Which are the best Marriott Bonvoy luxury hotels in Australia? In Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, and beyond? The Marriott brand includes Luxury Collection, EDITION, St Regis, W Hotels, JW Marriott, and mid-range brands like Autograph Collection, Renaissance, Sheraton, Le Meridien, Design Hotels, and Westin.
1. The Ritz-Carlton Sydney
There is an impressive Ritz-Carlton, which was due to open in Sydney in 2020. As yet, this Ritz-Carlton has not opened, but this will be one of the best hotels in Sydney when it does finally launch. Ritz-Carlton are some of the best hotels in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, and they usually offer club lounges, too. In the meantime, you might want to have a read of the best club lounges in Sydney to help you make your decision on where to stay in this wonderful city.
Sydney’s new Ritz-Carlton hotel will soar above The Star at Pyrmont when it opens, with 220 six-star hotel rooms and a further 200 elite residences in the 61 story tower. The development has been designed by architectural firm FJMT, with company director Richard Francis-Jones saying, “our vision is for a beautifully sculpted architecture that will seem to grow from the great sandstone of Pyrmont.”
Newly released concept images hint at what we can expect from this new Ritz-Carlton. The $500 million USD project will see the elite residences situated below the hotel rooms, with a shared Sky Lobby boasting a signature restaurant with stunning harbor views.
An adjoining ‘ribbon development’ will boast three amazing pools, two with views, plus two gymnasiums, a spa, and a wellness center.

2. The Ritz-Carlton, Perth
The Ritz-Carlton, Perth cuts a striking silhouette along the Swan River. Set within a stunning building on Elizabeth Quay, the hotel overlooks the river, skyline, and urban parks.
The beauty and bounty of Western Australia are celebrated through culinary experiences highlighting local ingredients, a river-view infinity pool, and a luxury spa featuring bespoke pampering rituals.
Highlights of this hotel include a wonderful outdoor heated infinity pool overlooking Elizabeth Quay, a Spa featuring holistic treatments, a rooftop bar with shared plates, cocktails, and a sunset view, and there’s a signature restaurant showcasing fresh, local ingredients. Luxurious rooms and suites with skyline and river views make the rooms here hard to beat.
The Ritz-Carlton Perth has a fantastic club lounge (all Ritz-Carlton hotels do), including a dedicated concierge, in-room check-in and club lounge check-out, complimentary culinary presentations throughout the day, complimentary pressing upon arrival, and freshly brewed coffee or tea in your room or suite.
3. Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection
Definitely one of the best Marriott hotels in Sydney is Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection is a Rewards Category 5 Marriott Bonvoy hotel with breath-taking views of Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection is located directly on the waterfront, with harbor views throughout the hotel, in the rooms, restaurants, and event spaces. Explore top attractions nearby, including The Rocks, Barangaroo Reserve, and Sydney Observatory.
Settle into modern guest rooms featuring plush bedding, premium amenities, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Elevate your 5-star hotel experience in a spacious suite with a private balcony. For relaxation, stay fit in the 24-hour fitness center, take a stroll along their pier, or take in gorgeous harbor views as you savor contemporary Australian cuisine at their award-winning restaurant.
4. Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park
The Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park is a Rewards Category 5 Marriott Bonvoy hotel and is right across the street from Sydney’s Hyde Park and, conveniently, right next to the St. James metro stop.
It is around a 20-minute walk from Circular Quay for the Opera House and ferries to ship you around the harbor. It is part of the Marriott Bonvoy chain, so you can earn and burn your Marriott Bonvoy points here. It is, in our humble opinion, the best Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Sydney, at least until the Ritz-Carlton comes on the scene.
Book a Sheraton Club Room at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park, and you get to enjoy the hotel’s executive club lounge located on Level 21. The nicest thing about this lounge is the views of Hyde Park, St Mary’s Cathedral, and Sydney’s Harbour Heads, as well as the complimentary breakfast and extensive evening snacks.
Rooms here have been recently refurbished, and the bathrooms are particularly nice, making this the top Bonvoy hotel choice in Sydney. The hotel also has a large gym and spa on the top floor. The location of the Marriott Sydney, reviewed below, is arguably better, but we much prefer the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.
If views are a dealbreaker, you must definitely book the Sheraton and its club lounge over the Marriott and its club lounge, as the Marriott club lounge doesn’t have the views, plus the outdoor section of the Sheraton lounge and the sheer quality of food makes this hotel a great choice.
5. Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay
Bonvoy hotels in Sydney also include Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay is a Rewards Category 5 Marriott Bonvoy hotel. This is a decent hotel in a great location and is a good way to spend your Bonvoy points when in Sydney if the Sheraton outlined above doesn’t work for you. The hotel is right next to Circular Quay with Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Rocks, and Sydney Opera House on your doorstep, plus it is just 2 -3 minutes walk from the Sydney Metro.
This is not an ultra-luxury hotel, but if you upgrade your room to a bridge view or an Opera House view, you will enjoy a pretty incredible experience. Rooms are a decent size but are an uninspiring mix of greys, but the views are stunning if you get one. There is also a decent gym, an indoor swimming pool, plenty of outdoor alfresco bars and eateries, and indoor options.
The club lounge or executive lounge here doesn’t have views but has a great breakfast and evening food. The executive lounge is on the first floor (floor 2) of the hotel, and it can be very, very busy, so busy at breakfast that it can be hard (but not impossible) to find a seat. The ambiance is poor, with an extensive dining area and the lounging area.

