The London Marriott Hotel County Hall has one of the best executive club lounges in London and as far as we know, the only club lounge in London with views looking directly at Big Ben.
Location
London Marriott Hotel County Hall is on the Thames River’s wrong side, opposite Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey. What I mean by the wrong side is the side furthest away from the center, so you need to cross the river on foot if you want to walk to the major attractions.
While this location is great for trying out the London Eye and walking along the River Thames, the location is less good if you want to walk to Knightsbridge for fancy restaurants and designer shopping. The West and the main London Parks are also some walk from this hotel, but if you want to be by the river, this Marriott hotel has to be a top pick!
Style & Character
London Marriott Hotel County Hall M Club Lounge has fantastic views over the river through semicircular windows. The lounge is modern and has been recently refurbished. The decor picks up the blues of the sky and the river, although, in London, these are sadly more often greys than blue. Tan leather seating and mustard in the carpet and cushions bring brightness and joy to the setting.
Beyond the lovely views, the walls are spattered with modern artwork, adding color and vibrancy to the lounge. Seats are set around cafe-style tables, ideal for breakfast and snacks.
Stay in a premium room or suite and enjoy exclusive access to the Lounge, which overlooks the River Thames and Big Ben. When you book a room here, pick a room with breathtaking views of The London Eye going round! The London Eye whirls around just outside the windows of many of the river-facing rooms. The club lounge is available for up to two registered guests per qualifying room and is open daily.
Service & Facilities
Unlike many other luxury hotels in Central London, this Marriott features a lovely indoor pool and a modern gym. The location is rather good for sightseeing around the Big Ben area.
Food & Drink
Guests can enjoy complimentary refreshments throughout the day in the club lounge. Culinary daily presentations include continental and full English breakfast from 7:00 – 11:00 am. Afternoon treats from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. A “Taste of London” which is a selection of canapes from 5:30 – 7:30 pm and there are evening drinks including wine, spirits, and beer from 5:30 – 9:30 pm.
What Is The Best Club Or Executive Lounge In London?
What is the best club or executive lounge in the top luxury hotels across London? The club lounge at the InterContinental London has the best club lounge for views (pictured above), and the Langham hosts the best club lounge for food in London. Book a standard room at the InterContinental London Park Lane via our luxury travel concierge (rates tend to range from £400 GBP to £600 GBP depending on the day and the season), and you will get a guaranteed room upgrade and Club Lounge access free. This has got to be one of the best hotel deals in London!
Conclusion
This is a great Marriott club lounge in an excellent location for sightseeing although is the other side of the river from the action. This is a big hotel with a less than inviting entrance that feels enclosed and old fashioned, even with the latest contemporary decor. But the views from the rooms, restaurants and club lounge make up for the lack of openness in the foyer.
