Hotels with pools in Venice are rare, but they exist, and in this review, we pick the five best Venice hotels with a pool. Did you know you can even book a hotel room in Venice with a private plunge pool and a spectacular view over the lagoon? This private plunge pool and the two main pools at the resort are available at the JW Marriott Hotel in Venice.
1. Belmond Cipriani
I feel blessed to have swum in the beautiful pool at the Belmond Cipriani Venice. This hotel undoubtedly offers the best pool in Venice. The peaceful salt water pool is huge and is surrounded by beautifully kept greenery and foliage. It is located right by one of the main waterways in Venice, which means you see boat masts meander past you as you splash about in the water. Around the pool, thickly padded loungers are served by excellent pool staff who spritz you with Evian spritzers and bring you whatever you like. The rooms here are classic in decor, and some have direct access to the pool.
In the evening, grab a beer or a glass of wine in their poolside bar before enjoying the award-winning cuisine at their alfresco restaurant.
2. San Clemente Palace Palace Kempinski
San Clemente Palace Palace Kempinski has a beautiful outdoor swimming pool on its private island in the lagoon, which is just a short walk away from the rooms. The lawns and greenery around the pool make it utterly relaxing and the ideal place to laze after exploring the busy center of Venice.
The outdoor pool at the Kempinski is stunning and is a big reason to choose this resort. It is surrounded by more than enough comfy loungers and lawns beyond, with more loungers laid out. Next to the pool is Buddha-Bar Beach that play funky music and serves lunch dishes and evening drinks. This poolside restaurant and bar area are completely surrounded by lush greenery and exotic palm trees.
3. JW Marriott Venice
Venice is one of my favorite destinations. The Bond-style water taxis, the historic passageways, and the views over busy waterways, There is nowhere quite like it. On our last trip to Venice, we fell in love with the romantic Aman Canal Grande Venice, but at over €2500 EUR per night, you don’t get a pool. If you are looking for your own private pool in Venice, the place to stay is the JW Marriott Venice in their “La Residenza Pool De Luxe room” which comes with its own private pool.
The room’s double doors open out onto the star attraction – your own private pool, which sports a decked area with loungers, tables, and chairs, and a mini lawn where you can sit and enjoy your very own private view of Venice. The pool itself is large enough for a lovely splash, complete with spa bubbles, and the views beyond the pool are over the Venice lagoon.
There is also a rooftop pool (pictured above) where you can laze and gaze at the skyline of the center of Venice. Plus, a decent-sized pool is hidden to one side of the expansive gardens on this beautiful island.
4. Hilton Molino Stucky Venice
Escape to the small rooftop pool at the Hilton Molino Stucky in Venice. This hotel is built at the other end of the same island as the Cipriani above, in a mind-blowingly massive warehouse conversion. This complex is huge, historic, and impressive, although lacking in much greenery. The pool is located on the top floor of the Arsenal building and is the highest in Venice, offering a stunning view.
During summer, it’s the perfect place to sip a cocktail or indulge at the sundeck, although it is worth noting that this pool is small and can get busy with very little shade.
5. Hotel Excelsior On Venice Lido
Hotel Excelsior on Venice’s Lido island will immerse you in a different side of Venice. The Lido, with its golden beaches and relaxed atmosphere, is just 15 minutes by the hotel’s private boat shuttle to the center of Venice, and yet this island will give you a beachside stay in this iconic city.
Right on Venice Lido Beach, the Hotel Excelsior is a refined and elegant property reminiscent of a fabulous Venetian Renaissance palace. The Moorish style of architecture evokes a sense of luxury and exoticism, harking back to the city’s rich heritage as a prestigious trading port. The pretty internal courtyard with a gurgling fountain and lavish garden provides a restful atmosphere.
You not only get access to a private outdoor pool at this hotel (May to September) but also a private beach which you can use in June, July & August.
