We have already investigated the best Four Seasons golf resorts, and the best Ritz-Carlton golf resorts. Now we look exclusively at the rest of the Marriott Hotels and Resorts for golf.

Ritz-Carlton is one of the most luxurious brands within Marriott Bonvoy, so you are unlikely to go wrong if you book into one of these hotels. The Marriott brand also includes Luxury Collection, EDITION, St Regis, W Hotels, JW Marriott, which are all brilliant luxury brands. Mid-range brands include Autograph Collection, Renaissance, Sheraton, Le Meridien, Design Hotels, and Westin and can be more hit and miss for the luxury traveller.

1. The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

Located on 22 lush acres on a tranquil peninsula, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort provides guests with all the luxuries of a private, intimate hideaway where art and nature beautifully entwine. 3. Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa – Ponte Vedra Beach

Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa is ieally situated in Ponte Vedra Beach, just a short distance from Jacksonville and right next door to the famed TPC® Sawgrass golf club. Guests can enjoy exclusive privileges with the golf complex; play a round and take a lesson while you’re there.

TPC Sawgrass, adjacent to the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, is a must play for any serious golfer. The birthplace of the TPC Network, Sawgrass is owned by PGA Tour players and is known for its par 3 island green on the 17th hole. The clever design means no two consecutive holes are played in the same direction giving the course balance.

In addition to being steps from TPC® Sawgrass, the resort also showcases four sparkling pools and pampering treatments at the Sawgrass Spa. Take a short complimentary shuttle ride to their oceanfront Cabana Beach Club, which offers direct access to Ponte Vedra Beach. 4. Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Maui

The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, is situated on 54 lush acres featuring white-sand beaches and lava peninsulas. The AAA Five Diamond resort offers 463 beautiful guestrooms, including 107 Residential Suites enhanced with all new décor and kitchens, a full-service spa with a volcanic stone grotto, many dining experiences, land, and sea recreational activities with Jean-Michel Cousteau Ambassadors of the Environment, 36 holes of championship golf, direct access to D.T. Fleming Beach and a three-level swimming pool. The resort is beautiful, but it lacks a boutique feel, and as it can be windy and quiet on this side of Maui. This hotel is one of the best, but it isn’t for everyone due to the peaceful evenings and winds that frequent this side of the island.

We consider this hotel to have one of the best club lounges in Hawaii as well as a beautiful resort on the beach and an exclusive golf course. You can only get access to the club level lounge if you book a club-level room. The club lounge is located near the elevators on the resort’s eighth floor of the Napili Wing.

With emerald fairways that end in dramatic ocean views, the two 18-hole championship courses at this Maui golf resort promise the challenges and rewards of internationally acclaimed play. The Plantation Course, consistently ranked as one of Hawaii’s finest, hosts the PGA Tour’s Sentry Tournament of Champions, while the Bay Course is a player favorite. The experience is complemented by the Kapalua Golf Academy, home to the industry’s top instructors.

The Plantation Course reopened in November 2019 after a major renovation and is consistently named the Best Golf Course in Hawaii by Golfweek. It is designed by Bill Core and Ben Crenshaw and has one of the PGA Tour’s most famous finishing holes.

Other courses include the Bay Course, a player-friendly course designed by Arnold Palmer and Frances Duane, which offers ocean and island views on the 16th and 18th holes. Its 17th hole is also the only one in Maui to play over the ocean.

Kapalua Golf Academy is Hawaii’s most complete, state-of-the-art golf school and practice facility. Designed by PGA touring professional Hale Irwin, it offers lessons, clinics and offsite instruction on all aspects of the game and for all skill levels.

5. JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa

5. The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa

9. Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale

The Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale is located on the oceanfront, with the beach across a two-lane road fronting the hotel. You can reach it via a sky bridge, which will take you directly from the hotel’s 3rd floor to the public beach. The pool is on the hotel’s 7th-floor pool, surrounded by loungers and palms. The rooms aren’t noteworthy but do all have a balcony. The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge is an ultra-exclusive space open to guests at The Ritz-Carlton who book the Club Experience. The lounge is luxurious, with marble floors and large sofas.

Guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale enjoy special access to the members-only Grande Oaks Golf Course and all club amenities. Created amidst natural oak hammocks, the private, members-only Grande Oaks Golf Course is a par 71 and measures 6,680 yards from the tips. In keeping with tradition, all tees at Grande Oaks are perfectly square and are aligned to the middle of the landing area, offering various distances from which to play.

You can escape the madness in the adults-only pool, but be aware that the whole hotel is a bit crazy, particularly on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years’.
