I have flown with China Airlines many times and have reviewed their long-haul Business Class and Premium Economy flights on A350 Vs. B777. My trip reports can be found below.
China Airlines has been named the most turnaround airline worldwide – they came from a reputation for miserable old planes and a shaky safety record to one of the safest airlines in Asia with some of the newest jets.
Whilst it’s easy to pick their new ‘Premium Business Class’ product as the true flagship product on the new aircraft, we are also attracted by their brand new premium economy class, which is phenomenal in its own right and for the price is one of the best business class minus products in the air today.
The China Airlines A350 is a great plane with a beautiful cabin. I love the design in the warm and understated colors. The seats are the same (but newer) model that you can find on China Airlines 777. It is a new version of the B/E Aerospace Super Diamond seat that is, in turn modeled after Cathay Pacific’s super successful Zodiac seat. It is a little hard to get into your seat, but it delivers privacy and plenty of room (in all directions) for a comfortable fight.
Below you will find my most recent flight reviews on China Airlines in Business Class and Premium Economy, and you can also read my lounge reviews at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport before one of my China Airlines flights.
China Airlines Business Class Flight Reviews On A350 & B777
Flight Review: China Airlines A350 Business Class
I had the chance to try out China Airlines A350 Business Class last year and was determined to use the lovely plane again for my flight(s) to Indonesia. I jumped on a Business Class mistake fare from Jakarta to Taipei on their A350 for just under $600 USD Round Trip for a total of 12 hours in lie-flat Business Class. Since these mistake fares and crazy deals are so hard to predict and are bookable only for a few minutes or hours at a time, you will need a dedicated service like Mighty Travels Premium to be notified of this kind of rate.
Review: China Airlines B777-300ER Business Class
In this trip report I review business class on China Airlines B777-300ER. China airlines have ten B77-300ER aircraft operating on routes to New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Frankfurt. China Airlines also fly the A350 with a premium economy and business class offering.
China Airlines A350 Premium Business Class Review
China Airlines is the latest airline to order an Airbus A350. In this trip report, I review their Business Class product. The Airbus A350-900 is a new aircraft and is arguably the competitor to Boeing’s carbon fiber 787 aircraft. We have outlined which Airlines Fly The Airbus A350 Aircraft elsewhere. Flying on the Airbus A350 is an altogether better experience and should also reduce passenger jet lag. It is built largely from the lighter construction material, carbon fiber, which enables a 25 percent increased operational efficiency.
China Airlines A350-900 Premium Economy Review
China Airlines will launch its A350-900 in early 2017. I review their new premium economy having already showcased their Premium Business Class service. The A350-900 is configured with 306 seats, 32 in business class, 31 in premium economy, and 243 in economy. Premium economy on the A350 (pictured below) offers the biggest leap forward, compared both with China Airlines’ 777-300ER and with other carriers’ premium economy offerings.
Review: Best China Airlines Business Class Lounges At Taiwan Taoyuan Airport
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport features a total of four (!) different Business Class lounges for departing China Airlines Premium passengers now. The rules apparently say you can only really use one for your flight. However, there is no internal system that tracks where you have actually been before, so 'lounge hopping' isn't a problem. There is no real reason to lounge-hop unless you are a travel writer! Most feature an uninspiring menu of food options that won't raise your appetite in any way. The same goes for the uninspiring drinks menu.
