Hyatt Regency Hotels are a brand within the Hyatt hotel group that caters to all types of travelers and offers properties around the world, from city centers to airports, from Europe, across America (North and South), throughout Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Hyatt is one of the world’s best hotel brands, with a global portfolio of more than 500 hotels and resorts across 12 distinctive brands. We have reviewed the best Andaz hotels, the best Park Hyatt hotels, the best Hyatt Regency hotels and the best Hyatt Centric hotels. Other brands within the Hyatt portfolio include Alila, Hyatt House, Hyatt Zilara & Ziva, Hyatt Residence Club, Hyatt Place, and the Unbound Collection by Hyatt.
Hyatt Regency was one of Hyatt’s very first brands of hotels and resorts. It all started in 1967 with Hyatt Regency Atlanta. As one of Hyatt’s largest brands, it has over 175 Hyatt Regency hotels. Within Hyatt Regency hotels, you can enjoy modern spaces designed for sharing, socializing, and collaborating. Think spirited restaurants and bars, vibrant event venues, and their trademark atrium setting. Each hotel is distinct from the next.
Enjoy comfortable Regency rooms with regionally inspired artwork and spacious suites with residential features. Each has essentials like cozy couches, expansive workstations, and 65-inch TVs. Hyatt Regency guestrooms in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean also contain Hyatt’s Grand Bed. The hotel’s super comfy bed is a 13-inch-thick, pillow-top Sealy Posturepedic with 250-thread-count triple sheeting and a down duvet.
With food and drink available 24 hours a day across all Hyatt Regency hotels, take a seat at the lively bar or dine at the restaurant with a regionally inspired, seasonal menu. For something simpler, grab a snack anytime in the café-style Market, usually located in the foyer. Work out in the 24/7 gym, schedule a spa treatment, or relax by a sun-drenched pool. Hyatt Regency Hotels offer all the facilities you could possibly need when you travel.
Book any Hyatt hotel with our luxury travel concierge, and you will get free Hyatt Prive benefits, similar to our VIP benefits, as well as your usual World Of Hyatt points and status benefits.
All Hyatt Regency hotels are great, but we have selected those which we think are the best in Europe below:
1. Hyatt Regency Cologne
Hyatt Regency Cologne is a stylish Hyatt Regency hotel and is one of the best in Europe. It offers unique views of the Cologne Cathedral, Old Town, and the majestic river Rhine. Ideal for both business and leisure due to its central location and proximity to Koelnmesse and the Deutz train, the hotel offers uncomplicated service, incomparable comfort, and spacious guest rooms as well as delicious international and local cuisine. The innovative Meeting Campus is ideal for spontaneous, small meetings.
The hotel features 306 guestrooms and suites, a 15m pool with adjacent whirlpool, Finnish sauna, Roman steam bath, 700 m². Puls Fitness Club & Spa, Regency Club™, concierge, room service, business services, and complimentary high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel.
In terms of dining, the hotel offers the Glashaus Restaurant & Private Dining Room, the Grissini Italian Restaurant, Sticky Fingers street food restaurant, and the Legends Bar & Terrace, offering a great variety of legendary food and drinks.
It is worth mentioning that bathroom amenities in the suites are beautifully scented Molton Brown toiletries, delicious! Globalist World of Hyatt members can have breakfast either in the club lounge or the restaurant or room service for free. The restaurant buffet is excellent and the one to go for.
2. Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill
Having spent much time in London on business, I have spent a great deal of time at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill. As one of the best Hyatt Regency hotels in Europe and one of the best luxury hotels in London, it is situated overlooking Portman Square, just a short walk from Oxford Street and Marble Arch, tucked away in upmarket Marylebone. If you know the shops in this area, you will find this hotel just behind Selfridges.
The hotel has a regal entrance with lots of white pillars and white marble in the interior. The bar and restaurant sit on one side of the foyer, and lifts to the rooms can be found off the back of the foyer.
Unsurprisingly, there are lots of references to Winston Churchill in and around the hotel. The dining within the hotel is fairly unbeatable. Savor idyllic Portman Square views from The Montagu Kitchen as you sit down to enjoy the best of British produce inspired by the National Trust’s Chartwell House and Garden in Kent. This is also where you have breakfast.
With an award-winning menu and outdoor seasonally-themed terrace, The Churchill Bar & Terrace is the perfect place to unwind with creative cocktails and light bites in a chic setting. Within the bar, there is an olde world cigar room-type feel. Inspired by Sir Winston Churchill and his wife Clementine, The Churchill Bar & Terrace offers award-winning cocktails and delicious dining in a glamorous setting tucked away behind Oxford Street. The Churchill offers craft cocktails, and many are made with their very own Churchill Craft Gin, homemade tonics, premium spirits, fine wines, and of course, all the classics.
