Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill stands as a distinguished retreat in the heart of London, situated in the upscale neighborhood of Marylebone. Named in honor of the iconic British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, the hotel exudes a blend of timeless elegance and modern sophistication.

Location

Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill‘s location offers convenient access to some of London’s most renowned attractions, including Oxford Street, Hyde Park, and the West End theaters. Guests can easily explore the vibrant cityscape and cultural landmarks with nearby transport links.

If you take a left turn out of the hotel, head down Oxford Street, and then take another left turn, you will quickly reach Regents Park, one of London’s nicest parks. You aren’t far from any of the other major hotels here. The Grosvenor House, Mandarin Oriental, InterContinental, and Four Seasons are only a 15-20-minute walk away, if you know which way you’re going.

A nice stroll is up to Oxford Circus, then down Regents Street to Picadilly Circus, and then back up through Green Park and past Buckingham Palace.

Style & Character

Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill boasts a refined ambiance throughout its interiors. The Foyer offers an old English style with plinths showcasing Winston Churchill’s head. This hotel is not up-to-the-minute stylish and instead offers a more traditional and cozy decor.

Service & Facilities

For relaxation and rejuvenation, guests can unwind at The Churchill Health Club & Spa, which features a range of wellness facilities, including a fitness center, sauna, steam room, and treatment rooms offering indulgent spa therapies.

Rooms

Rooms here are not particularly special or large. Many have adjoining doors, which is great if you have a family, but is a nightmare if you are a light sleeper. Not all rooms are adjoining so it’s worth requesting a room without an adjoining door if you fear that noise might affect your sleep.

The best views are offered over the front of the hotel, which looks out upon Portman Square and the back of Selfridges department store. This pretty old square offers trees and grass which makes a lovely backdrop. Busy roads surround this square but don’t worry, the hotel is triple-glazed so road noise is not a problem here.

The bathroom toiletries were Molton Brown the last time we stayed, and that gets a big thumbs up from us.

If you book a club room, you will get access to the club lounge here, which is really rather good. It has Mary Poppins views of rooftops and looks out over the back of the hotel. There is an adults-only lounge and a family lounge, both offering the same food and drink. The Breakfast here is good and filling, with hot egg options served to your table; nibbles are available throughout the day, and in the evening, the buffet is usually something like a large bowl of salmon with salads and canapes. More than enough to fill you up, although there can sometimes be an “elbows out” style rush to the buffet when the fish or meat is delivered as, at least when we stayed, it was not replenished.

Food & Drink

Beyond the club lounge mentioned above, the hotel offers dining options at The Montagu Kitchen, which serves seasonal British cuisine with a contemporary twist, and The Churchill Bar & Terrace, which offers a selection of fine wines, cocktails, and light bites in a sophisticated setting.

Conclusion

With its blend of luxury, convenience, and timeless charm, Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill provides a quintessential London experience for discerning travelers seeking a memorable stay in the capital city.
