The Grand Hyatt, SLS, and Rosewood Baha Mar are all luxury hotels in the Bahamas. They are all based in the same resort complex, with the Rosewood pitched as the most luxurious of these three properties. This resort complex offers superb beaches and pools and a plethora of facilities, restaurants, and water sports shared by the three hotels. Worth noting, the Rosewood has its own exclusive patch of sand, which guests of the other Baha Mar properties can’t access. We outline the differences between these hotels below to help you determine which of these you should choose.
1. Best Location: Grand Hyatt Vs. SLS Vs. Rosewood Baha Mar
All three hotels, Grand Hyatt, SLS, and Rosewood, are part of the expansive Baha Mar resort complex on Nassau’s renowned Cable Beach in the Bahamas and a 15-minute drive from Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). This huge resort (1,000 acres in size) offers guests access to a wealth of shared amenities and experiences.
Numerous restaurants are available, the largest casino in the Caribbean sits within this resort, and a 15-acre Baha Bay water park with huge slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool is nearby. Stingray Cove is the best option if you have a young family, and all these facilities are within walking distance of all three hotels.
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar comprises two huge white towers centrally located within the Baha Mar complex. The Grand Hyatt offers easy access to the resort’s extensive facilities. Its central position makes it ideal for guests looking to be at the heart of the action, with a lively atmosphere. This hotel is particularly good for families and those on a tighter budget.
SLS Baha Mar is positioned towards the resort’s eastern edge, shunted by the Wyndham Hotel and Casino and Meliá property. It provides a chic, trendy vibe focusing on stylish design and a vibrant social scene. It is located in a flamingo-pink high-rise building and has a stylish foyer. It appeals to younger party-loving travelers seeking a more dynamic and fashionable experience. It offers access to exclusive pool parties, upscale nightlife, and trendy dining venues.
Rosewood Baha Mar is the best resort for luxury travelers. Situated at the westernmost part of the Baha Mar complex, it offers a more secluded and luxurious environment, focusing on privacy and exclusivity. Its location provides a tranquil retreat with lush gardens, private beach access, and a serene atmosphere, appealing to guests seeking a more refined and intimate experience while still having access to the broader resort amenities.
2. Style & Character
The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar feels like a huge Hyatt, blending contemporary design and subtle Bahamian influences. It is huge, with around 1,800 guest rooms, making it one of the largest hotels in the Baha Mar resort complex. It feels large and a little bland but is well-kept and well-staffed. Open spaces are elegantly decorated with modern furnishings and vibrant artwork. The hotel is all about giving you access to wonderful facilities, including multiple dining options.
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Or Atlantis Which Is Better For Families?
The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and Atlantis Paradise Island are both family-friendly resorts in the Bahamas with brilliant facilities. We investigate which is the better choice. Grand Hyatt, SLS, and Rosewood, which we have compared separately, are part of the expansive Baha Mar resort complex on Nassau's renowned Cable Beach in the Bahamas and a 15-minute drive from Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). This huge resort (1,000 acres in size) offers guests access to a wealth of shared amenities and experiences.
The SLS Baha Mar is known for its trendy, avant-garde style that exudes a youthful and energetic vibe. The hotel’s design features dangly light fittings and really stylish decor but the staff lack the warmth you might expect from a luxury hotel, and the stunning decor can be a little rough around the edges when you look closely. The attention to detail is lacking at this hotel even though the look is great. SLS is characterized by its lively social scene, SLS attracts a fashionable crowd looking for a stylish and vibrant experience. The hotel is home to upscale nightlife, trendy bars, and unique dining venues, making it the go-to destination for guests seeking a glamorous and modern stay focusing on entertainment and socializing.
The 226-room Rosewood Baha Mar epitomizes timeless elegance and luxury with a refined, classic style incorporating sophisticated Bahamian elements. The hotel’s design showcases rich textures, bespoke furnishings, and an emphasis on natural materials, creating an atmosphere of understated opulence. Rosewood’s character is defined by its dedication to providing an intimate and exclusive experience with personalized service and attention to detail. We love the numerous hidden rooms, like the Library, which feels like the library of a colonial mansion and offers a peaceful place to retire for a coffee or a cake.
