Four Seasons is one of the most luxurious hotel brands in the world, and it is natural to ask the question, is there a Four Seasons resort in Cancun or Playa Del Carmen on the Riviera Maya, Yucatan Peninsula? How about Tulum and Isla Mujeres?
Wherever you are in the world, Four Seasons hotels are consistently one of the best hotels in that city or resort. This means that most Four Seasons hotel room rates generally start at $500 – $1000 USD per night. Because they don’t have a Four Seasons loyalty program, you will never be able to book a free stay by racking up and redeeming points, or by collecting points on your credit card and spending them on a Four Seasons hotel stay. It can’t be done. But you can get discounts at Four Seasons hotels and benefit from special rewards at Four Seasons hotels for no extra cost by booking your next stay via our luxury travel concierge.
Playa del Carmen and Cancun are coastal resort towns in Mexico along the Yucatán Peninsula’s Riviera Maya strip of Caribbean shoreline. Look no further if you love to lounge on the beach, serenaded by the surf. The area surrounding Riviera Maya also offers horseback riding, golfing, shark feeding, dolphin swims, snorkeling, and scuba diving on the second-longest barrier reef in the world. Step into the past with a tour of the Mayan Ruins, like seaside Tulum, or sail off into the sunset aboard a catamaran.
Is There A Four Seasons In Riviera Maya?
The answer is no. There is no Four Seasons in Cancun Or Playa Del Carmen, or anywhere else on the Riviera Maya, including Tulum and Isla Mujeres, which is a real shame. Although Four Seasons hotels are not cheap, their reliably expensive room rates mean that their rooms are reliably excellent and a Four Seasons hotel is always a blissfully and reliably luxurious retreat. There are Four Seasons hotels in the region, and you can read our review of the best Four Seasons in South America.
But don’t be put off. There are some beautiful alternative and similarly luxurious hotels that you can book into.
Where Should I Stay?
Belmond hotels are some of the best in the world. We are major fans of the Belmond Cipriani Venice and the Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa, situated 25 minutes north of Playa del Carmen on the Riviera Maya is similarly good, in a different way.
This boutique hotel is fantastic and beachfront. Sixty-three rooms are aligned with the azure sea and are hidden among 200 acres of lush jungle on Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Spend your days with your feet in the soft sand and cocktails in your hand. Try the award-winning spa or indulge in fantastic food at the two restaurants, the bar, or the celebrated wine cellar. At night, the staff light 1,000 candles around the hotel, one by one, making the atmosphere even more magical.
If you want to stay within Cancun, the best luxury hotel in Cancun is arguably the Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, a AAA Five Diamond resort. This Rewards Category 6 luxury resort offers an enticing stretch of white sand beach, indulgent amenities such as the full-service Ritz-Carlton Spa and award-winning restaurants, and the intrigue of the ancient Mayan sites nearby. Recreational facilities include a 1200-foot sand beach, two sculpted outdoor pools, an oceanfront whirlpool, two tennis courts, and Fitness Center. This is the best Marriott hotel in Cancun. It also has the best club lounge in Cancun, bear in mind that if you are a premium (platinum or Titanium) Marriott Bonvoy member, you don’t get free access to this club lounge, you must book and pay for a club room to get access to the executive club lounge (this is the same for any Ritz-Carlton hotel).
The resort has 363 guestrooms, including 50 suites, all with ocean views and private balconies or terraces. Each resort’s guestroom and suite is a sanctuary of comfort featuring sweeping ocean views and a wealth of welcome amenities. For families with infants, specially designed rooms offer all the comforts of a home nursery, including a crib, a changing table, and a menu of baby essentials that can be ordered prior to arrival.
Guestroom amenities include Egyptian cotton linen and duvet covers, television with international cable, CD Player, individual air conditioning controls, high speed, Wi-Fi Internet access, in-room safe, marble bath with double vanities and separate tub and shower, and plush terry bathrobes.
Whether sampling Five Diamond cuisine, dining al fresco under the stars, or attending a tequila tasting session featuring the finest and most exclusive varieties, guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, will experience innovative cuisine with unparalleled service.
The Ritz-Carlton Club Level provides guests with the highest level of personal service with five complimentary food presentations daily. Worth noting Platinum and elite Marriott Bonvoy members don’t get free lounge access. Everyone who uses this lounge has paid for a club room.
This lounge is super smart, with double-height ceilings and an intricately carved wall features, and the whole lounge is designed in browns and olives with lots of wood and thick chunky marble. The meals are excellent and filling, you will not be disappointed, and you will leave full (both with food and alcohol if you want).
The Club Level food includes breakfast, lunch, light snacks, cocktails & hors d’oeuvres, chocolates, and Cordials. Beyond the free food, there is also a selection of complimentary wines, liqueurs, beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages available, complimentary wireless, in-room internet access, and two garments pressed daily.
