2. Ask your Agent To Personally Contact The Hotel
Book your next Aria stay via our luxury travel concierge, and your own personal agent will look after you while you make the booking as well as throughout your stay.
Our agents possess exclusive access to a database specifically for hotel General Managers and Sales Managers. These key personnel hold the authority to grant late checkouts to guests. By working with these managers directly, we can make sure they understand the reasons behind your late checkout request. This personalized approach significantly enhances the likelihood of securing a late checkout for you.
3. Become a Loyalty Member
MGM Rewards is the loyalty program for all MGM Resorts properties, including those in Las Vegas. MGM Resorts in Las Vegas include Aria, Bellagio, Delano Las Vegas, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, New York-New York, NoMad Las Vegas, Park MGM, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection, The Signature at MGM Grand, and Vdara at Aria.
You’ll earn points based on your slot play, video lottery, and table game play, plus 1 point per $1 spent on eligible dining and hotel charges at MGM Resorts. If you stay enough and reach Platinum Membership level or above, which requires a huge 200,000+ Tier Credits, benefits outlined include:
- 4:00 pm late checkout if available
- 1:00 pm early check-in if available, with 24-hours’ notice
4. Stay Regularly
if you are a repeat guest at any Las Vegas, all your benefits will likely be prioritized. You are likely to get a better room, you are more likely to get a welcome amenity, and crucially, the hotel is more likely to try its best to shuffle rooms around to give you late checkout.
6. Explain Your Situation
The reception staff are human, so please don’t hesitate to discuss the potential for a late checkout when you arrive. Appeal to their empathy and provide reasons for your request, such as a late flight or a special celebration. Sharing these details could help the staff present a compelling case to management, increasing the likelihood of accommodating your late checkout.
6. Offer to Pay
Sometimes, offering to pay an additional fee for a late checkout or an extra half-day stay may increase your chances of success. We recently had a client who booked a luxury hotel via our luxury travel concierge, and because his flight was arriving at 6:00 am he needed his room at 7:00 am. This was too early for a free early checkin, but the hotel happily offered him a half-day fee so that he could access his room first thing in the morning rather than at 3:00 pm in the afternoon. Our agents were able to negotiate this as we have direct contact with management.
7. Book When There’s Low Occupancy
Hotels are more inclined to offer late checkouts during periods of low occupancy. Consider booking your stay during off-peak seasons or including less popular nights in your itinerary. For instance, opting to stay on a Saturday night rather than a Friday night can be advantageous. Typically, Saturday nights are in high demand, especially for weekend getaways, making late checkouts less feasible.
Conversely, checking out on a Sunday, often characterized by lower occupancy rates, increases the likelihood of securing a late checkout.
8. Can You Use Hotel Facilities After Checkout?
If all else fails and you can’t get a late checkout, some hotels permit you to use all the facilities until you leave and have a communal room or changing area to use and shower in.
This means you can enjoy all the hotel facilities, the pool, the lounges, the gym, and the beach, even without having a room. Before heading to the airport, you can clean up in the hotel’s shared changing rooms.
Our booking agents can determine whether the Hoel has this option, as this facility is a huge advantage if you have a late flight.
9. Call Reception Again On The Day Of Checkout
If you can’t secure a late checkout during check-in, consider following up with the front desk staff on the checkout day. Sometimes, last-minute accommodations can be arranged or juggled, depending on hotel availability.
10. Book Club Lounge Access
If your hotel doesn’t allow late checkout, consider paying for access to the club lounge. You could book a club room for your entire stay or try to book it for the last night. Sky Suites at Aria offer a secluded club lounge to escape to and a choice of rooms to book split into studios and suites lofts. This exclusive rooftop hotel has a contemporary club feel that would be more at home in LA than in Vegas.
The Aria Sky Suites lounge offers complimentary food and beverages, including daily wine and cheese pairing and airport transfers. This lounge is the perfect place to base yourself if you have a late departure flight and want to make the most of your remaining time in Las Vegas.
