1. Bulgari Milan
The Bulgari Milan is a petite yet stylish Marriott boutique hotel that exudes an irresistible coolness reminiscent of the pages of Vogue. Infused with a dash of chic Italian charm and joie de vivre, it stands out as possibly the finest Marriott establishment in Europe, boasting what could be hailed as the ultimate Marriott bar worldwide.
This and the Four Seasons are the best luxury hotels in Milan. Both offer ultra-chic bars, beautiful garden areas, and stylish clientele (well, this is Milan, after all!)
Our favorite features at the Bulgari, when we stayed, were the alfresco bar at night, I can’t think of a better bar anywhere in the world for showcasing your designer gear in an amazing venue, the food which is of the highest quality, the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever experienced, the delicious Bulgari amenities and the fun bathrooms with stand-alone baths that sit by the window.
Review: Bulgari Hotel Milan
Bulgari Hotel Milan (or Bvlgari Hotel Milano) is one of the smallest and most boutique luxury hotels in Milan. It is situated up an ultra-exclusive private street in central Milan, complete with 24/7 security guards and gates. Once inside this wealthy neighborhood, you take a left turn and head up a short driveway to reach Bulgari Hotel Milano. If you haven't stayed at a Bulgari before, I would describe them as a cross between a stylish Park Hyatt and an Aman hotel, and this is one of the best Bulgari Hotels In The World.
2. St Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort
St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort is set on the stunning coastline of the Balearic island of Mallorca. Nestled behind a gated entrance, this exquisite hotel boasts terracotta roofs, whitewashed walls, and graceful arches. Each room and the entire building is built in parallel with the coastline, and offers views over lush gardens and the sparkling ocean.
The hotel exudes warmth and sophistication with luxurious furnishings, rich fabrics, and thoughtfully selected artwork. The chic, newly redesigned bar and lounge areas create a stylish setting, while the rooms offer a fresh, modern vibe. Balconies and terraces wrap around the property, treating guests to breathtaking sunset views.
The expansive gardens, bathed in Mallorcan sunlight, are a vibrant tapestry of greenery, colorful blooms, and fragrant flowers. Meandering pathways bordered by lush foliage lead to tranquil pools and delightful restaurants, where pine trees shade the tables at Mar restaurant on the garden’s edge.
At the garden’s end, a metal gate opens to a coastal pathway leading to a secluded sandy cove at the foot of the cliffs. Hidden within these enchanting clifftop gardens, this boutique resort offers a serene escape by the sea—a paradise you’ll long for before your departure.
Review: St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort
Hidden on the clifftops of the southwest coast of radiant Mallorca, the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort is a lavish, family-oriented resort. The hotel offers three gorgeous pools, including a shaded double pool suitable for toddlers, which sits next to the play area. It has a stunning bar with a glorious terrace where you can sit and watch the sunset over the bay. Its restaurants have terraces that spill out onto the lawns, and its Mar restaurant is completely alfresco, hidden under pine trees at the end of the garden. The St.
3. The St. Regis Venice
With an Avant-garde design, The St. Regis Venice merges striking, modern interiors with its historic provenance as the best address in the city. Flanked by the Grand Canal with views across iconic landmarks, the hotel has stood in this privileged position for over a century and a half.
This is a great Marriott to pick if you want a modern and classy hotel with fantastic terraces. If you are after a property oozing history, you will do better choosing the Gritti Palace, and if you want your own private pool, pick the JW Marriott Venice.
The hotel is right in the center, within walking distance from almost everything, and just five minutes walk from St. Mark’s Square via alleyways full of luxury boutiques. It has 129 guestrooms, 40 suites (some with a terrace), a garden terrace overlooking the canal, and a fitness center.
If you are paying (as opposed to redeeming points), the price is upwards of 700 Euros per night or around 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. If you have any suite-upgrade certificates from your Bonvoy Ambassador elite status, this is the place to use them. You can upgrade to a Grand Terrace suite which is something. You get a private terrace with views of the Santa Maria Della Salute Basilica.
