There’s plenty of choice within the Marriott brand, including top brands like the Luxury Collection, EDITION, St Regis, W Hotels, and JW Marriott, as well as mid-range brands like their Autograph Collection, Renaissance, Sheraton, Le Meridien, Design Hotels, and their Westin collections.
We have already reviewed the best luxury hotels in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the best Marriott hotels in Buenos Aires. Of note, there is no Ritz-Carlton or St. Regis in Buenos Aires, in fact, there are very few Marriotts in Argentina at all.
1. Park Tower, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Buenos Aires
Park Tower, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Buenos Aires is a Marriott Bonvoy Rewards Category 5 hotel. It shares the same building as the Sheraton Convention Center reviewed below and is the best Marriott Bonvoy in Buenos Aires.
From the clock tower at Plaza San Martín to the Rio de la Plata coastline, find a city intimately attuned to indigenous experiences. At La Boca, take a photo of colorful zinc shacks along the Riachuelo River. At Puerto Madero, discover a distinguished dockside with redbrick buildings, refined steakhouses, and Puente de la Mujer, an iconic suspension bridge worthy of your social media. When you debark the ferry from Montevideo, Uruguay, unwind with exquisite spa services.
This five-star hotel offers valet parking, two pools, a fitness center, and fine dining on the second floor with scenic views of Alem Street. Make Torre Monumental the backdrop to your meeting or wedding, and cherish similar cityscapes from a private terrace. Hotel suites include walk-in closets, safes, kitchens, and separate living spaces. Refresh from a marble bathroom and rest on a pillow-top mattress.
This hotel has a super club lounge for breakfast and evening treats, plus you can also (apparently) access the Sheraton club lounge of the Sheraton Convention Center on the 22nd floor, which is a hotel housed in the same building and which offers the best array of evening food.
2. Sheraton Convention Center
Sheraton Convention Center is a Rewards Category 4 hotel. This five-star hotel is a launchpad into San Telmo, Palermo, Puerto Madero, and other neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Take Estación Retiro to the National Museum of Fine Arts, Recoleta Cemetery, or The Teatro Colón. See the international side of Argentina’s capital at Jardín Japonés and corporate offices such as American Express and Mitsubishi.
In terms of dining, refuel at Buono Italian Kitchen, enjoy a cocktail at Doce25 and work out at Sheraton Fitness, their gym with resistance bands, free weights, and a row of treadmills facing the outdoor pool and sun deck.
Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center has an executive club lounge on the top floor. Their club breakfast is pretty extensive, with a small but full buffet, including omelet, which can get very busy. Coffee and snacks are available throughout the day.
There is plenty of food at the Sheraton club lounge in the evening, enough to fill you up, but there are no hot food, and the sweet dishes are nicer than the savory ones. There is also free red and white wine, although other alcohol costs (non-alcoholic drinks are free). The highlight is, however, the spectacular view over the Retiro station and the Recoleta neighborhood from the lounge.
3. Hotel Panamericano Buenos Aires
Hotel Panamericano Buenos Aires is a Rewards Category 5 hotel with brilliant views to some of Buenos Aires most emblematic monuments thanks to its perfect location. The hotel can be found right in the heart of must-see attractions such as Colon Theater, the Obelisk, the Palace of Justice, century-old buildings as well, as 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest avenue in the world.
Upscale rooms feature plush mattresses and complimentary Wi-Fi. There are hearty dining options but no executive club lounge at this Marriott Bonvoy hotel.
4. Sheraton Pilar Hotel & Convention Center
Sheraton Pilar Hotel & Convention Center is a Rewards Category 4 Marriott Bonvoy hotel 30 miles outside Buenos Aires. It is worth considering if you are looking for a more resort-style hotel, as it has a great pool and sundeck.
This three-story hotel offers 140 luxurious rooms, including eight suites with views of the magnificent gardens. Find a variety of gastronomic options in three restaurants, Don Giovanni, Las Vasijas, and La Federala, or relax in their Health Club offering Hydromassage, sauna, heated pool, and gym. There is no club lounge at this Sheraton.
