It’s good to know which luxury hotels in London have the best pools, particularly if you are traveling with your family. It’s always nice to hit the pool with the kids. The Peninsula, Langham, Mandarin Oriental, and Berkley pools are perfect for families because their central location means they are also within walking distance of Hamleys or Harrods Toy Department. Whichever hotel you choose, get free benefits like breakfast on your next luxury hotel booking by contacting our luxury travel concierge.
1. Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge
Set in the heart of the City, overlooking Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge is one of the best Four Seasons in England. It is as impressive inside as it is from the outside. This Four Seasons Hotel is located in a 1922 Grade-II listed former Port of London Authority HQ, opposite the Tower of London.
The grand lobby lies at the hotel’s heart, hosting all-day dining, afternoon tea, and drinks under a backlit art-deco-style dome. This hotel’s communal areas are particularly stunning and steeped in history.
The hotel has just 100 rooms, including 11 suites, so it is boutique in size. Executive rooms have separate living areas and can sleep a family of four, while nine Heritage suites on the ground floor boast ceilings at least five meters high.
The lower-ground floor is home to a 1,600 m² spa with eight treatment rooms, including a hammam suite, plus a 14-meter pool, pictured above and kept immaculately.
Review: Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge
Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square is changing its name to Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge, which highlights its deepened connection to one of London’s most iconic landmarks, Tower Bridge. I popped in to review this hotel last year. You can see my photo of the lobby restaurant above, the hotel has a beautiful centerpiece atrium area.
2. Langham London
Langham London, near Oxford Street and Selfridges, offers the excellent Chuan Health Club under the hotel. This is a fully equipped fitness center with first-rate Technogym cardio and resistance equipment.
This wellness area also houses a 16-meter (53-foot) pool right in the depths of the building, built into what used to be a bank vault. This pool is stunning, with slate walls and a Japanese tree design backlit by pretty lights at one end. When you swim up and down, you can hear the distant rumble of the tube trains passing by beneath you.
Review: The Langham London
We chose the very British, very luxurious Langham hotel for our latest visit to London. The hotel was opened as Europe's first 'Grand Hotel' on 10 June 1865 by HRH The Prince of Wales. Over the years, it became a favorite of Mark Twain and was visited by the likes of Napoleon III and Oscar Wilde. Being located right opposite the BBC television studios, it still appears to be quite the celebrity hot spot. Cocktails with the luscious Fiona Bruce? The Langham hotel in London, a member of the Leading Hotels Of The World, sits a few streets north of Oxford Circus and Regent Street.
3. The Peninsula London
The Peninsula London is one of the newest luxury hotels in London. It opened in 2023. The location of The Peninsula London is just across the Hyde Park roundabout from Four Seasons Park Lane and the InterContinental London Park Lane and just steps away from Buckingham Palace, Knightsbridge, and other iconic attractions.
The Peninsula Spa and Wellness Centre offers a diverse array of relaxation and well-being choices, including an extensive menu of mind-body therapies, a results-driven wellness program, a fully equipped fitness studio, and an 82-foot indoor swimming pool.
Review: The Peninsula London
Enjoying a spectacular location overlooking Hyde Park Corner and the Wellington Arch in the heart of Belgravia, The Peninsula London is now welcoming guests in London. The newly built hotel showcases the finest British craftsmanship, artistry, and cuisine. This hotel is brilliantly located and should be considered one of the best luxury hotels in London with a pool. We will be recommending this fantastic new hotel to our luxury concierge guests, who will be able to enjoy free breakfast, hotel credit, prioritized room upgrades (subject to availability), and more at this property.
4. The Berkley, Knightsbridge Near Harrods
This rooftop pool is on the seventh floor of the luxury Berkley hotel, located just up the road from Harrods in Knightsbridge. This is the only centrally located London hotel with a rooftop pool. Although the pool is slap bang in the center of London, the ambiance feels more like one of Bath’s historic spas. Romanesque pillars and mosaic detailing tiled in iridescent white and gold give the pool a luxury ambiance, which you will appreciate as you notch up some laps. The poolside loungers have views across the city, and tables and chairs are perfectly placed for you to savor every fine bite and tipple from the spa menu.
5. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park In Knightsbridge, Near Harrods
The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, is steps from Harvey Nichols and Harrods in Knightsbridge and looks out over Hyde Park. The pool at the hotel is part of their new fitness and wellbeing facility and boasts state-of-the-art Technogym® equipment and a 17-meter indoor swimming pool. The changing area offers a sauna in the male area and a steam room in the female area, revitalizing experience showers, and a relaxation area.