10 Best JW Marriott Hotels In The World
Which is the best JW Marriott hotel in the world? We have already reviewed the best Ritz-Carlton hotels in the world. Now, we look specifically at JW Marriott. JW Marriott is part of Marriott International’s luxury portfolio, consisting of award-winning properties and beautiful resort locations worldwide. Inspired by J.
The communal areas in this newly launched hotel feel more modern than Venetian. The Italianate garden presents access to a range of dining and beverage options at Gio’s restaurant, the St. Regis Bar, and Arts Bar.
4. JW Marriott Venice
JW Marriott Venice is another one of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Venice. If you book this as a redemption, it is cheaper than St Regis or the other ultra-lux options and hits the spot in terms of luxury. The JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, which is on its own private island, costs 50,000 Bonvoy points per night to stay as it is a Rewards Category 6 hotel and is one of the cheapest luxury Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Venice.
The problem is that although the hotel is amazing, with beautiful rooms, a fantastic rooftop pool and another pool flanked with loungers, numerous bars, and restaurants, and beautiful large grounds (and some rooms with their own private plunge pool), the hotel is a 15-minute private JW Marriott (free) boat trip away from the center (+ wait time & loading time), which is a pain if you want to go out in the evening or have a leisurely drink at a bar in a different hotel. You are somewhat marooned on this beautiful island.
Best Luxury Hotel Amenities and Spa Products
Is there anything more annoying than an uninspiring hotel bathroom amenity? Admittedly there are many things more annoying than insipid hotel toiletries, but it is nonetheless annoying when you arrive at a hotel only to discover that its amenities are bland. Conversely, really great hotel toiletries can be an extra reason to stay at a hotel. You know you'll smell great throughout the day. Whether you are enjoying a mini staycation or a long-haul paradise escape, here is our pick of exceptionally fragranced amenity brands that you hope your next hotel will be gifting to you in your bathroom.
JW Marriott is the exclusive inhabitant of the small Venetian island of Isola delle Rosa, one of the largest and youngest islands in the Venetian lagoon. It was artificially created in 1870 with materials from the construction of the Santa Marta commercial port.
This lush green island houses the best Marriott I have ever stayed in, and if you pick the right room, you will get your own private plunge pool (pictured above!). The main building sits in the island’s center, home to most rooms, the rooftop bar, and the pool.
Outside, the entire island is yours to explore, wander along meandering paths past groves of olive trees and fields of poppies, and you’ll reach outbuildings, including some of the higher-end rooms with their own private pools. Continue to a church, herb garden, family pool, the Dopolavro Dining room, and the Gardino Grill, all set in a pretty garden. The spa at the JW Marriott Venice is also immense and offers the same superb views across the water.
The rooftop infinity pool, located just beyond a rooftop bar and restaurant area, ticks all the boxes. Just look at the view in the photo above! Gobsmackingly good views from comfy seating on a beautifully decked terrace, music playing in the background, and plenty of daybeds and loungers. Dip your foot in; the pool is as warm as a slipper, perfect for lounging in the bubbles at the edge. Perfect, except for the fact it is incredibly shallow. There’s another outdoor “family” pool hidden away from the greenery of the island, which is a bit of a trek in your dressing gown but offers the option of swimming, as the pool is deeper, along with some more extremely comfy loungers and just across from a young kids playpark.
This resort is so idyllic, peaceful, and relaxing that you won’t want to leave. The craziness of St. Marks Square, Gondolas, and tourists seem a world away. If you do get bored, the hotel’s extremely regular and comfortable shuttle boat whizzes you right onto St Marks Square.
Review: JW Marriott Venice
I write this review while lazing on the balcony of my Junior suite, dappled in sunlight at the JW Marriott Venice. The outlook is not what you would expect of Venice; all I can hear is bird song, and all I can see is an expanse of green forested gardens with the odd glimpse of Venetian Lagoon through the trees. This impressive luxury Marriott hotel opened in March 2015. Arrive by water taxi if you can. Not only is this a glamorous way to travel through Venice, but the dock at the JW Marriott is like something out of a Bond movie, providing a great first view of the property.