8. Brisbane Marriott Hotel
The Brisbane Marriott Hotel has a club lounge and is a Bonvoy point earn and burn hotel in Category 4. It is also cheaper on points than the W, which we have reviewed above.
This 5-star luxury hotel is situated right in the hub of Brisbane city, between the CBD and the trendy cafes, restaurants, and boutiques of Fortitude Valley. Brisbane Marriott Hotel is also superbly located next to Brisbane’s best riverfront dining, shopping, and transport facilities.

Additionally, they will also receive complimentary continental breakfasts, evening drinks, canapés, and desserts, all served in the elegant and sophisticated Executive Lounge. Located on the 26th floor, this exclusive area is a place where guests can enjoy the little luxuries whilst relaxing in a very stylish and comfortable environment overlooking the beautiful views of Brisbane.”
Brisbane Marriott hotel is also home to a world-recognized day spa, The Dome Spa Retreat. Open 7-days per week, this is a popular spa for brides and their bridesmaids to get pampered for the wedding. For guests looking to rest and relax, the hotel’s Grecian-inspired pool deck is the perfect area for guests to take some time out. It features a spa, sauna, sundeck, a fully equipped gymnasium, and stunning views of the Story Bridge.
Executive rooms are all on the hotel’s upper floors and include access to the Executive Lounge, which takes up most of the 26th floor and is open from 6:00 am to midnight seven days a week. The lounge itself is a bit sterile with comfy but functional chairs, tables, magazines, and newspapers available, but the food is decent. Breakfast is served 6:00 – 10:00 am and offers a wide range of cereals, cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, and fruit.
In the evening, canapes and nibbles, beer, wine, and spirits are available but being that the environment is not super snazzy, you are better off staying at the Sofitel in Brisbane. In the Marriott, coffee, tea, and light refreshments are available throughout the day, but the main advantage is the glorious view across Brisbane. In most other ways, this lounge is rather average.
9. The Westin Brisbane
The Westin Brisbane is a Rewards Category 4 Marriott Bonvoy hotel that has a city-center location, with a superb outdoor pool and a location near corporate offices and popular attractions, including the Botanic Gardens, Suncorp Stadium, and the Treasury Casino.

Relax after a busy day in the spa, work out in the hotel’s 24-hour fitness center, or take a dip in the glittering rooftop pool. Popular dining options include the first swim-up pool bar in Brisbane, a Jazz bar, and a signature restaurant with private dining.