5. Sheraton Mendoza
While you might prefer the Park Hyatt, which is an obvious luxury hotel choice in Mendoza and is directly located on the city’s central square, the Sheraton Mendoza is a very popular choice, particularly with members of Marriott Bonvoy who are looking for an executive club lounge. This Sheraton is a category 3 Marriott Bonvoy hotel.
The Sheraton Mendoza is really nicely located around a block from the main pedestrianized Avenida Sarmiento city center with all its shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars.
In terms of dining, the Mirador Lounge and Restaurant is a highlight, and it is found on the 17th floor offering neverending city and mountain views. The hotel also has a fitness center, an indoor pool and a small spa, and a Club Lounge.
The club lounge can be found on the top floor, is open 11:00 am – 11:00 pm, and serves breakfast, snacks, and a light meal in the evening. The lounge is big enough, and the breakfast is a buffet that is good with a few hot dishes (eggs, bacon, etc.), pastries, fruit, cereals, juices, coffee, and tea. Platinum Marriott Bonvoy members can also choose to have the (better) breakfast at the restaurant on the 17th floor.
In the evening, the club level entitles you to a free glass of wine, with red or white options available, along with complimentary cheese and crackers, free soft drinks, as well as sandwiches, cold cuts, and cakes.
6. Sheraton Mar del Plata Hotel
Sheraton Mar del Plata Hotel is a Marriott Bonvoy Rewards Category 3 hotel located on Leandro N. Alem street and in front of the Golf Club Mar del Plata, with an exceptional view.
Enjoy majestic ocean views, the tranquillity of Bahía Playa Grande, the quietness of the links of the Golf Club, and the proximity of the sea. The hotel features the Neptune Spa and Wellness Center and a garden with a heated outdoor pool and an indoor pool. Each of the spacious rooms includes a TV, air conditioning, heating, a minibar, and private bathroom facilities. Some also include a seating area. There is also seafood at the on-site restaurant, Las Barcas. This Marriott Bonvoy hotel is not reported to have an executive club lounge.
7. Sheraton Salta Hotel
Sheraton Salta Hotel is a Rewards Category 2 Marriott Bonvoy hotel situated on the east end of the city. It affords us unrivaled access to a wealth of renowned attractions, such as Plaza 9 de Julio, the 20 de Febrero Monument, and the Museum of High-Altitude Archaeology.
The bad news is that the hotel is about a 30-minute walk from the main square up a hill, which means great views but a grueling trek if you are returning from sightseeing. As a consequence, their spacious rooms and suites boast amazing views, as well as marble bathrooms and flat-panel TVs.
In terms of dining, you can savor a mouthwatering dinner at Restaurant Terracota with international cuisine and fine wine. For lighter fare, Jardin del Sol, their snack bar, features a menu of small plates, as well as craft cocktails. You can also alleviate any stress from a long day with a body scrub, massage, or nail treatment from Sheraton Spa.
There is a club lounge at this Sheraton, but it reportedly does not serve alcohol, although it does have an outdoor deck. Just tea, coffee, water, and juices along with snacks and desserts, are served. Marriott Bonvoy Platinums breakfast is rather limited, too, with not many egg choices and the salads and fruit are not of great quality.
8. Sheraton Tucuman Hotel
The Sheraton Tucuman Hotel, is situated in the peaceful capital of San Miguel de Tucuman. Tour historic sites and natural wonders by day, then enjoy the city’s vibrant nightlife well past midnight. Stay on top of your workout regimen at the Sheraton Fitness, take a dip in the swimming pool, and indulge yourself with a treatment in the full-service spa.
Featuring delightful park and city views, 124 spacious guest rooms are found on eight floors and include seven Executive Suites and a Presidential Suite. Gather with family, friends, or colleagues for delicious cuisine in the international restaurant or enjoy drinks in the lobby lounge.
The Executive Lounge on the top floor boasts panoramic mountain vistas, but there have been very few reports on the food and drink offered.