5. Bulgari Hotel London
Bvlgari Hotel London is located in the heart of central London’s most prestigious area, Knightsbridge, just steps away from Harrods, Hyde Park, and Kensington’s museums. The 85 rooms and suites, with exquisite Italian detailing throughout, are considered among the city’s largest.
The hotel features exceptional facilities, including the stunning 24,000 ft² Bulgari Spa, spread over two floors that feature an 82-foot-long swimming pool. Sette restaurant brings authentic Italian food from the heart of Manhattan with its own inimitable flair.
Operating independently but housed on the ground floor of Bvlgari Hotel London, it is the first London restaurant for LDV Hospitality, the owner of the chic modern Italian restaurant concept Scarpetta. The restaurant, accessed through its own entrance at 4 Knightsbridge Green, serves lunch and dinner daily. Hotel guests enjoy direct access to Sette from the Lobby, with daily breakfast served in the restaurant.
Downstairs, Nolita Social is the new after-hours hangout bar, bringing the energy of ‘the New York night’ to London with a heady mix of crafted cocktails, live music, and DJs, creating a space perfect for light-hearted revelry in Knightsbridge. The Bulgari Hotel London is definitely the best and most luxurious one of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in London.
Best Club Or Executive Lounge In Budapest
What is the best club or executive lounge at the best luxury hotels in Budapest? The best executive club lounge in Budapest can be found at the Ritz-Carlton Budapest, but the InterContinental should also be considered and is a great option. You may or may not know that if you book a stay at any luxury hotel in Budapest using an official Preferred Partner agent like our luxury travel concierge, you will get two free breakfasts along with other fantastic benefits such as a delicious welcome gift, a prioritized room upgrade (subject to availability) and $100 resort credit.
6. JW Marriott Grosvenor House London
One of the best Marriott hotels in London is the JW Grosvenor House, which also has one of the best club lounges in London.
The hotel is located on Park Lane in Central London, with a distinguished setting within the upscale neighborhood of Mayfair. Park Lane is just moments from Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Buckingham Palace, and more.
Elegant rooms and suites feature plush pillowtop beds, marble bathrooms, and high-speed Wi-Fi access. Savor delicious dining at JW Steakhouse or gather with friends for cocktails at Red Bar and the Bourbon Bar. Partake in a 5-star luxury afternoon tea in the Park Room, then work it off in the modern fitness center.
The JW Marriott Grosvenor House London club lounge is particularly excellent here. The entrance to the Grosvenor House’s lounge is on the ground floor, reached by following some stairs adjacent to the hotel’s reception area.
Climb up the marble staircase and enter through a keyed glass door to reach this spacious lounge. After entry, your eyes are immediately drawn to an attractive floor-to-ceiling media wall showing colorful videos shot in Hyde Park.
Inside, the lounge opens up to reveal some private meeting rooms to the left and two large communal lounges to the right, the latter of which backs onto the food and drinks offering. The natural creams and oatmeals make the lounge feel relaxing. Plentiful sofa-style seats arranged in groups of 2 to 6 offer guests plenty of room to relax. There is also a shared dining table area for about ten guests.
Although there are no windows in this lounge, the interior design is such that I didn’t notice the lack of natural light. One unusual thing about the lounge is the slight rumble of tube trains passing below occasionally, reminding guests that they’re in the heart of London.
Review: Club Lounge at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London
As part of our guide to the best hotel club and executive lounges in London, I am writing a review of the renovated, (in late 2014), and extended executive lounge at the Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott hotel, on Park Lane, right in the center of London. The entrance to the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel's lounge is on the ground floor, reached by following some stairs adjacent to the hotel's reception area. Climb the marble staircase and enter through a keyed glass door to reach this spacious lounge.
The food offering in the executive lounge at the JW Marriott London is generous, with a great breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. I recommend the lemon drizzle cake – it is good enough to merit a second slice. There is also an all-day snack of nuts, smarties, sweeties, and crisps.