For some of the best dining in London, try the delicious Italian fare at Locanda Locatelli, a Michelin-starred restaurant located in the hotel. Locanda Locatelli features a menu of Italian-inspired cuisine, which has earned the acclaimed chef Giorgio Locatelli a Michelin star. The fresh, flavorful menu shines amid the chic ambiance. Enjoy the homemade pasta, roasted monkfish, slow-cooked suckling pig, and more. Enhance your meal with a glass of fine Italian wine curated by the sommelier Virgilio Gennaro. The food here is fabulous. The best lobster I have ever had.
Globalist members get free access to the club lounge, where you also get a decent offering at breakfast and dinner and snacks and drinks throughout the day. While the lounge is pleasant, it is not the best club lounge in London. The view is lacking, and the dinner offering becomes a scrum with lots of elbows as people push in to grab something from the dishes available. That said, this is still a nice facility and is separated into a family and an adults-only lounge for a quieter place to work.
Rooms are fairly standard by London standards. The nicest views overlook Portman Square. The amenities are Molton Brown and are really nice.
3. Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée
Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée is a great hotel and base to explore Nice and the Côte d’Azur. There is so much to see, from parks and gardens to architecture to art galleries and theatre. The music scene is as cool and varied as the shopping and includes the annual Jazz festival on Golfe Juan. The shopping is out of this world and includes everything from the weekly bric-a-brac market through serious antiques and collectibles to every top designer label under the sun if you go down the coast to Cannes.
Le Palais has been at the center of life on the Promenade des Anglais, Baie des Anges, for almost a century. It has been a glittering ballroom and a casino before its rebirth as a luxury hotel. Everyone who was anyone during France’s golden age of culture has stayed, played, or performed here, from Edith Piaf to Yves Montand and Johnny Hallyday. Remodeled and reopened as a hotel in 2004, le Palais retains its Art Deco, classically inspired façade.
Within the shell, though, there now exists a separate world of luxury befitting its prime location on the Côte d’Azur. Beyond the beautiful and cool lobby lies an excellent hotel in one of the world’s premier locations.
So, what about the hotel? There are two designs apparent in the guest rooms at Hyatt Regency Nice. Both are contemporary takes on the Art Deco origins of Le Palais, but they have separate designers. We liked the warm tones of the fabrics in the slightly older design, which are a little richer than the more northern European and slightly spare designs in the other, more recently refurbished rooms.
At 45 m², the Deluxe King is a generous room. There are sea view and city view rooms, and really, a sea view is a must here, so be sure to specify. We would also recommend asking for a high floor (9th is highest and best) as the facade impedes the view of the sea more on the lower floors. All sea-view rooms enjoy a balcony, which is just the best place in the world for breakfast. There are some amazing feature suites, and the 9th-floor suites have terraces with stunning panoramic views.
In-house dining options here are simple. There is one bar/lounge and a restaurant adjacent to the terrace on the third floor. When the weather allows, which is often, this is one of the best views you’ll find from a hotel poolside terrace bar. The indoor bar is equally atmospheric and a perfect place to enjoy Champagne and canapés any time of day. As there is no Regency Club here, Globalist of World Of Hyatt members staying here receive a complimentary drink with a generous limit.
In terms of leisure facilities, Hyatt Regency Nice has a very pretty terrace on the third-floor level. It houses a large free-form swimming pool, which is part indoor and part outdoor, with a connecting channel so that you can swim between the two. The outdoor pool terrace and bar is a very cool place to sit and sip champagne and cocktails, overlooking the promenade. There is also a fitness room equipped with good quality equipment, although it is quite small.
4. Hyatt Regency Chantilly, Near Paris

Close to Chantilly and Senlis towns, you will be near many attractions, including the Chateau de Chantilly and its prestigious horse racecourses.
While this property is beautiful, it is some way from Paris, so it isn’t awfully handy in terms of location, although it is a rather nice airport hotel.

A stay in one of the hotel’s Regency Club guestrooms, and you will get all the benefits of this luxurious lounge, from deluxe amenities to five-star service, or you get free access if you are a World of Hyatt Globalist.
8. Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki
Described by many as an oasis in the midst of chaos, Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki offers spacious and comfortable guestrooms, authentic Greek specialty foods, and the largest Casino in the Balkans, as well as a superb outdoor pool. There are three classes of rooms, and then they have suites. All are fairly decent, as is the breakfast buffet at Ambrosia Restaurant.
