Book A Hotel

Which are the best luxury hotels in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with executive club lounges? Our list includes Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo, InterContinental Sao Paulo, Marriott Executive Apartments Sao Paulo, Renaissance Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo Airport Marriott Hotel, Sheraton Santos, and Sheraton Sao Paulo WTC Hotel.

Sao Paulo is the largest city in South America and Brazil’s cultural capital, with a thriving theatre, opera, dance, and music scene. Shop for Brazilian designers and high-end gifts in the Jardins district, splash the cash at one of the city’s elegant malls, or mix with the locals in the market on Rua 25 de Marco in the downtown Centro area. For sophisticated bars and restaurants, head to Vila Madalena or dance the night away in Vila Olimpia.

Our top pick for the best luxury hotel is Four Seasons Sao Paulo which is also one of the best Four Seasons in South America, but none of these hotels offer executive club lounges.

Most luxury hotels do not have executive club lounges or concierge floors, with lounges offering complimentary food and drink. It is worth picking a hotel with an executive club lounge so that you can benefit from all the free food and drink offered up in the lounge, as well as the luxurious rooms, setting, and service offered by these wonderful hotels.

1. InterContinental São Paulo

The InterContinental São Paulo is located in the Jardins area of the city which feels safe and is close to good restaurants, shops and the subway public transport system. The foyer is smart with a rough stone wall behind the reception and an interior design that reminds me of InterContinenal O2 in London which we have also reviewed.

The rooms are also similar to those at the London O2, modern and fairly generic but luxurious and large with a marble bathroom. There is a nice gym and a smart outdoor pool with seats around it, but the weather is not always suitable to use this facility.

The executive club lounge is smart with creamy and brown furnishings and can be found at the top of the building. Here, Club Room guests can enjoy breakfast, afternoon refreshments, and drinks and snacks during the evening happy hour. During this cocktail happy hour, expect plates of sandwiches, pizza, and veggies along with wine, beer, and sparkling wine but no Champagne.

You can see what we have experienced in terms of food and drink at the club lounge at InterContinental O2 in London and the club lounge at InterContinental Park Lane which will give you an idea of what to expect. This will undoubtedly be one of the best club lounges in the city, with a substantial hot and cold buffet and a la carte breakfast and evening canapes and alcoholic drinks.

2. Grand Hyatt São Paulo

Grand Hyatt São Paulo is nestled in the city’s vibrant business district, close to many of São Paulo’s top restaurants, shopping centers, and attractions. The area around the hotel feels fairly safe during the day and early evening. You can walk to the mall, World Trade Center, and to both the Morumbi and Berrini train stations, which offer services several times a day. To get around the city, you can take the subway into the city and walkabout.

Spacious rooms feature modern amenities and locally inspired décor. Enhance your stay with a Grand Suite, which includes a separate living area, Grand Club® access, and panoramic city views.

Find peace and tranquility in the heart of Brazil’s most populous city at Amanary Spa. Choose from a variety of soothing facials, therapeutic massages, and invigorating body treatments to relax the mind and body. The facility features seven treatment rooms, a sauna, a heated indoor pool, and a fitness center.

A highlight of this hotel is the Grand Club® Lounge which is located on the 20th floor and provides comfort and convenience for guests of the Club and Suite categories. Along with high ceilings and breathtaking city views, the lounge offers complimentary continental breakfast, high-speed internet access, cocktails, and appetizers. Within the lounge, the continental breakfast and evening food is very good and better than most American Grand Hyatt club lounges. All drinks, including alcohol, are complimentary.

Unwind after a busy day in São Paulo, or soak up the Brazilian sunshine at the pristine outdoor pool. Visit this urban oasis steps from your room, with relaxing lounge chairs, shady umbrellas, built-in fountains, and lush gardens.

3. Renaissance Sao Paulo

The Renaissance Sao Paulo Hotel is the best Marriott in Sao Paulo and is a luxury hotel located in the charming Jardins neighborhood, just a few steps away from the iconic Paulista Avenue. Multifunctional rooms and suites feature a flat-screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi access, luxury bedding, and breathtaking views of Sao Paulo.

There’s a Wellness Floor with an excellent gym with great weightlifting and cardio, equipment, and an outdoor swimming pool. The Spa will refresh your body and mind during your stay, and you can fill up in their on-site restaurants.

This is easily one of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Sao Paulo. Platinum members are reportedly often upgraded to corner rooms which offer stunning views across Sao Paulo from the bathtub and bedroom.

While there is security at this hotel, the area feels safe, and the hotel is close to nightlife, and a quarter of an hour walk from MASP Museum and shopping malls with good and cafes restaurants.

