To sample some classic American history, albeit with a contemporary refresh, how about a stay at Provincetown’s luxurious Historic Crowne Pointe Inn? Provincetown is at the furthest point of the Cape Cod peninsula.
Location
The town has a bohemian, artistic vibe, with art galleries and independent shops to be explored. With stunning coastline, sand dunes, and whale watching, there’s plenty to keep you occupied away from the town itself too. Flying from London to Boston takes a little over 7 hours, and you can either connect and fly directly to Provincetown (taking just half an hour) or, for the more scenic option, make use of the ferry, which takes an hour and a half.
Style & Character
The Historic Crowne Pointe Inn & Spa is a beautifully restored Cape Cod Sea Captain’s estate turned boutique hotel. The décor offers a romantic feel, with original features and traditional design sitting perfectly in this stunning hotel. The outside is just as beautiful, too; a landscaped courtyard and plenty of spots to sit and relax in the sun or shade. To protect the relaxed policy, no children or pets are allowed!
Rooms
There are 35 rooms spread across six historic buildings on this impressive estate. Many feature fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. With queen or king-sized beds, oversized hypoallergenic down pillows, and 450-thread count bed linens, you can be sure of a good night’s sleep! The rooms include LED TVs with DVD players and access to the movie library, Keurig coffee makers, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The most impressive of the rooms has to be the 2-storey Penthouse Residence which offers panoramic views of the town and a large sun deck.
Service & Facilities
Food & Drink
The Pointe Restaurant and Wine Bar offer fine dining with a modern coastal influence. The vibrant atmosphere makes it a leading choice for locals and visitors alike. Fresh, local ingredients are sourced daily to create alluring and delicious dishes. The menu includes a range of seafood options, beef and pork items, and vegetarian options, which is something for everyone. The award-winning wine list is also not to be missed, and neither are the cocktails served in the Pointe Bar.
The beautiful grounds include a heated dipping pool and heated 10-person hot tub – perfect to soak those cares away. A must for your time here is a visit to the award-winning Shui Spa – Exclusively Kiehl’s (the first independent hotel spa to offer an amazing range of Kiehl’s products and services). The spa is a tranquil, heavenly experience, with a warm mineral-soaking tub at the heart, a sauna and steam room, and full-service treatment rooms where you will be pampered and rejuvenated. All the treatments use Kiehl’s Skin Care Products, featuring the finest naturally derived ingredients. You really will leave an altogether more relaxed version of yourself!
Conclusion
Don’t miss the wine and cheese hour that the hotel hosts at 5:00 pm, the perfect start to your evening.
