My most recent trip back from Lech via Zurich Airport took me through Terminal A, where I used my Priority Pass to access the Swiss Star Alliance Senator Airport Lounge in Zurich Airport Terminal A. I was, therefore, able to put together a review (including photos) of this lounge before returning to London Heathrow on British Airways. Of note, this lounge can be accessed by First Class SWISS, Lufthansa und Star Alliance, HON Circle, Miles & More Senator, Star Alliance Gold, and, of course, Priority Pass.
The Swiss Star Alliance Senator lounge sits to the right of the main shopping area once you have passed through security. The entry level is on the same level as the upper shopping area. You then head up a level (stairs or lift) to a large lounge area and then up yet another level to the bar, which is all smoking.
The ambiance in this lounge is affluent, with a large portion of the travelers being business travelers. The stylish look is made up of a dark wooden floor, seating around tables towards the back, which intermingles with the food offering, and then black leather sofa-style seating underneath high, airy ceilings at the front with muted lighting. The dining seating area has views of the back of the airport.
The food offering is extensive and spread over two food and drinks buffet areas. The food offered in the afternoon included beef or kep cream soup, sandwiches (cheese and tuna), fresh rolls, and carrot cake. Snacks on offer included crisps, olives, pickles, biscuits (speculaas and chocolate digestive) and, a large bowl of Ferrero Rocher, an array of fruit (bananas, tangerines, apples). Any drink you could possibly want is also available, from sparkling water to juices, beers, and spirits coffee machines.
On the top floor sits a large bar area, which is also a smoking area. There is a long, thin bar to one side of the room with bar stools and a sofa seating area as you enter.
You can see some of what was available in the pictures above. Suffice it to say that with its extensive food and drink offering and plenty of room to sit down with or without tables, this is a great choice of lounge at Zurich Airport.
