Book A Hotel

We have reviewed hotels in Bahrain with the best club or executive lounges. Whether you are traveling as a couple, a family, or as a single business traveler, by reviewing each of these club lounges, in turn, I conclude which hotel club lounge comes in at the top and which hotel I would select as having the best club lounge in Bahrain.

Bahrain, officially the Kingdom of Bahrain, is an island country in the Persian Gulf. The sovereign state comprises a small archipelago centered around Bahrain Island, situated between the Qatar peninsula and the northeastern coast of Saudi Arabia, to which it is connected by the 25-kilometer King Fahd Causeway. Rich in culture and history, Bahrain is worth a tour of the marvelous old sites, colorful traditional souks dotted between skyscrapers and contemporary urban living. There are plenty of things to do and explore.

I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Bahrain. I list the lounges that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail in turn so that you know what you’ll get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.

1. Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa

Ritz-Carlton hotels often offer the best club lounges in a city. They have an exceptional food offering 5-times a day and are usually lovely luxury lounges to hang out. Much like Jumeirah club lounges, expect the best from a Ritz-Carlton club lounge.

The lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa is no exception, with breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf from this beautifully appointed lounge. The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa boasts 245 rooms and suites within a 20-acre resort complex on the beaches of Manama. If you prefer something larger, choose from 23 seafront villas, each with a live-in butler, swimming pool, and private beach access.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa also offers seven internationally inspired restaurants, lounges, and bars, including the intimate darkness of Plums in the evening. Indulge in the well-stocked humidor of the Burlington Club and enjoy a real Cuban cigar with a snifter of brandy.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Spa promises relaxation and rejuvenation to every guest, focusing on calming and nurturing its guests while beautifying the skin, body, even the soul, with a team of skilled massage therapists and aestheticians.

One of the best features of the hotel is its large and deep swimming pool. In the summer months, this is actively chilled to provide relief in the hot summer months. You can plunge in after just a few minutes outside. There are also numerous beaches and a shallow lagoon where you can paddle in the sea without the usual disruption of the waves.

This Ritz-Carlton club lounge is exactly as you would expect. There are five separate daily presentations, and the food presentation is excellent. There are two dedicated floors with distinctive amenities, including a separate lounge area and panoramic views of turquoise Gulf waters, the golden sand beach and lush green gardens of the resort, and the Manama skyline.

The beautifully appointed Club Lounge is furnished to resemble a comfortable living area and well stocked with books and international magazines and newspapers.

Continuous culinary presentations are served from all day into the late evening with live cooking stations that offer a culinary journey of their restaurants along with personal check-in and check-out services along with a complimentary club meeting room. The staff are kind, helpful, and friendly and offer excellent service. It is a particularly wonderful retreat from the heavy heat in the summer.

The lounge is also ideal for children and offers a refined retreat for our young kids aged 4-12 years old, offering a great selection of board games, coloring books, and a dedicated buffet of cookies, candies, and marshmallows to satisfy the sweet cravings of both kids and grown-ups alike. The Ritz Kids playroom is open every Friday and Saturday.

Enjoy a taste of their dual heritage with a complimentary Arabic coffee or a French macaron from the patisserie. Award-winning La Mer presents exceptional seafood in a sumptuous French style. 3. InterContinental Regency Bahrain

InterContinental Regency Bahrain is a modern luxury hotel. This iconic destination in Manama is 15 minutes away from Bahrain Airport. Wake up in a spacious room to views across Bahrain Financial Harbour. Buy spices at Manama Souq or shop at Bahrain City Centre, a 10-minute drive away. Indulge in a Spa InterContinental or soak up the sun by the outdoor pools. If you book a club room, you will get access to the Club InterContinental executive lounge, which is very good but has the slightly generic corporate feel that most InterContinental hotels have. Expect an excellent breakfast with plenty of choices but a more limited evening offering. You will need to eat out if you want to fill yourself up, as the food here in the evenings is very much “just canapes”. It is a good hotel to spend or earn ihg loyalty points.

4. Le Meridien City Centre Bahrain

This contemporary 5-star hotel is directly attached to City Centre Bahrain, the largest mall in the Kingdom. The mall features Wahooo! Waterpark, Magic Planet, 20-screen Cineplex, and Saks Fifth Avenue department store. All guests of the hotel are invited to use the complimentary facilities of its sister hotel, The Westin Bahrain City Centre, such as access to spa facilities, fitness center, and infinity pool.