Throughout the day, there is a large selection of teas, coffees, plenty of still and sparkling water, Britvic juices, and Pepsi. In the evening, there is an additional selection of wines, champagne, and bottles of Stella Artois. All the alcoholic drinks are free and were still available at 9:30 pm, unlike other executive lounges in London that limit drinks to very early happy hour times.
Review: JW Marriott Grosvenor House London
JW Marriott Grosvenor House London is one of the best luxury hotels in London with one of the best club lounges in London. Located on Park Lane in the heart of Mayfair, our distinguished 5-star hotel offers exceptional accommodation, epicurean delights, and sweeping views over the London parks. The Park Lane location is superbly convenient for Oxford Street shopping. In particular, Selfridges and the dreaded Primark are a short walk away.
7. The Westin London City Hotel by Marriott
Situated along the banks of the River Thames, The Westin London City Hotel by Marriott offers stunning views and a prime location for exploring the South Bank and London’s vibrant cityscape. On a recent stay at this luxurious, contemporary hotel, we were captivated by the exceptional service and particularly impressed with the wellness facilities.
Having opened in 2021, The Westin London City is a relatively new addition to London’s luxury hotel scene. I believe a hotel’s entrance sets the tone, and here, there are two convenient entry points. The South Entrance is located near the river, while the North Entrance is just a short walk from Mansion House underground station.
The hotel’s décor is a soothing, luxurious blend of natural tones and textures, featuring polished stone, dark wood, shades of grey, indigo, and a deep teal. Contemporary art pieces are thoughtfully displayed throughout, with a special highlight being the impressive paper sculpture suspended in the lobby at the South Entrance.
The Westin London City Hotel has 225 guest rooms, suites, and residences. All the rooms have their Westin Heavenly Beds, ultra-sleek bathrooms, and all the usual amenities you would expect: robes, slippers, tea and coffee-making facilities, and USD ports by the beds.
Review: Westin London City Executive Club Lounge
The Westin London City has one of the best executive club lounges in London, and the hotel also offers chic, contemporary guest rooms and an excellent wellness center with spa and fitness center and a central London location near to St Paul’s Cathedral and London Bridge. Access to the club lounge is for Marriott Bonvoy® Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite, and Ambassador Elite Members, as well as guests booking a St Paul’s Duplex, Executive, or Presidential Suite.
The hotel is also home to the Westin Club lounge, a calm, spacious lounge area away from the other communal areas serving breakfast, snacks, soft drinks throughout the day, and canapes and evening nibbles with a range of alcoholic drinks.
If you book a club room, you can access the Westin London City club lounge, which we have reviewed in detail and which is well worth a visit. This is one of the best executive club lounges in London.
There is also a 12-metre basement swimming pool here, which is large, gently lit, and serene, with a hot tub at one end and day beds and loungers along one side. There’s also a gym, steam room and sauna, sensory shower, vitality pool, ice fountain, five treatment rooms, and a relaxation area.
Review: The Westin London City
From its prime vantage on the banks of the River Thames, The Westin London City Hotel by Marriott offers amazing views and a great location from which to explore the South Bank and the city of London. On a recent visit to the luxury, contemporary hotel, we were blown away by the impeccable service and especially loved the wellness facilities. The Westin London City is located just steps from St Pauls Cathedral in the heart of the city of London. Mansion House Tube Station is also steps away, even nearer than St Pauls Cathedral!
8. Budapest Marriott
Budapest Marriott has some of the best city views of any hotel in Europe and also has what may possibly be the best Marriott M Club Lounge in the world.
This Marriott is housed in a huge 1970s monstrosity of a tower block, but its size and height mean that this Marriott also offers some of the best views in the city, along with one of the best Marriott club lounges in the world.
What’s great about this Marriott is its riverfront location on the edge of a peaceful pedestrianized promenade that runs along the edge of the River Danube and the fact that it makes the most of this brilliant location with wonderful views from its rooms, terraces, restaurants and rooftop bar.
This Marriott has also been recently refurbished, offering a stylish setting with fun lighting and comfy seating. The main restaurant has a rustic feel and has been cleverly designed to take your attention off this vast space and to make lots of intimate spaces to eat and drink.
