Here at Luxury Travel Diary, we love the Hyatt brand, particularly Andaz and Park Hyatt hotels. The Andaz by Hyatt is the brand’s youthful and hip offering, where check-in is via staff wandering around with iPads, the design is modern, and the lighting is moody.
Location
Andaz 5th Avenue – a Concept by Hyatt is located in Midtown Manhattan across the road from the New York public library, and in November and December, the Christmas Village is almost adjacent to Bryant Park. The hotel is only a mile from Central Park, so you can walk anywhere. Alternatively, several subway stations within two blocks, including Grand Central station.
Style & Character
The Andaz experience begins the moment you arrive through the bronze-colored doors of our midtown Manhattan hotel and are greeted by an Andaz Host. Have a drink in the bar downstairs while checking in via handheld PC or en route to your loft-style Manhattan hotel room.
Rooms
The 184 loft-style guest rooms are spacious for New York, with very comfortable beds. The high ceilings give a feeling of luxury. The marble bathrooms are very modern, with porcelain foot baths, a glass counter area with two lovely sinks, magnifying mirror, a hairdryer, rainforest showerheads, and nice amenities. Nice Andaz touches include free internet and a free minibar for soft drinks and snacks (don’t hesitate to chase if your minibar has not been refreshed). The higher rooms at this Andaz have a great view and a window seat so that you feel like you are sitting in your very own loft apartment. Forty-seven spacious suites offer private balconies or landscaped terraces.
Service & Facilities
At this Andaz, there is also a 24-hour gym, complimentary wine in the evening, complimentary waters, and coffee in the morning. Plus, there is a fun restaurant on the main level and a cool bar in the basement.
