1. Park Hyatt New York

The Park Hyatt New York is probably the most luxurious Hyatt hotel in New York, with a price tag to match. This remains an iconic and luxurious hotel to book if you are looking for a Hyatt hotel in New York.

Park Hyatt New York is the global flagship of the Park Hyatt brand, featuring 210 luxurious guest rooms, including 92 premier suites nestled within the first 25 floors of the 90-story One57 skyscraper designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Christian de Portzamparc. The hotel’s palatial guest rooms offer among the largest entry-room size of any luxury hotel in New York City at 475 ft², with a majority of deluxe rooms spanning 530 ft².

World-renowned interior design firm, Yabu Pushelberg, created the vision for the hotel’s interior design, inspired by New York’s most illustrious Upper East Side homes. In keeping with the residential feel of the hotel, each guest room is experienced as a series of chambers, with dedicated spaces for sleeping, dressing, resting, and working, defined by unique architectural screens and custom walnut millwork. Partnering with New York City icons such as Carnegie Hall and Central Park Conservancy, Park Hyatt New York offers guests a culturally authentic experience. The hotel has also partnered with luxury brand Le Labo to offer guests one-of-a-kind custom bath amenities: Tubereuse 40.

On the 25th floor, the hotel features a sun-drenched three-story aerie wrapped in blue and gold Alexis Azure stone and a pool with underwater speakers piping in a custom soundtrack from Carnegie Hall. The hotel’s signature spa, Spa Nalai, features six treatment suites, most of which include outdoor private balconies.

Guests can also enjoy world-class dining and craft cocktails in The Living Room, the hotel’s contemporary American restaurant that overlooks the historic Carnegie Hall.

2. Andaz 5th Avenue

One of the best Hyatt hotels in NYC is the Andaz 5th Avenue, which is really superb with large rooms, friendly staff, and a great location. The fact that both Andaz hotels feel so much more boutique than other hotels in Manhattan means that a stay here feels more homely and friendly than some of the larger hotels in the city.

With 184 rooms, this hotel is a boutique when compared to the Grand Hyatt in New York, which is enormous. I prefer the boutique feel of the Andaz. The hotel is located in a 1916 building that used to be the worldwide headquarters for the fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger before becoming an Andaz hotel in 2010.

The hotel is on 5th Avenue, though the main entrance is on East 41st Street, just across from the New York Public Library and Bryant Park. Other attractions that are walkable from this lovely hotel include the Empire State Building, Times Square, Grand Central Terminal, and Rockefeller Center. It takes around an hour to taxi from New York-JFK airport to the hotel and around half an hour from LaGuardia Airport (LGA). You have easy access to more than a dozen subway lines, too, ideal for exploring the rest of Manhattan and beyond.

The Andaz experience begins the moment you arrive through the bronze-colored doors of our midtown Manhattan hotel and are greeted by an Andaz Host. Have a drink in the bar downstairs while checking in via iPads. The whole experience feels very boutique, plus the welcome drink is a blessing and helps to pass the time while the process takes place. A really nice touch. Rooms are large loft-style rooms, spacious by Manhattan standards, and minimalist in design with a great bed. Rooms are between 322 and 404 ft², but the high ceilings make them feel larger. Ask for a room as high up as possible, as there is some minor street noise in the lower-level rooms. The higher rooms have a superb view and a window seat so you feel like you are sitting in your own loft apartment. 47 spacious suites offer private balconies or landscaped terraces.

As usual with Andaz hotels, nonalcoholic minibar items were complimentary. You get a few cans of soda and plenty of water bottles. Snacks are a bag of crisps and a chocolate bar with nuts. In the bathroom, there are two sinks and a great shower (again, usual for Andaz hotels, you usually need to book a suite to get a bathtub). Toiletries are from Brooklyn-based Apotheke.

There is a restaurant in the basement, “The Bar Downstairs and Kitchen”, which serves breakfast (free to Globalists or if you book via our concierge), lunch, and light bites plus drinks in the evening. Breakfast is great with dishes including warm “Lemon Souffle Pancakes” with orange poppy seed syrup, “Huevos Ranncheros”, which are sunny side up eggs with black beans, avocado, salsa Roja, cotija, cilantro, and corn tortilla. Two eggs any style with your choice of meat, hash browns, roasted tomato, griddled bread, Lobster and scrambled eggs, Avocado Toast, Egg White Omelette, as well as sliced fruit, greek yogurt, maple porridge, and bread and pastries including croissants, pan au Chocolat, Zucker’s bagel with cream cheese, blueberry muffins and white or multigrain toast.