The Manor bar is another treat. This bar feels like a historic cigar lounge and is very sophisticated. We also love their Tingum on the Sand cafe, which serves breakfast and snacks right on the sand, so you can sit with your smoothie or avocado toast and dig your toes into the sandy shoreline. This cafe is in a tranquil area of the beach and is a great place to hang out with a book. The Rosewood is a tranquil retreat that appeals to discerning travelers seeking a serene and luxurious escape, complete with private beach access, lush gardens, and a serene ambiance.
In summary, the Grand Hyatt offers a bland look but is well cared for. SLS presents a trendy and lively atmosphere but somehow lacks love in both design and maintenance. It’s definitely a party hotel. The Rosewood is our favorite and provides a refined and tranquil luxury experience.
Best Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts In The World
The best Four Seasons hotels & resorts in the world include Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, Four Seasons Lanai and Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii, Four Seasons Surf Club on Miami Beach, Four Seasons Costa Rica, Four Seasons Los Cabos At Costa Palmas, Four Seasons Palm Beach, and Four Seasons Hampshire. To be honest, we wanted to include several other properties in this article, but we would have to stray into the realms of the top 20 or 30 or even top 100 properties to include all our favorite Four Seasons hotels. There are just so many great ones!
3. Pools
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar boasts an impressive array of pools, offering something for everyone. With several large, resort-style pools, including an exciting water park and an activity pool, it’s ideal for families and guests seeking a wide range of aquatic experiences. The pools are beautifully designed with lush landscaping, swim-up bars, and numerous lounging areas. The resort’s central pool area features a spectacular ocean view, enhancing the overall experience.
SLS Baha Mar pools are known for their chic, stylish design and vibrant social scene. The Privilege Pool, in particular, is famous for its lively pool parties, DJ sets, and fashionable ambiance, attracting a younger, trendier crowd. In reality, a lot of drinking goes on by this shallow pool, and parties run through every Thursday through Sunday, starting in the late afternoon. Expect loud music and alcohol. The Bungalow Pool Bar & Grill is the other pool at SLS.
The Rosewood pools provide a more tranquil and exclusive pool experience in a jungly setting. You can see their gorgeous freeform pool pictured above. The adult-only Quiet Pool offers a peaceful retreat with a sophisticated atmosphere, quite the opposite of the pools at the SLS. This pool is surrounded by lush gardens and elegant cabanas. The Lagoon Pool at the Rosewood caters to families, providing a serene environment with luxurious loungers and attentive poolside service. The Rosewood’s pool areas are designed with privacy and relaxation in mind, making them ideal for guests seeking a high-end, restful experience.
The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar stands out for its variety of pools and family-friendly features. The SLS Baha Mar provides a trendy, lively pool scene perfect for socializing and entertainment, but not so great if you don’t want to party and dislike noise, while the Rosewood Baha Mar offers the most luxurious and serene pool settings that you can’t access if you’re staying at the other resorts. You can access the Hyatt’s pools and water park if you’re staying at the Rosewood, so you have access to both the Rosewood’s exclusive pools here and also the other fun family pools.
Best Four Seasons In The Caribbean: Ocean Club Bahamas Vs Nevis Vs Anguilla
Four Seasons has three exclusive hotels in the Caribbean, Four Seasons Resort Nevis Vs. Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla Vs. the newly opened The Ocean Club, Bahamas, A Four Seasons Resort, but which is the best in the Caribbean? Four Seasons has had a presence in the Caribbean for more than 25 years, having operated Four Seasons Resort Nevis since 1990. Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Anguilla was the second resort in the company’s Caribbean collection. The Ocean Club, Bahamas, A Four Seasons Resort is the third.
4. Beach
All three hotels have access to the same beach, but some bits of the beach are separated off. There’s a Rosewood section of Cable Beach, which isn’t open to other Baha Mar visitors, and is a tranquil and exclusive patch of sand with white and cream loungers.
