Nestled in the vibrant heart of Le Croisette, Hotel Martinez Cannes by Hyatt boasts an ideal location along the famed waterfront promenade of Cannes. Renowned for its opulence and breathtaking vistas of the Mediterranean Sea, Le Croisette spans roughly 2 kilometers along the bay. Lined with swaying palm trees, prestigious hotels, high-end boutiques, and fashionable cafes, this iconic promenade epitomizes glamour and luxury, offering guests an unforgettable Riviera experience.
Location
Cannes stands as a renowned city nestled along the glamorous French Riviera, adorning the southeastern coast of France. It is positioned within the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and finds its home within the Alpes-Maritimes department. Geographically blessed, Cannes enjoys a picturesque setting bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the south, fostering a mild Mediterranean climate marked by warm summers and gentle winters.
Approximately 24 kilometers (about 15 miles) southwest of Nice, Cannes boasts convenient accessibility from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, the nearest major airport catering to international and domestic flights. Our journey from Nice airport to Cannes via taxi took 45 minutes and cost €100 EUR. With its prime beachfront location, this hotel emerges as the premier Marriott choice in Cannes, offering guests unparalleled access to the beauty of the Riviera coastline.
Style & Character
Outside the drive is a petite circle adorned with statues and with clients cars parked up. The building and entry way has an Art Deco feel and is stylish but not fancy or ornate like the Carlton Cannes up the road.
The foyer of the Hotel Martinez is awash with marble and fancy light fittings. There are glass cabinets showcasing the latest designer handbags and watches, and a circular hallway with a huge blue circular carpet gives way to a large and impressive marble staircase to one side and a large check in area on the other.
The entrance feels impressive and luxurious and fits well with the glamorous reputation of Cannes.
Service & Facilities
It is probably the beach and the promenade that you come to enjoy in Cannes, but this hotel also has numerous internal and external restaurants and a beach club but no pool.
Rooms
Rooms here are bright but fairly generic and lack the chicness of Cannes. They are alittle bland but some have terraces and balconies so these are the ones to pick.
Food & Drink
The restaurants at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes include La Palme d’Or, a Michelin-starred restaurant. Le Relais Martinez, a brasserie-style restaurant known for its vibrant atmosphere and classic French cuisine, the beach club restaurant, and The Martinez Bar, a chic and sophisticated venue where guests can unwind with expertly crafted cocktails, premium spirits, and fine wines.
Le Sud is the main restaurant that recaptures the friendly and joyful spirit of the Roaring Twenties in an elegant and contemporary setting. It offers innovative cuisine infused with Mediterranean influences, and its interior decor is inspired by the spirit of yachting. It has an outdoor terrace, bathed in the gentle sunlight, and provides an idyllic space to indulge in the splendor of the surrounding lush garden.
Conclusion
When we reviewed this hotel, we stayed at the Carlton Cannes, just a few buildings up the Croisette from The Martinez. The contrast between the decor of these hotels was stark. Both hotels are sophisticated with The Carlton offering Belle Epoch detailing and The Martinez offering an Art Deco look. We have compared The Carlton Cannes Vs. The Martinez separately.
The Martinez Cannes does not match up to The Carlton in the level of luxury, and if I needed to find a hotel to burn some Hyatt points, The Martinez certainly has the location and luxury setting.
