Location
This hotel is located directly behind the Peloponnesian coast’s Kourouta beach. The hotel area is quiet and mainly made up of agricultural land, hillsides of olive groves, and vineyards. The town of Amaliada is just northeast, while the wider Peloponnese peninsula offers a plethora of archaeological sites, wineries, and historic cities, including the Unesco World Heritage-listed Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.
Best Time To Visit
Greece’s climate is one of the best in Europe, and the warmest weather is between late May and early October when it’s sunny, hot, and the water is perfect for swimming. Dexamenes is a seasonal resort that operates from April to October.
How To Get There
The nearest city is Patras, which is around 1 hour’s drive away. Patras is Greece’s third-largest city. It has a local airport, a railway station, and a port where you can catch a ferry to the Ionian islands. The nearest international airports are the airport of Kalamata and Athens. Athens is a hefty 3 to 4 hours drive away, and it is definitely easier to travel around this area with your own private car rental.

K-Studio designed the entire resort and has cleverly integrated modern luxury into the building’s post-war industrial heritage.
Service & Facilities
You will probably come to this hotel for its proximity to the beach. You literally step out onto the sand, particularly from the sea-facing rooms. You will stay for the laid-back vibe and peace and quiet.
Rooms
Dexamenes offers two types of accommodation. The Beachfront Villa and the WineTank Suites.
The Beachfront Villa is set within a grand two-story neoclassical villa on the beach. The Beachfront Villa was once a wine chemistry lab and now offers 240m² of luxury on the beachfront. Consisting of 3 bedrooms, one kitchen, a private exterior lounge area, and its private sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, the Beachfront Villa can be the ideal place for 2 families. On the first floor are two identical and independent 60m² luxury suites, while the ground floor is a fully equipped room with 3 double bunk beds (with a capacity for 6 people) and the kitchen. All rooms have direct access and a view towards the sea.
The WineTank Suites offer the unusual experience of sleeping inside old wine tanks from the 1920s, which have now been minimally reanimated with steel, engineered glass, timber, and a clean-lined aesthetic. 34 ex WineTanks have been converted into Suites, categorized in three different types: Beachfront-, Courtyard-, and Backyard WineTank Suites. The main difference between the various types is the location of each tank.
Beachfront WineTank Suites have a straight view of the Sea. Wake up, open the curtains and let the breeze of the Ionian Sea come in. Courtyard WineTank Suites have Courtyard views. The Courtyard consists of two signature silo tanks, the pond framing them, and the hotel’s vineyard. Backyard WineTank Suites feature a slightly smaller patio than the other types, have limited views, but they are calm and more private. All WineTank suites offer a 30m² interior (322ft²) plus a 15m² patio (161ft²). They have 1 king + 1 single bed (sleeps up to 3), a shower, and double sinks.
Food & Drink
Diners are invited to indulge in Greek cuisine at the taverna and a selection of wines, cocktails, and spirits at the bar lounge. The chefs here constantly meet young locals that farm and produce what the local land has been offering its inhabitants for centuries. The hotel uses produce from young and conscious farmers who vote against the cruel practices of the massive food industry.
The kitchen prepares a variety of choices from breakfast to dinner that vary from degustation menus to hyperlocal meals with traditional references, putting in high priority the dietary preferences of each guest. Food is served at the Beachfront Bar, the “Ex-Engine Room” Restaurant, and The Beach.
