The main airport lounge at Venice Airport VCE is the Marco Polo Lounge. Previously, there was the original Marco Polo lounge, but Venice airport has undergone major construction, and since around 2017, a brand new airport lounge was opened.
If you traveled through the airport before 2017, you will remember the long walk outside (in the summer heat, this was fairly unbearable) to get to the docks where the boats in and out of Venice arrive and depart from. Now, you stay inside and take a moving walkway to docks inside ports within the terminal.
If you’re traveling in Business or First class on American, British, Qatar, Finnair, and Iberia, or you are OneWorld Sapphire or Emerald, you get free access to the Marco Polo Lounge in Venice airport. This is also the lounge for if you don’t have status or are flying in Business or First Class with a member of Star Alliance, meaning United Airlines, Aegean, Air Canada, Asiana, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT (Polish Airlines), Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airline, Swiss Airline, TAP (Portugal), and Turkish Airlines. The Marco Polo Airport in Venice is open daily from 5:00 am – 11:00 pm and is a smart lounge. This is also a Priority Pass lounge.
There’s tons of seating in this lounge and a media room. The food is limited but satisfactory in this lounge, and there is an outdoor patio for smokers or for guests to watch the planes in the sunshine. At lunch, there are buns with ham in them. In addition, there is a fresh green salad, a hot eggplant dish, and lasagna dishes.
In the morning, there’s decent coffee, tea, bread, and juice. You can also have complimentary beer and wine, sweet pastry desserts, and muffin-type bread.
The hot and cold snacks are fairly low-quality snacks and nothing like what you would expect in, say, a British Airways Galleries lounge. There are soft and alcoholic drinks, plus there is a shower with towels and toiletries.
You can buy the combined ticket, including both access to this VIP Lounge and Fast Track at the “SAVE Ticket Office” on the 1st floor, landside, at a price of 40 € per passenger. In all honesty, the lounge food and drink don’t justify the price tag. The expense isn’t really worth it. But if it’s free, you can have a bite and a nice coffee before your flight.
Free Airport Lounge Access
If you have not paid for Business Class or First Class, you can still access a number of brilliant lounges at Venice International Airport for a fee or for free if you have a Priority Pass. The Priority Pass Lounge at Venice Airport is this Marco Polo lounge.
Paid entrance is also sometimes possible using cash or you can get in for free if you have a Priority Pass which comes free with the Amex Platinum card. You can also access most Priority Pass lounges for free using the free American Express Gold with its two free Lounge Club passes.
