Launched in May 2018, the Seabourn Ovation is the fifth ship in Seabourn’s fleet of small luxury cruisers. The Ovation, a sister ship to the Encore, features 300 all-oceanfront suites with private verandas, contemporary interiors designed by Adam D. Tihany, and five dining venues, including the Grill by Thomas Keller.
We have selected some of the best pictures to share with you in this review. I think the most stand-out feature of this boat, compared to other cruise ships, is the incredible bathrooms that look nothing like what you would usually experience on a cruise ship. Even in the base rooms, these bathrooms are a proper size with a proper bath.
Suites pump up the luxury with sofa seating in the living areas, refined bedding, walk-in closets, marble bathrooms, and exclusive bath products by Molton Brown (one of my favorite toiletry brands).
Special onboard programming includes An Evening With Tim Rice, a concert featuring some of the lyricist’s most popular songs from such shows as Jesus Christ Superstar, Aladdin, and The Lion King, and including a video narration by Rice himself. The ship also offers a spa and wellness program developed by Dr. Andrew Weil.
From the grand, double-helix spiral staircase that spans the ship from top to bottom to curvaceous couches, circular bars, well-rounded, polished mahogany railings, and lashings of marble in the suites’ bathrooms, Seabourn Ovation is indeed a visual and sensual delight.