Don’t miss a cocktail in the rooftop bar, and if you can, book their double-aspect river view suite, which offers phenomenal views and loads of space to make your home from home.
Review: Budapest Marriott
Budapest Marriott Hotel is a huge hotel found on the banks of the River Danube in the center of Budapest. It was recently refurbished, so it has modern and stylish interiors and fantastic river views. The Budapest Marriott Hotel sits along the scenic banks of the River Danube, positioned near the end of the riverside promenade. This walkway extends from the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, where you’ll find the Four Seasons Budapest and the InterContinental Budapest, down to the Erzsébet Bridge, which lies closer to the Marriott.
9. Hotel Arts Barcelona, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel
Hotel Arts Barcelona, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel is one of the few luxury hotels in Barcelona which is nest to the beach, but unlike the W Barcelona, it doesn’t have direct beach access.
The nearest metro station is 10 minutes’ walk away; from there, you can connect to a tram that takes you nearer to the hotel if you don’t fancy walking. The hotel is located in the city’s Olympic Village area (home to a Frank Gehry sculpture). The attraction of this hotel is, of course, the beach plus the two excellent pools.
Renowned the world over for its impeccable service and lavish accommodations, the stunning 44 storey Hotel Arts Barcelona, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, offers panoramic sea or city views from each of its 483 guestrooms suites and 28 duplex penthouses. The latter is located on the top floors of the hotel and offers butler service and the use of a MINI Cooper.
The rooms are great here, with particularly lovely bathrooms with Asprey toiletries (top suites have Bulgari), a bath, and a very large shower. Interestingly, some of the rooms look up the beach at the W-hotel, which is in a similar location to the Hotel Arts Barcelona, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Both are good choices in Barcelona, although only one has a club lounge.
Best Luxury Hotels In London With Pools
It's good to know which luxury hotels in London have the best pools, particularly if you are traveling with your family. It's always nice to hit the pool with the kids. The Peninsula, Langham, Mandarin Oriental, and Berkley pools are perfect for families because their central location means they are also within walking distance of Hamleys or Harrods Toy Department. Whichever hotel you choose, get free benefits like breakfast on your next luxury hotel booking by contacting our luxury travel concierge.
The Ritz-Carlton does have a reputation for running excellent club lounges. You need to book a room with executive club lounge access to get executive floor privileges on the 33rd floor with a triple-height ceiling and great views across the marina and coastline. The club provides complimentary breakfast, tea service, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts.
The disadvantage of this hotel, much like the W-Barcelona, is the location, on the edge of the city center and not within the history and action of the city or the crowds near La Ramblas. The advantage is that it is next to the beach and has a club lounge, super pools, spa, gym, etc., plus the two Michelin-starred restaurants and the classy bar.
If you are a Platinum Marriott Bonvoy member, expect a one-category upgrade but no breakfast or club access. If you are a Platinum Marriott Bonvoy member and you book with our luxury travel concierge, you will get your own Platinum benefits PLUS our extra set of benefits.
10. Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve
In the Algarve, in Southern Portugal, the Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve serves up the ultimate in relaxation from its cliff-top perch overlooking Praia (beach) da Falésia.
Visit the hillside village of Monchique for a thermal spring soak to unwind further still. If you want a great meal, head into Albufeira for some fresh fish in a laid-back establishment like Tres Coroas and gaze out at the dreamy Atlantic while you dine.
This iconic, 5-star cliff-top retreat is located above Portugal’s famous beach, Praia da Falésia, and boasts stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. With a Moorish-influenced decor, the hotel’s newly renovated guest rooms teem with exquisite indigenous details, plush beds, and spa-inspired bathrooms.
Each hotel room boasts a private balcony with views of the Algarve’s red cliffs overlooking the ocean or beautifully manicured gardens. This resort’s exceptional amenities include a 9-hole golf course, a tennis club, a revitalizing spa, eight swimming pools, an up-to-date fitness center, and various fine dining options. Families also love their fantastic kid’s facilities, including Porto Pirata, the biggest kids club in the region.