Le Meridien City Centre Bahrain is a nice choice in Bahrain, with Club Rooms having access to the club lounge. It is usually not too expensive to upgrade and is usually well worth it. You get an extensive breakfast and evening happy hour in the lounge, which more than covers the cost of the upgrade if there are two of you.

The rooms here are great, luxurious, and modern, and the hotel is connected to the city center mall, which has plenty of dining and shopping options. This means that you are not tied to the food options available at the hotel.

This hotel costs 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night if you are looking to redeem a stay here and is probably your most luxurious Marriott choice in Bahrain.

5. Westin Bahrain

The Westin Bahrain hotel has a nice pool, spa, and gym on the third floor and is also directly attached to City Centre Bahrain, the largest mall in the Kingdom.

The Westin executive club lounge is large and is located on the 10th floor. The lounge has great food and a small business center with many computers. It features similar views from the rooms.

Breakfast is great with four vats of hot items (8 choices in all because each vat contains two options plus continental including cold meats and cheeses, smoked salmon, all sorts of salad and vegetable items, fresh pastries, croissants, muffins, choco bread plus cut fruit (lots of melon), cereal, yogurt, eggs, etc.

Evening food is provided from 6:30 – 8:30 pm and is impressive and fresh from crisps and salad items, fresh dips like guacamole to 8 hot dishes in four vats to a great dessert offering with lots of mini cheesecakes, sponges, etc. All are beautifully presented, and there is more than enough to fill you up. Alcohol is free in this lounge with whiskey and wine but no beer.

6. Sheraton Bahrain

With easy access to MODA Mall and other shopping centers, Bahrain World Trade Center, Bahrain Financial Harbor, and only 7 km away from Bahrain International Airport, Sheraton Bahrain Hotel is a good choice of hotel if you are looking for a club lounge in Bahrain for business or leisure.

218 guest rooms and 38 suites and relaxing space at the Club Lounge with complimentary breakfast, afternoon hors d’oeuvres, and high-speed internet access. Book a Club Room (or get a free upgrade if you have high Bonvoy status). This lounge is open until late, until 10:30 pm. Breakfast is a decent spread of the basics, scrambled eggs, sausage, mushrooms, pastries, cereals, Orange juice, and cappuccino; they also have a machine, but it makes frothy hot drinks, including very good cappuccinos.

Club lounge guests have a choice to go to the club (10th floor) or go to the restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant has a chef who will cook your omelet/eggs and a much more extensive buffet with multiple items from waffles, fruit, delicious light buttery pastries, other hot items, a fresh juice machine, coffees, etc. It is a better choice.

After breakfast, the lounge closes and re-opens at lunch until 3:30 pm, serving a selection of different and really nice sandwiches and drinks. From 3:30 – 6:30 pm, the sandwiches continue along with dessert. The cakes are delicious. 6:30 – 11:30 pm is the time that hot foods are served, such as wraps, steak medallions, and potato, shrimp, chicken and mushroom mini pies, etc. Happy hour between 6:30 – 8:30 pm includes beer on tap, and wine, and a selection of spirits, including gin, vodka, whiskey. 7. Hilton Bahrain Bay Hotel & Residences

Hilton Bahrain Bay Hotel & Residences with 210 Apartments is not yet open and will welcome its first guests in early 2020. This $66m Hilton Bahrain Bay Hotel & Residences will boast 210 rooms and will be situated within The Avenues, Bahrain.

Located in Manama’s Bahrain Bay area, Hilton Bahrain Bay Hotel & Residences will be directly attached to The Avenues, Bahrain, which will offer a range of retail and food and beverage (F&B) outlets. Hotel guests will have direct access to both the mall and a new 1.5 km-long stretch of the Corniche.

Once completed, the resort will feature 150 apartments, 60 studio suites, four stand-alone dining outlets, a swimming pool, and spa and fitness facilities. It will most likely include a Hilton club lounge, which deserves a place in our best hotel executive club lounges in Bahrain article.

8. Crowne Plaza Bahrain

Crowne Plaza Bahrain, Manama, Bahrain, is an average hotel in a decent location with a large but uninteresting pool area. It is located in the central Manama area near Exhibition road, close to some of the city’s most popular attractions like the Avenues Mall, and only 10 minutes from the airport. Book a Crowne Club Room, and you get a better class of toiletries, but the room can be very small in size. The hotel’s public spaces are good, with three restaurants, a large British pub-style bar with a live band, and a Bahraini nightclub with resident Eastern European dancers. The executive lounge is also tiny and is off to the side of the Business Centre. It has a coffee machine but tends to remain empty and closed until cocktails and hors d’oeuvres time at 6:00 pm. This lounge is not worth the money.
