Perth Airport has four terminals that fly both domestic and international airlines out of Perth. We outline the look, food, and what you need to gain access to each airport lounge. We have also reviewed the best hotel club or executive lounges in Perth, so that you can enjoy an upgraded experience both at the airport and where you stay.

When you arrive at Perth Airport, you need to figure out which terminal you are flying from. There is no ‘pay by use’ lounge in Perth. To get access to these lounges, you have to be a top-tier member of the airline or airline groups’ frequent flyer scheme and be flying with that airline on that day. The only other way to get into the lounge is to have a business class ticket.

Perth Airport Terminal 1 & 2 Lounge Reviews

All regional, domestic, and international Virgin Australia flights are located together at the T1/T2 airport precinct. Connecting flights are only a short distance apart, making transfers more seamless than ever.

Flight departures by terminal are outlined below:

Virgin Australia has three lounges across Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

1. Virgin Australia ‘The Club’ Lounge: Terminal 1 Domestic

The main Virgin Australia lounge is in Terminal 1. This lounge is business-like and designed in hues of red and grey with navy carpet and views onto the tarmac.

It serves most Virgin Australia flights leaving Perth, although some smaller regional flights depart from the purpose-built T2 Regional Terminal, where Virgin Australia also has a small lounge.

The lounge is easy to miss as it is straight after security and kind of hidden. There is loads of seating in this lounge, a range of bar stools, dining seats with tables in “networking-style” long shared tables with power and USB sockets at regular intervals along the middle of the table, and groups of armchairs arranged around tables. There is also a quiet Business Centre with work chairs and a printer.

The food and drink offerings in Virgin Australia lounges tend to be similar to the Qantas Clubs’ level, with an all-day salad and sandwich bar and hot food like chicken and rice at mealtimes.

Alongside are bread, wraps, chicken, shredded vegetables, and condiments. Snacks include nuts, popcorn, crisps, and cookies. There is also a stylish Wine and Espresso Bar, plus water, beer, and cider.

Bathrooms are nicely designed with spacious showers with REN shower gel and soap, with excellent views onto the tarmac.

You can gain entrance to this lounge if you are flying Business Class or are a Gold or Platinum member of Velocity and partner airline programs. If you hold a lounge pass or are a Virgin Australia Lounge member, or if you have an AMEX Centurion or AMEX Platinum card.

If you don’t have longe access, you can dine at Hungry Jack’s, Hudson’s Coffee, Toby’s Estate Coffee, NOOODLES, authentic Asian cuisine, Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill, or at the Long Neck, a bar and restaurant featuring a menu designed by local Chef Chris Taylor.

2. Virgin Australia Regional Lounge: Terminal 2

This small lounge in terminal 2 is mainly used for regional flights around Western Australia. It is similar to the lounge above but with much smaller food and drink offerings. WA flights. Located to the left after security screening. It has a pared-back selection of food and beverage.

You can get entry to this lounge if you are flying Business Class or are a Gold or Platinum member of Velocity and partner airline programs. If you hold a lounge pass or are a Virgin Australia Lounge member, or if you have an AMEX Centurion or AMEX Platinum card.

The Virgin Australia lounge in Terminal 1 is the best lounge, so use that when possible, even when flying out of terminal 2, but allow for a 15-minute walk to your departure gate in Terminal 2.

3. Emirates Perth International Business Lounge: Terminal 1 International

This Emirates lounge opened in 2015 and is usefully adjacent to the gates that serve their Airbus A380. You board directly from the lounge. It is designed with lots of comfy seating in a lounge area. The seats are sandy tans with red cushions and a blue carpet. This is one of the best pre-flight lounges at Perth Airport and is very Emirates in style. There is also a prayer room, a business area with computers, printers, etc., and a dining room with a la carte and buffet. Both are excellent.

You can only get in if you are flying in Emirates first class and business class, are a Skywards Gold and Platinum, and Qantas Gold members (and above) when traveling with Emirates on an EK or QF flight number.
Tip: You can board your A380 flight directly from this lounge, so there’s no need to rush prior to departure.

4. Qantas Perth International Business Lounge: Terminal 1 International

Confusingly, this lounge is not a Qantas lounge at all, so don’t be confused. You do not have to fly Qantas to access this lounge. All international flights except Qantas fly from this terminal at Perth Airport.

You can get into this lounge if you are flying Business or First Class on Oneworld airlines (Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, British Airways, etc.) or if you are a top-tier member of an airline frequent flyer scheme, so Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald, Qantas Gold and Platinum, Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus Gold and higher, Star Alliance Gold, Sky Pearl Silver and Gold, SkyTeam Elite Plus, Garuda Miles Platinum.

The lounge is small and intimate but has no windows, so is pretty dingy. To be honest, this lounge is a bit tired lounge and although it has adequate food and drink, similar to a Domestic Qantas Club. The snacks are meager, and the array of drinks is small. Bathrooms and showers are, however, excellent.

5. Perth Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge: Terminal 1 International

Located near Gate 5, this Singapore Airlines lounge is open to Business class passengers on Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia, KrisFlyer Gold members, and Virgin Australia Velocity Gold member and before Singapore Airlines and other Star Alliance flights.

The lounge itself is unimpressive, quite small, and gets crowded very quickly. The lounge opens when check-in does, which for SQ would be 3 hours before departure. They close 40 mins before the flight departs. Usefully, the lounge will announce boarding (as the lounge closes at the same time).

6. Air New Zealand Business Lounge: Terminal 1 International

This lounge is nice and open to business class passengers on Air New Zealand and top-tier flyers with Koru Club and Star Alliance airlines. It is just next to gate 52A and is the lounge you get access to before your flight to Aukland or Christchurch.

The lounge is smart and ultra-modern (the newest in the terminal), and the food is excellent, with lots of vats containing noodle dishes, fruits, hot chicken dishes, and loads of drinks. Along with the Emirates lounge, this is definitely one of the best lounges at Perth airport in the International Terminal.

8. Perth Airport Terminal 3 & 4 Qantas Lounge Reviews

Terminals 3 & 4 are connected and fly Qantas domestic flights and the Qantas London International flights, as well as the daily sprint to Singapore and Jetstar domestic flights. All domestic Qantas lounges can be found in T4 after security.

If you are flying internationally, you use the Business Lounge in T4 (before immigration) unless you are flying in or out of London Heathrow, in which case you can use the same Business Lounge in T4 (before immigration), then the International Transit Lounge in Terminal 3 (after immigration).

If you are flying domestic and are a Qantas Club Member or Gold Flyer, you can access the Domestic Qantas Club. If you are flying domestic and you are a Platinum Flyer, you can access the Domestic Qantas Club AND the Business Lounge in Terminal 4 (before immigration).

9. Qantas Chairman’s Lounge

The best lounge in Terminal 3 & 4 is the Qantas Chairman’s Lounge Terminal 4. It is a First Class level lounge, much like the Sydney and Canberra Chairman’s Lounges. The look is dated, like a Vegas Casino from the ’70s (sorry, but it’s not my style), but it offers very good à la carte dining, so if you have access, make use of this lounge. It is the best in Terminal 4.
