The growing collection of Four Seasons properties in Mexico includes Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol, Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, and Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City. Some are featured in our best Four Seasons hotels in the world.
We have detailed all these hotels below and although it’s hard to pick which is best, we have outlined why we particularly like each of these hotels, and why you might want to stay in them.
1. Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas
Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is situated on the Baja Peninsula. This newer Four Seasons property boasts a pristine beachfront location and contemporary design. The idyllic setting at the base of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains also offers endless opportunities for land adventure, from hiking, biking, and horseback riding to exploring waterfalls, spring-fed freshwater pools, and hot springs.
This hotel has received rave reviews from clients of our luxury travel concierge and is just 45 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) but a world away from the Cabo crowds. The extensive grounds of the resort are connected to an adjacent yachting marina, complete with artisanal boutiques, additional dining options, and locally-curated music and art.
The East Cape’s location of this Four Seasons, on the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Sea of Cortez, makes for excellent snorkeling and diving, some of the world’s best light tackle and sport fishing, and world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding.
Four Seasons Los Cabos At Costa Palmas encompasses over two miles of beach, and this beach is much, much calmer than the beach facing the Pacific, which is often unusable. This is why we think this is the best luxury hotel in Los Cabos Vs. Las Ventanas or One & Only Palmilla . Add in the views of the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range, which the resort is designed to take advantage of, and you will be hard-pressed to find a more ridiculously romantic luxury hotel in Los Cabos or the world.
Breakfast at any Four Seasons hotel is always a highlight, and it is served at the resort’s main restaurant, Estiatorio Milos, known for its sophisticated ambiance and stunning views of the Sea of Cortez.
Best Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts In The World
The best Four Seasons hotels & resorts in the world include Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, Four Seasons Lanai and Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii, Four Seasons Surf Club on Miami Beach, Four Seasons Costa Rica, Four Seasons Los Cabos At Costa Palmas, Four Seasons Palm Beach, and Four Seasons Hampshire. To be honest, we wanted to include several other properties in this article, but we would have to stray into the realms of the top 20 or 30 or even top 100 properties to include all our favorite Four Seasons hotels. There are just so many great ones!
The breakfast menu features many options, from fresh tropical fruits, smoothies, and yogurt parfaits to classic Mexican dishes like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. There are also international favorites such as eggs Benedict, pancakes, and freshly baked pastries. The menu caters to health-conscious guests with choices like avocado toast, organic granola, and various gluten-free and vegetarian dishes. Even more importantly, the setting is serene and elegant, with indoor and outdoor seating available. Guests can enjoy their meal on the terrace with breathtaking views of the ocean and the resort’s lush gardens. You will get free benefits and perks, including free breakfast, resort credit, and a prioritized room upgrade if you book your stay at any Four Seasons hotel via our luxury travel concierge.
Our favorite rooms at Four Seasons Los Cabos are on the ground floor and feature private plunge pools. Our client Mike had one of these and said, “We particularly enjoyed the privacy and incredibly easy access to the beach and pool, as well as the plunge pool. We have previously experienced Four Seasons beach resorts in Costa Rica, the Bahamas, and Punta Mita – The Cabo patio/pool/beach access and privacy was the best ever.”
For an other-worldly experience, book an oceanfront plunge pool room, pictured above, and you’ll be able to step barefoot from your bed, out through the patio doors, across the golden sand, and straight into the sea.
Review: Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos
Four Seasons Los Cabos At Costa Palmas is one of the best luxury hotels in Los Cabos. Book your stay at any Four Seasons or other luxury hotel via our luxury travel concierge for extra benefits and perks, including free breakfast, resort credit, and a prioritized room upgrade. In this review, I have combined the comments and reviews from our many clients who have stayed here with our own thoughts to give everyone a full picture of this fabulous resort. It should definitely be added to your bucket list.
2. Four Seasons Resort & Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol on the southern coast of Mexico’s Baja peninsula is unlike its sister property, Four Seasons Los Cabos, which has a remote location on the Baja Peninsula. Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, is instead located in the heart of all the action on Cabo’s Golden Corridor.
Just 30 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and 15 minutes from Cabo San Lucas International Airport (CSL), the private community of Cabo Del Sol is a celebration of Pueblos Mágicos brought to life. It brings together local craftsmanship, art, music, and food, with some of Cabo’s famous shopping, dining, nightlife, and sightseeing mere minutes away.
Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas embraces Mexican charm in its design as a modern hacienda-style village while welcoming the glamour of modern luxury. Set within a vibrant, Riviera-style village showcasing Mexican heritage inspired by Pueblos Mágicos, Mexican towns known for their enchanting qualities, the property offers a singular experience of the popular destination.
