We review hotels in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with the best club or executive lounges. Whether you are traveling as a couple, a family, or as a single business traveler, I conclude which hotel club lounge is best for you and has the best club lounge in Montreal.

Montreal is the most populous municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is a great city with loads of festivals, an exciting restaurant scene, and beautiful outdoor attractions. Celebrate Montreal’s history, culture, and joie de vivre at one of the city’s luxury hotels.

The best time to visit Montreal is in the summer months. June through to September are the busiest. To avoid the crowds, time your visit in April through May or September through October for quiet and warmth. You can fly direct to Montreal from London or most major American airport hubs.

Luxury hotels in Montreal, Quebec, include the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal (no club lounge), Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth with a club lounge, Ritz-Carlton Montreal (no club lounge), Le Mount Stephen (no club lounge), W Montreal (no club lounge) Hotel Le St. James (no club lounge), along with numerous Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott Bonvoy properties.

I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Montreal. I list the lounges in Montreal that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail in turn so that you know what you will get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.

1. Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth

Eastern Canada’s largest hotel has undergone a rooftop-to-basement transformation to reinvent this iconic hotel, propelling Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth into an exciting new chapter. This renovation brings the hotel’s glorious past to life. Their club lounge is pictured above, and their pool is one of the best, if not the best, in town!

Fairmont, The Queen Elizabeth, opens onto the core of downtown, revealing spectacular views and reflecting the city’s joie de vivre. Renovations include new guestrooms with more Fairmont Gold rooms, which have access to their expanded executive club lounge; a business campus with an outdoor terrace; a mixology bar; a cozy coffee lounge; a lively bistro; a unique urban market; a wellness center with an indoor pool; and innovative event lounges with the latest technology.

For Beetles fans, the famous John Lennon and Yoko Ono suite, site of the 1969 “bed-in for peace,” has been completely renovated with a virtual reality experience and plenty of in-room surprises. This is the suite where the couple stayed in bed for one week. The 3,000 ft² Royal Suite, the largest in the city, has a private panoramic elevator and fabulous views of the downtown skyline. A new curated art collection featuring cutting-edge work by established and emerging artists adds a sense of community and flair to the property.

Guests of the Fairmont Gold floors and lounge can enjoy the redesigned Fairmont Gold lounge located on the 21st floor. The dedicated team ensures that your every need is met in the exclusive Fairmont Gold lounge, arranging dinner reservations, limousines, and any other special privileges. Start your day off perfectly with a healthy and bountiful deluxe continental breakfast while enjoying breathtaking views of downtown Montreal from the lounge. Throughout the day, you can enjoy coffee, tea, soft drinks, a curated honor bar as well as complimentary cocktail canapés made with local delicacies in a residential homelike atmosphere that encourages relaxing comfort.

Fairmont Gold Rooms are located on the 18th and 19th floors and are fully renovated, blending a contemporary decor with a vintage 1960s flair reminiscent of the hotel’s and Montreal’s glorious past. Fairmont Gold rooms can accommodate up to four people, depending on bed type.

2. InterContinental Montreal

The InterContinental Montreal has a Club InterContinental executive lounge and offers affordable luxury in Montreal city center. This hotel is right in downtown Montreal, in the heart of the business district, so it couldn’t be better located, plus it is connected to the underground city and a conference center and is close to two subway stations, which gives you easy access to many of the city’s points of interest. Old Montreal, as well as Notre Dame Basilica, are a short walk away.

The hotel has 357 good-sized rooms, an exercise room with state-of-the-art equipment, a 15-meter indoor salt-water lap pool, a dry sauna in both changing rooms, & steam baths in the men’s changing rooms.

It’s worth paying the extra to upgrade to “club” access because the club provides a great breakfast and an amazing daily happy hour in the evening, which includes free alcoholic drinks. The food in the lounge is excellent and very much more than snacks. It’s enough for a full dinner.

The Club InterContinental guestrooms are on the upper floors and offer one king or two double beds depending on your needs and luxurious decor with breathtaking views of Montreal. These rooms include access to the Club InterContinental Lounge, where guests can benefit from a gourmet breakfast, soft drinks, a selection of spirits, and hors-d’oeuvres between.

