Alexander House
Alexander House and grounds offer a stunning, luxurious retreat with lots of lovely communal areas and immaculate grounds. If you rent the house, there’s a huge open-plan living and cooking space, a vast grand dining room, and a games room. Outdoors you’ll find a BBQ and dining area, a heated swimming pool with a glass retractable cover and a covered hot tub, as well as an outdoor fire pit, sunken trampoline, outdoor children’s play area, and a 5-a-side football pitch.
The house sleeps 21 across 9 bedrooms and there’s also a self-contained annex for 4. A wonderful option for a group traveling together is to rent both and the 2 acres of land that comes with them for exclusive use and totally take over this little corner of Scotland. This works equally well for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, he dos, or just as an excuse to get together!
The house can be taken as catered or self-catered so you can choose whichever suits you best, depending on how much you want to be looked after and how many budding chefs are within your party. Catered activity breaks are also on offer as well as weekend and short breaks throughout the year.
Alexander House Glamping
If glamping is your idea of rural paradise then you can stay in one of two luxury Yurts with ensuite bathrooms and hot tubs. There are also two cozy Horse Lorries also with ensuite bathrooms and hot tubs, both of which offer stunning views and little luxuries, perfect for a nature escape in the Scottish hills.
Staying in the yurts is definitely glamping and not camping. You have your own king-size bed with a sprung mattress, luxury feather duvet and pillows, and crisp white linens. There’s even an electric blanket for chilly nights. Each yurt sleeps 2 adults. You also have your very own private 12ft ensuite bathroom with a roll top bath, a proper flushing toilet and there’s even a heated towel rail. You’ll be forgiven for forgetting that you’re not at a five-star hotel! Other facilities include parking, a wood burner (with your first basket of logs thrown in), and of course, the wood-fired 2-person hot tub positioned on your private deck just so for optimum star gazing.
If you want to cook your own feasts and dine al fresco by your yurt, a gas camping cooker and utensils are provided, there’s even a fridge with a freezer compartment, but there are so many amazing restaurants on your doorstep, let someone else do the hard work at least some of the time! Ask your hosts for their recommendations, they’ll be only too happy to advise.
The beautiful bell tents sleep 4 and also come with a comfortable bed. They work out very nicely if you have an event or wedding in the main house and if some guests prefer a more back-to-nature experience.
The Alexander House Horse Lorries are wooden marvels and offer an excellent level of luxury. Tucked away in a sheltered corner with stunning views, you will find these two permanent Horse Lorries. Each features a comfy fold-down Murphy bed with sprung mattress and luxury crisp linens, and a private ensuite shower room or freestanding roll-top bath.
The big comfy double bed sits at one end of the room and a kid’s double bed slots in above, in the gap above the cab. At the other end is a mini kitchen with a gas radiator and gas hobs In the middle of this luxury lorry lodge is a table that folds away and a roll-top bath.
Both cozy lorries come with cooking facilities, utensils, complimentary tea and coffee, a fridge, central heating, seating for 2-4 people, and parking for 1 car. Juniper also offers a gas BBQ, kid’s swing, and hammocks. The first night’s logs for the wood-fired hot tub are included.
Expect to see lots of wildlife during your stay, from pine martens to deer. The 25-mile Ochil Hills trail from the Firth of Tay to Stirling will tempt hikers, and offers fantastic views across central Scotland and to the north. Other nearby activities include canyoning, highlining, and rafting.
