alone baths, rain showers, Nespresso coffee makers & views over the golf course. Guests can enjoy a choice of Classic, Executive to Deluxe, and Loft Rooms. Amenities can include complimentary Wi-Fi, In-Room Safe, Personal Safe, Satellite TV, and more.
Best Rooms
The Deluxe Loft Room is the perfect hideaway after exploring what Formby Hall and its surrounding area has to offer. With the addition of a lounge area, sofa and a king-sized bed, guests can reminisce next to the fireplace with a bottle of bubbly. With touches of rose-gold and blue velvet décor, drifting off into a good night’s sleep will be easy in such a tastefully decorated room.
Food & Drink
The Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa offers a wide selection of dining options to choose from. The Fairway Grill & Bar overlooks the tranquil golf course. Chefs prepare the finest grills and seasonal cuisine. The grill creates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere with a contemporary design. On the menu, you can find breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and traditional roasts served with all the trimmings. The bar offers handcrafted cocktails, fine wines, draft beer, or a relaxing tea or coffee. A light menu during the day and into the evening is also available. Delicious Afternoon Tea can also be found at Formby with delicate cakes and delicious sandwiches.