3. The Ritz-Carlton Montreal

I have included the Ritz-Carlton Montreal in our best executive club lounge listing because almost every Ritz-Carlton has an executive lounge. This one doesn’t, but it remains a brilliant hotel and a top choice in Montreal and should be considered, even if you were set on staying in a hotel with a club lounge. This hotel has many other advantages plus our own benefits (if you book with our concierge), so it is a top choice in Montreal.

The Ritz-Carlton Montreal is situated in the most elegant address in the city of Montreal since its opening in 1912. The hotel’s 98 guest rooms and 31 suites feature the latest in high-tech amenities. Details from the original 1912 hotel abound to accentuate its seamless mixture of old and new.

Not only do guests enjoy legendary service and luxury amenities, but they also have access to a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, as well as the spacious greenhouse, magnificent garden, and street-adjacent terrace of Maison Boulud restaurant, where they can experience the finest of fine dining.

The hotel actually sits in Golden Square Mile and is close to Montreal’s high-end boutiques, galleries, and museums. This is the hotel you should come to celebrity spot, but it is also perfect for a weekend break or the ideal base for business. Relax in the rooftop pool or steal some quiet time over afternoon tea in the immaculate Palm Court. Every elegant corner shares the hotel’s iconic history, which dates back to 1912 and the legendary service of Les Clefs d’Or concierges.

While the hotel offers gorgeous rooms and lovely cream marble bathrooms, I am not a major fan of the luxury Toto toilet in the Junior King rooms (I am not sure if they have them across the hotel) that cleans your behind. However, I do like the Asprey amenities in the bathrooms.

Unfortunately, this Ritz-Carlton does not have a club lounge, but if you book with us, you still get a bunch of valuable benefits, including breakfast, which is particularly good here. This hotel remains a top choice in Montreal.

The Ritz-Carlton Montreal is part of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme and is a category 7 property costing, on average, 50,000 Bonvoy rewards points per night.

4. The Delta Montreal

The Delta Montreal is your best Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Montreal for quality and value. It costs less than the Ritz-Carlton, the Renaissance, and the W Montreal while remaining luxurious. The Renaissance and these other hotels are also good but are considerably more expensive. The Delta is better than the Marriott, the Sheraton, and Le Meridien in Montreal. Renaissance Montreal is a stylish, modern Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Montreal. It is one of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Montreal without a club lounge.

This hotel is in a good location close to two different metro lines, within a 5 min walk from Rue Ste-Catherine, with restaurants and stores, and around a 20 min walk from old Montreal. It can seem more isolated relative to other Marriott Bonvoy hotels and is found up a hill, which can be draining if you are walking.

Platinum members get free access to the concierge executive lounge. The Delta lounge is large with 2-floors and a small balcony, which is lovely in the summer. The club lounge is on the 23rd floor. If you are a Marriott Platinum and have access to the restaurant for free, the breakfast is better there (detailed below) because there is a larger selection. However, the club lounge still offers a very decent breakfast. Expect hot items (eggs, sausage, bacon) for breakfast as well as cereals, bread, fruit, etc., in the club lounge, and this lounge is open on weekends.

Happy hour is every evening, and there are usually be 2 warm dishes, one of which is vegetarian, as well as some cheese, veggies, bread, and dessert. Soft drinks and water are free, but alcohol is charged. Outside of breakfast/happy hour, there is usually fruit and cookies, and pretzels left in the lounge, as well as soft drinks. It is worth mentioning that the service in the lounge is also excellent.

All rooms at The Delta Montreal are of similar size. They differ in the number of beds and floor number. All rooms are spacious, and there are lots of power outlets right next to the bed (hurrah!). There is also a fridge and a balcony. Strangely, outdoor furniture is available upon request. There is also a gym at this hotel.

If you have the choice (usually if you are a Platinum Marriott Bonvoy member), take breakfast in the main restaurant with fruits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, made-to-order eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, hashbrowns, pancakes, and juice.

Overall, because of the Delta lounge, which is well worth paying to upgrade to, and because of the food and fairly priced alcoholic drinks, this is a popular hotel with regular travelers to Montreal. The downside is the long walk from the train station.

The Delta Montreal is part of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme and is a category 5 property costing, on average, 35,000 Bonvoy rewards points per night.

5. DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal

The Hyatt Regency Montreal become part of Hilton’s DoubleTree brand in 2018. This was the only Hyatt property in Montreal.

DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal is conveniently located in downtown Montréal across the street from Place des Arts. It has 595 guest rooms with amenities, including an indoor heated pool, fitness center, sauna, and steam room, two restaurants, and overnight valet parking.

Standard rooms have a half bath and a walk-in shower. The compact 24/7 fitness center is located on the bottom floor by the pool. Just above the pool is a terrace with sundeck chairs looking out at the streets below. There is also a spa at this Hilton.

The club lounge is located on the lobby level, with comfy seating and a small business center. Club Lounge access comes with a complimentary breakfast buffet, evening hors-d’oeuvre, and drinks, including wine and beer. Within the lounge, you get evening hor d’ouvres, which are very filling and include soup, a nice selection of salads, cold cuts and cheeses, olives, bread, crackers, veggies, dips, and mini canapes. Sweets were largely pastries and tarts, but the only hot dish is soup. There is plenty to fill you up. Throughout the day, there are cookies and fruit as well as soft drinks. Lounge access is free for those staying in Executive Rooms or with Hilton Honors Diamond Status.

They served alcoholic drinks very cheaply for an extra fee, usually $5 USD. The seating and look reminds me of the Hyatt Regency London remains identical to what it was before, even though this hotel is now a Hilton Doubletree, with brown and black decor with a dark but sophisticated feel.

The restaurant breakfast buffet is large and varied and includes cereals, meats and cheeses, bacon, sausage, baked beans, and an omelet station.

The offering of the new DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal is similar in terms of room decor and design to the Hyatt, as the Hyatt had been recently refurbished.

6. Le Centre Sheraton Montreal

Le Centre Sheraton Montreal has recently refurbished its 825 guest rooms and suites, which now contain oversized work desks, small seating areas, LCD flatscreen TVs, Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds, redesigned bathrooms, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

The 37th floor is very nice, and the large club lounge has great views and offers a good continental breakfast and evening hor d’ouvres, which include both hot and cold dishes. Alcoholic beverages are available for a fee. There’s an indoor pool at the fitness center and a day spa in the hotel as well.

Le Centre Sheraton Montreal is part of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme and is a category 5 property costing, on average, 35,000 Bonvoy rewards points per night.

7. Marriott Chateau Champlain

Marriott Chateau Champlain is one of the worst Marriott Bonvoy choices in Montreal. You are much better off choosing the Delta or the Renaissance if your budget will stretch that far. There is a small club lounge at Marriott Chateau Champlain, but it is closed on weekends and does not offer any hot breakfast items, which is disappointing.

The Marriott Chateau is part of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme and is a category 5 property costing, on average, 35,000 Bonvoy rewards points per night.

8. Sheraton Montreal Airport

Near the airport, there’s also an Aloft and a Sheraton. At the Sheraton Montreal Airport, there is a 24/7 Club lounge on the main floor, which has a reasonable and filling breakfast and hors d’oeuvres, offering free wine and beer.

The Sheraton Montreal Airport is part of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme and is a category 4 property costing on average 25,000 Bonvoy rewards points per night.

9. Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel

Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel also has a club lounge which is closed on weekends & holidays, at which point you get a continental breakfast in the restaurant if you are a Platinum.

The Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is part of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme and is a category 4 property costing, on average, 25,000 Bonvoy rewards points per night.

Within Montreal, another Marriott Bonvoy choice is Le Westin Hotel Montreal which is a smart but generic hotel located in Montreal’s historic district near Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal and the Palais des Congrès. Le Westin Montreal has 455 sophisticated guest rooms in a 23-story tower, offering a calming oasis within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and historic sites. But it doesn’t have a club lounge. It does have a glass-bottom indoor pool, a Westin WORKOUT gym, and a street-level restaurant that keeps you nourished with delicious SuperFoodsRx dishes. Le Westin Hotel Montreal is part of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme and is a category 5 property costing, on average, 35,000 Bonvoy rewards points per night.

It is worth noting that while there are other chain hotels like Marriotts, Sheratons, and so forth across Quebec, such as the Westin Mont Tremblant, Four Points Lévis, Four Points Québec Resort, Four Points Gatineau, very few have executive club lounges. The Laval Sheraton has a Club lounge with both continental breakfasts in the morning and hot and cold appetizers in the evening, as well as alcohol for a fee. The Fairmont Tremblant has a Gold Floor and club lounge, but elsewhere in Quebec, club lounges are few and far between.
