2. Menjangan Dynasty Resort In Northwest Bali
For a dive-glamp experience, look no further than Menjangan Dynasty Resort Beach Camp and Dive Centre, an eco-friendly, tented, boutique resort. Set on 16 hectares of land on a quiet peninsula beside a gorgeous white sandy beach, this ultra-luxurious glamping hotel offers a superb infinity swimming pool, a spa and a dive club, and a water sports center.
The tented rooms and villas maintain the charm and mood of luxurious safari accommodation with natural materials and muted colors, plus the odd, quirky touch here and there. There are 24 Beach Camp Tents as well as two stunning one-bedroom Cliff Tent Villas and two two-bedroom Cliff Tent Villas as well.
The Beach Camp Tents are large and include a large decking area with a day bed and loungers. The villas are even larger and include a private infinity plunge pool. Combine the feeling of sleeping in the great outdoors with only canvas between you and the stars, with flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. There is even a luxury bathroom with a hand-painted tiled floor, a monsoon shower, a well-lit vanity unit with a washbasin and mirror, and a toilet with a bamboo screen for privacy. This is about as far from old-school camping as you can get and much closer to a luxury five-star hotel.

3. Cottars 1920’s Safari Camp In Kenya
Cottars 1920s Safari Camp was one of the first permanent luxury tented camps to take guests out on safaris in Kenya. Little has changed since the 1920s, and it extends an era of luxury and quality, returning to the original spirit and essence of ‘safari,’ reminiscent of a golden era – an era of romance, professional guiding, adventure, and elegance.
Accommodation consists of 6 Luxury Safari Tents, 1 Honeymoon Tent, and 4 Family Tents, all ensuite, very spacious, and with large private verandahs. There is also Cottar’s Private House with five ensuite bedrooms, a private living /dining area, staff, vehicles, a guide, and a 25m swimming pool.
The camp overlooks the Mara and Serengeti Plains in its very own private concession bordering the Serengeti, Maasai Mara, and Loliondo reserves. The camp and the area guarantee privacy and an abundance of wildlife. Spot the big five and choose your season carefully, as the camp is the path to the great migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra.
Camp guides are highly qualified and knowledgeable of the area who share an amazing insight into the Masai culture and the flora and fauna in the reserve. In the evening, bathe in your outdoor bathtub, have an amazing dinner under the stars (greens from the camp’s own vegetable garden), and give Bambi a hug before bedtime (she is the camp’s resident baby gazelle).

4. Sandat Glamping Tents In Bali
Sandat Glamping Tents offer a low-key eco-resort built by local craftsmen set between jungle and rice fields in a beautifully maintained lush garden.
If you choose to book uber-luxurious tents, you will feel (and hear!) the nature around you. The jungle comes alive at night, so if you are a light sleeper, bring your earplugs!
The tent itself can only be described as amazing. The beds and bathrooms are deeply stylish, and although there are no TVs, Wi-Fi coverage is excellent. The tents and lumbungs all offer an individual pool and veranda with complete privacy for your very own slice of jungle luxury.
Ubud is just 10 minutes away by free shuttle, where you can visit the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, have a massage, or eat at one of the many excellent restaurants. Sandat Glamping Tents also sits about an hour from the capital, Denpasar.
Sandat Glamping Tents are a unique and glamorous way to camp. A way to enjoy nature without missing out on any of the luxuries of a five-star resort. A unique and enchanting way to see another side of the magical Island of Bali.
Sandat Glamping also features in my best luxury wilderness resorts in Asia.
5. Desert Luxury Camp In Erg Chebbi, Morocco
For something truly authentic, try Desert Luxury Camp, located in Erg Chebbi sand dunes by Merzouga in Morocco. These golden sand dunes climb to heights of over 150m, and the camp is nestled right in these dunes. Access is solely by 4x4WD, camels, or helicopter.
The Desert Luxury Camp itself is outrageously beautiful and very decadent, with candles and silks everywhere. Tents are beautifully decorated, with stripped bold colors on the walls and huge comfy beds sitting on thick pile rugs.
Bathrooms, which are in another tent attached to the sleeping tent, have a handheld shower, toilet, and beautiful fossil sink (we still have no idea how plumbing like this works in the middle of nowhere!). Dozens of extreme-ish activities are offered by the Desert Luxury Camp during the day, from sand boarding, camel treks, quad biking, or guided walks to slow-paced activities such as yoga or watching the sunset.
At night, candle-lit dinners are prepared beautifully by the Berbers and served under the stars. Live music is played around the campfire until late, then sit outside your tent to stargaze. Oh, so romantic…