5. Rooms
The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar rooms are spacious and modern, featuring contemporary furnishings and amenities. With a focus on comfort and functionality. There is nothing special about these rooms but they are functional and provide everything you would expect from a Grand Hyatt hotel. Many rooms at the Grand Hyatt offer stunning views of the ocean or resort grounds.
The rooms at SLS Baha Mar are known for their trendy and stylish design, featuring bold murals, sleek furnishings, and artistic touches. While the design looks good, the bathroom design is a bit odd with rainbow lighting in the bathroom and a sink that is too shallow. Toiletries here are decent and by Ciel Reserve. The hotel offers a range of room categories, including suites and penthouses, for guests seeking a more luxurious stay. While the bedroom here looks nicer than the room at the Hyatt, the Hyatt rooms, although bland, are more functional.
Best Bahamas Resort: Four Seasons Ocean Club Vs. Rosewood Baha Mar
The Four Seasons Ocean Club and Rosewood Baha Mar are luxury hotels in the Bahamas, known for their superb beaches, upscale amenities and exceptional service. We outline the differences between these hotels below to help you determine which of these you should choose. The Rosewood Baha Mar boasts the best location for facilities compared to the Four Seasons Ocean Club, but it does feel built up and almost urban in comparison.
The rooms at Rosewood Baha Mar are the best of these three hotels and epitomize luxury and sophistication, featuring elegant furnishings, colonial-style wooden wall detailing, dark wood floors, four poster beds, and a marine color palette. Even the base rooms here are large, and the decor feels almost historic even though the rooms are actually found in a very modern building. Details such as dangly lights, backlit cabinets, and a living area with a large sofa beside the bed mean that these rooms are large and luxurious enough to spend a decent amount of time in. The bathrooms here are huge and a Four Seasons style with double sinks and separate toilet and shower cubicles separated by frosted glass. Bath products are by Maison Caulieres.
6. Price
The three hotels have different price points. The Grand Hyatt is the cheapest, the SLS is next, and the Rosewood is the most expensive. The Rosewood is the only hotel at Baha Mar that we consider truly luxurious in terms of rooms, pools, and service. The SLS and Grand Hyatt remain great hotels but are very different. Only go to the SLS if you want to party. If you don’t want to party, the Rosewood is the best, but the Grand Hyatt is a great price for access to such a large and brilliant resort area.
The cheapest time to visit these hotels is during the hurricane season, from late summer to late fall. Obviously there is the risk of hurricanes at this time of year but assuming you avoid the hurricanes, the days can be much greyer and cloudier at this time of year so it is a risk. The bonus is the lower prices. Even the Rosewood starts at just $700 exc taxes and fees. The Grand Hyatt and SLS come in much cheaper.

10 Least Expensive Four Seasons Hotels In The World
Some of the most expensive Four Seasons hotels, and possibly the most amazing in historic glamor, are also some of the cheapest if you book in low season. Equally, some lesser-known cities like Budapest offer wonderful Four Seasons hotels at incredibly low rates. The Four Seasons brand of hotels doesn’t discount its rooms, but you can sometimes buy a packaged-up break with free nights. Equally, if you book on unpopular nights, such as winter weekends in European cities, or Sunday nights at hotels like Four Seasons Hampshire, you can pick up a much cheaper room rate.
6. Conclusion
The Grand Hyatt has great pools, facilities, and a beach. It is exactly what you would expect from a Grand Hyatt, but the pools here make this an exceptional property for families. The waterpark at Baha Mar has superb slides and a lazy river.
The SLS is not family-friendly and is aimed at partyiers. If you stay here, you can access the SLS’s two pools and the Grand Hyatt pools but not the Rosewood’s pools. Be aware that the SLS is very noisy from Thursday through Sunday. If you are not there to party, you may find the noise intrusive.
The Rosewood is a tranquil retreat that appeals to discerning travelers seeking a serene and luxurious escape, complete with private beach access, lush gardens, and a serene ambiance. The Rosewood is our favorite hotel at Baha Mar.