6. The Ned London
The Ned London sits in the former Midland Bank headquarters in the City of London. This is the new flagship 5-star hotel from the Soho House group. The Ned Hotel gets its name from the eminent architect who designed the building, and it has been redesigned using 1930s glamour inspired by the transatlantic ocean liner.
A highlight here is the rooftop space with a swimming pool, rooftop bar, and landscaped terraces. There’s also a health spa with an indoor pool, a gym, and an underground bar in what used to be the safety deposit vault underneath the great banking hall. To use the pools, you need to book a room or become a member.
Review: The Ned London
We recently visited The Ned Hotel in London, and there's nothing quite like first walking into this particular building. You enter into the delightful surprise of the Banking Trading Hall of the former Midland Bank headquarters and are immediately greeted by the sheer vastness, history, and grandeur of the space. The stunning architecture and ambiance are breathtaking, and the ground floor is the beating hub of the hotel, with its amazing restaurants, bars, and reception check-in.
7. Westin London City
The 12-metre basement swimming pool at Westin London City is a delight; it’s beautifully lit and accompanied by excellent spa facilities. This double pool area (there’s a larger pool and a small dipping pool) is surrounded by comfy lounging seats, and the walls are covered with stone work and decorated by hidden inset lighting. It feels a bit like you are inside a temple or a pyramid rather than in central London. This pool is definitely stylish and a great place to spend a few hours relaxing.
Review: The Westin London City
From its prime vantage on the banks of the River Thames, The Westin London City Hotel by Marriott offers amazing views and a great location from which to explore the South Bank and the city of London. On a recent visit to the luxury, contemporary hotel, we were blown away by the impeccable service and especially loved the wellness facilities. The Westin London City is located just steps from St Pauls Cathedral in the heart of the city of London. Mansion House Tube Station is also steps away, even nearer than St Pauls Cathedral!
8. Intercontinental O2, Near Canary Wharf
Not far from the Canary Riverside Plaza and in the east rather than the center of London, unlike its sister Intercontinental Park Lane, the Intercontinental O2 offers a club lounge and an excellent pool. The pool is smart, a decent size, and has comfy loungers around it. It is worth noting that Intercontinental Park Lane is a great property, right in the center, but it does not have a pool.
Review: Intercontinental London The O2, England
If you are looking for a luxury hotel near the O2 venue near Greenwich in East London, Intercontinental London, The O2 is your best luxury choice. It is, in fact, directly connected to the O2 by a corridor. If you decide to book, speak to our experts at our luxury travel concierge. We offer free breakfast, upgrades, and other complimentary VIP benefits at luxury hotels like Four Seasons, Belmond, Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt, Aman, InterContinental, and more at no extra cost. Plus, you still get your loyalty points, just give our agent your IHG® Rewards Club number when you book.
9. Shoreditch House, East London
Members and hotel guests can use the pool at Shoreditch House in East London (pictured above). Shoreditch House describes itself as a members club with rooms in a converted east London warehouse and is a short tube ride from central London and all the attractions. Lounge on padded red and white loungers looking out over the London skyline, or dip in this rather trendy, urban rooftop pool.
10. Four Seasons Hampshire
Four Seasons Hampshire sits to the south of London in the rolling Hampshire hills. It’s a short 45-minute train ride from Central London to Fleet Station, and the Four Seasons can send a car to pick you up, or you can pick up a local taxi from there to take you to this magnificently British countryside retreat.
Four Seasons Hampshire Review
The first time we reviewed Four Seasons Hampshire was back in 2016, and following a return visit, I feel compelled to share exactly why this hotel is hands down the best family hotel in the English Countryside and one of the best Four Seasons hotels in the world. The Four Seasons Hampshire is set in a beautifully restored Georgian Manor on a 500-acre estate in the English countryside. The hotel is only just over an hour from central London by car and just 10 minutes from Fleet railway station (with a train service to London Waterloo Station four times an hour).
If you have children between 2 and 12, Sharky’s Reef is one of England’s best kid’s pools and a must-try for families. The hotel also features a more adult lap pool set in a Victorian-style greenhouse and an outdoor wellness pool with bubbles and loungers to soak up the sun on warmer days.