Rather than having a club lounge, this Andaz offers complimentary coffee and tea service in the lobby lounge and a complimentary happy hour with wine each evening. There is also a decent 24-hour gym in the basement.

Overall, whether you are a Hyatt fan or not, this is a great hotel option for New York City with a boutique and trendy feel. I love the loft-style suites with terraces. They are the highlight of this hotel.

3. Hyatt Centric Wall Street

The modern Hyatt Centric Street is our top pick, as it has undergone a fabulous refurbishment and offers excellent value for a luxury stay in New York.

The boutique ambiance of this hotel also makes it a real winner in the Big Apple. So many of the hotels in New York are large and lack the personal touch. It is refreshing to be treated to the boutique feel and experience.

Ideally located for the Financial District in New York City, at the corner of Wall Street and Water Street and about a 10-minute walk to the 9/11 Memorial, the Hyatt Centric Wall Street has lovely large rooms (starting at around 345 ft²) and is a great Hyatt branded hotel choice in New York. It is also well located for tourist sites, including South Street Seaport, and access to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

The rooms here have huge windows and spacious shower suites. The windows make up one entire wall of the room and are huge. They let in loads of light. A narrow seat runs in front of them for sitting and enjoying the view. The windows also have automated blackout shades and sheer curtains to provide privacy from the building across the street.

The mini bar is free, and you also get complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day, along with muffins in the morning and chocolate-chip cookies later in the day in the lobby. There is also complimentary wine during a happy hour, all somewhat negating the need for a club lounge. If you are looking for a club lounge in New York, we have outlined the best New York Club Lounges.

The hotel’s restaurant is the Andaz Kitchen & Bar, which can be found up a short flight of stairs from the main lobby. This restaurant is open from 6:30 am – 2:00 pm and 4:00 – 11:00 pm and is closed for dinner on Sundays.

There is also a fitness center on the concourse level with well-maintained equipment and weights.

The Hyatt Centric Wall Street is one of the cheapest Hyatt hotels in New York and makes it worth putting as a top choice for your next trip to the Big Apple.

4. Hyatt Grand Central New York

The Grand Hyatt New York closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and re-opened as the Hyatt Grand Central. The best feature of the hotel was its club lounge with indoor and outdoor seating, but this lounge is no longer present at this hotel and never reopened. Apparently, this hotel is set to be demolished, but for now, it remains open and offers good rates and a central location.

Hyatt Grand Central New York is located just steps from New York’s famous Grand Central Station. This modern hotel enjoys a convenient midtown location and a lively atmosphere. Connected to the iconic Grand Central Terminal, you’ll be staying within walking distance of Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, and the world-class shopping of Fifth Avenue.

Do not expect a boutique experience at this hotel. It is massive with 1,300+ rooms, but it is indeed “grand” and centrally located on 42nd between Lexington and Park, which means it is easy to get anywhere in the city from this hotel.

The hotel used to have one of the best club lounges in New York but not for not. Rooms vary in size and are fine but not noteworthy. Every room features the Hyatt Grand Bed™.

5. Hyatt Centric Times Square New York

Hyatt Centric Times Square is a vibrant, contemporary Manhattan hotel located right in the heart of New York City in Times Square. It’s the perfect launchpad from which to discover everything the Big Apple has to offer. From here, you can explore the theatre district, midnight billboard activations, enjoy strolls in Central Park, visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or take in a show at Radio City Music Hall.

Hyatt Centric Times Square features 487 well-appointed apartment-style city-view rooms and suites, 2,000 ft². Cutting-edge fitness center, restaurant, concierge, 24-hour business center, room service, and complimentary internet access.

In terms of dining, guests can try the T45 Kitchen + Bar, which serves globally inspired American cuisine incorporating local ingredients served in a cozy chic setting inside or out.

King City View Rooms have unique views of the Times Square area. These rooms also feature floor-to-ceiling windows, Hyatt Grand Bed™ with plush pillow-top mattress, 40-inch or larger LED TV, individually controlled heat and air-conditioning, refrigerator, Keurig coffeemaker with Starbucks® Coffee, free bottled water, safe, JBL Horizon Bluetooth Clock Radio and an ensuite bathroom with rain shower, Marilyn Monroe Spa bath amenities and Drybar Buttercup blow-dryers. Everything you need for a perfect vacation or staycation in New York.

Other Hyatt hotels in New York include Hotel 50 Bowery, Hyatt Herald Square New York, Parker New York, Hyatt Union Square New York, Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson, Hyatt Regency Morristown, Hyatt Regency Greenwich, and Hyatt Regency New Brunswick.
