The Linton Court Haylofts, built in 1780, are two historic yet beautifully restored boltholes right in the center of the historic Yorkshire Market Town of Settle.
Location
Linton Court Coach House is close to areas of outstanding natural beauty, such as Malhamdale, Grassington, and the Forest of Bowland. More importantly, the location is only a relatively short distance from the Lake District and even closer to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Settle is also home to the world-famous Settle to Carlisle railway. The 72-mile route takes you on a journey through the magnificent Yorkshire Dales over the 24 arches of the Ribble Viaduct through the Eden Valley before arriving at the border city of Carlisle.
Rooms
The Hayloft apartments sleep two, and both have wood burners to keep you warm on the cooler evenings. Each apartment is accessed through its own private door and stairs. Both are situated on the 1st floor of the converted Coach House.
Everything is new in the apartments, and for weekly stays, Samantha leaves superb “Welcome Packs” and fresh flowers, charcoal grey towels, and fluffy white robes. Stay as a couple for a romantic break, or come along with friends.
Service & Facilities
Parking is available in the main square in the center of Settle (except on Tuesday market day) or in Ashfield Car Park – both a short walk away. Both the apartments are set back from the road in a private graveled courtyard, where you can sit out on sunny days and evenings, very close to the market square of charming old Settle.
Walking, cycling, riding & caving are just some of the activities available locally. There are often concerts at Victoria Hall in the evenings, and in some of the pubs, there are regular folk and jazz evenings.
Food & Drink
You have the best of all worlds just outside the door; restaurants, including Italian and Indian, pubs, shops, and a market. If you don’t want to make your own breakfast, you can be catered to less than a minute away from Linton Court.
Conclusion
If you are looking for luxury self-catering in Yorkshire, with biking, walking, good food and coffee shops on the doorstep, and a short drive to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, you must consider this much loved and wonderfully located boutique retreat.