The executive lounge here is great, with a full breakfast 7 days a week that includes eggs, cold cuts, cheese, pastries, coffee machine, juices, yogurts, cans of soft drinks, and water. Hot dishes include fresh omelets made to order.

In the evening, happy hour is served with lots of hot and cold dishes, including Brazilian hot dishes, pasta, soup, chips, salads. Free alcohol includes beer, wine, and sparkling wine.

4. Sheraton Santos

Sheraton Santos Hotel is a Rewards Category 3 Marriott Bonvoy hotel and is located in the heart of the city. Sheraton Santos Hotel features a skyway to the Praiamar Shopping mall, which comprises stores, restaurants, and entertainment options.

Only two blocks away is the city’s renowned 5-kilometer beachfront garden. Nearby are the Municipal Aquarium, the Mendes Convention Center, the Pelé Museum, and the Port of Santos, one of the busiest in Latin America.

With 212 rooms and suites, this hotel in Santos offers guests 5-star amenities, such as 24-hour room service, drinks at the Lobby Bar, and an authentic Portuguese restaurant. Exercise in the well-equipped fitness center, relax in the indoor pool, and be pampered in the massage room.

This hotel has an executive club lounge, but there are no reviews or reports on how this lounge compares to other executive club lounges in Sao Paulo.

5. Marriott Executive Apartments Sao Paulo

Marriott Executive Apartments Sao Paulo is set in the quiet and residential area of Vila Nova Conceicao. These spacious apartments are conveniently located close to Itaim Bibi district, where you can find top-quality shops and a variety of restaurants next to Faria Lima Avenue, Vila Olimpia, Berrini, and Paulista business areas.

Whether you are looking for one, two, or three bedrooms, these apartments in Sao Paulo offer fully-equipped kitchens, comfortable seating and workspaces, and high-speed Internet access.

Start your day off right with a free breakfast at the Quench Restaurant. This breakfast is free for everyone staying and is provided instead of an executive club lounge. Additional on-site amenities include an upscale lap pool, fitness center, and meeting rooms.

6. Sheraton Sao Paulo WTC Hotel

Sheraton Sao Paulo WTC Hotel is a Rewards Category 4 Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Sao Paulo with an outdoor pool and fitness center. The nearest airport is Congonhas Airport, 6 km from Sheraton São Paulo WTC Hotel.

There’s a bar and private parking on site. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, toiletries, and a hairdryer. There is a 24-hour front desk, hairdressers, and gift shop at the building. Free bicycles are provided too.

The bad news is that this Sheraton is a bit dated. Book an Executive Room, and you can check-in on the 4th floor into the rather basic rooms. The hotel has two lounges, the Design Lounge on the 4th floor and Club-lounge on the 15th floor. Both have very similar offerings with a fridge full of soft drinks and water. Breakfast is served in the 15th-floor Club lounge 7 days a week, and premium Marriott Bonvoy members (Platinum, etc.) can take breakfast in the restaurant, which is of a similar quality to the club lounge breakfast. In the evenings, there are light bites and no hot dishes, beer, and spirits but no wine.

This hotel is best described as adequate with a club lounge, but if you have the choice, but the Renaissance is the better choice overall.

7. Sao Paulo Airport Marriott Hotel

The Sao Paulo Airport Marriott Hotel is actually located in the city of Guarulhos, which is an industrial city in the São Paulo metro. There is nothing to do in the area, so this is not an ideal area to base yourself in if you are a tourist wanting to explore Sao Paulo.

If you do decide to stay at Sao Paulo Airport Marriott Hotel, which is ideal for the airport, this Rewards Category 3 hotel is located just five minutes from Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International airport. It feels very safe as it is in a gated compound, with security at the entrances. Take a complimentary shuttle to this hotel from Terminal 2 or 3 arrivals level (hotel shuttles area). It comes around every 20 minutes.

Keep up with your fitness routine in the fully-equipped gym with complimentary fitness classes, play your favorite sport at the sports court, or take a swim in the outdoor pool.

There’s an Executive Lounge that you can access if you book into their executive rooms and suites, or you can enjoy breakfast at the Cafe Deville and stop by the Atrium Lobby bar in the evening for a happy hour with live music.

This executive club lounge is open Sunday to Friday, 6:00 am – 10:00 pm but is closed on Saturdays. Expect a continental breakfast and free evening alcoholic drinks and light bites. Soft drinks can be enjoyed throughout the day, but the evening food is fairly limited to things like finger sandwiches or desserts similar to most Marriotts, plus alcohol is mainly beer and wine.