The heartbeat of the property, La Casona, is a lively gathering place that welcomes guests and visitors alike. Anchored by a large fireplace, local artwork, and sweeping ocean views, guests are greeted into the living room of La Casona in lieu of the conventional lobby experience. Traditional front and concierge desks are replaced with oversized sofas, and employees forgo uniforms in exchange for chic employee fashion by Mexico City-based designer Kris Goyri.
Welcoming couples, families, and adventure seekers amid the sweeping ocean and mountain backdrop, the expansive grounds offer a constellation of dining options, a well-stocked Kids for All Seasons program, and a private Beach Club. A signature Four Seasons spa and a cutting-edge fitness center will also be available for those yearning to reconnect body and mind.
Along with Four Seasons Resort and Residences, the Cove Club at Cabo Del Sol includes a luxurious, members-only beach club with toes-in-the-sand dining, rare swimmable beaches, beachside fitness, a resort-style pool, and private cabanas; a private golf club on the region’s top golf course; and La Montaña, a thrilling mountain adventure park. Other planned amenities include an organic farm and garden offering true sea- and farm-to-table dining experiences, a family park, signature member services, and an outdoor adventure program.
The best snorkeling sites of the alluring Sea of Cortez are also within quick reach. Swim the pristine aquamarine waters, once termed “the aquarium of the world” by oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, or whale watch for migrating humpbacks and gray whales in season. There are also endless opportunities for desert and mountain adventures, from hiking, biking, and horseback riding to exploring secluded caves and hidden waterfalls.
Review: Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas
The latest Four Seasons coastal gem to open early 2024 is set on the southern coast of Mexico's Baja peninsula. Unlike its sister property Four Seasons Los Cabos, which has a remote location on the Baja Peninsula, Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is located in the heart of all the action on Cabo's Golden Corridor. Cabo San Lucas, situated at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, is where the Pacific Ocean dances with the Sea of Cortez. It's a city known for its stunning coastal landscapes and a warm, inviting climate, making it a year-round destination.
3. Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, Mexico
Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, Mexico, is located on the pristine beaches of the Riviera Nayarit. It offers luxurious accommodations, unparalleled service, and stunning natural surroundings. With its planned eco-friendly design and commitment to sustainability, it promises to be a standout destination for discerning travelers.
This new hotel is located in a secluded enclave along the Pacific Ocean in the state of Jalisco, between the towns of La Manzanilla and Barra de Navidad. The area pictured above, known as “Costalegre” or “Joy Coast,” is acclaimed for its private beaches, lush landscape, and unique topography.
Just 2% of the surrounding 3,000 acre (1,220 hectare) private nature Reserve is being developed, offering endless opportunities for visitors to explore through guided excursions on land and sea.
The property is located only 40 minutes by car from the International Airport of Manzanillo-Costalegre, Mexico. There are daily flights from Mexico City and direct flights during key dates from the United States and Canada.
The resort boasts 157 cliffside and beachfront accommodations, many featuring private pools. It offers guests a luxurious and secluded retreat enveloped by the surrounding jungle and lush golf course. The contemporary architectural and interior design by the firms of LEGORRETA and Taller Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo blend with the natural surroundings and showcase local materials and textures.
The resort is part of the more than 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres) of El Tamarindo’s master-planned development, which features multiple beaches and private coves. The development has been built to take advantage of elevations ranging from sea level to approximately 120 meters (394 feet) above sea level, providing breathtaking views of the landscape, golf course, and ocean.
Resident biologists and researchers lead guests on guided hikes along natural footpaths crafted by indigenous wildlife, traversing jungles and coastlines. Delve into medicinal plants used since pre-Hispanic times, and acquaint yourself with the 70 endemic species and countless birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles that inhabit Tamarindo. Visit the Discovery Centre to deepen your understanding of the region’s biodiversity and the “rewilding” initiatives fostering the resurgence of Earth’s natural rhythms in this locale.
The El Tamarindo Golf Course, long cherished by avid golfers, is part of the Four Seasons resort experience. Designed by David Fleming, the 18-hole links course winds through tropical jungle and along the rocky coastline, offering scenic vistas at every turn.
Indulge in additional resort experiences at the Casa Terrazas pop-up spa, where couples and individuals luxuriate in massages indoors or amidst nature. Relax by the resort pools under the sun or in the seclusion of a private cabana. There is also a Four Seasons kids program, a dedicated program fully supervised for younger guests, and the Escondite teen center for older children.
Review: Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México
If Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, Mexico is not on your radar yet, it should be. This fantastic resort, located in Tamarindo, Mexico, recently opened. There is no Four Seasons rewards program, but if you are a regular guest of the Four Seasons or even want to try this iconic brand for the first time, you can take advantage of loyalty style benefits at Four Seasons hotels for no extra cost by booking your next stay via our luxury travel concierge.
4. Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita
Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is a luxurious resort on the Pacific coast, set in an exclusive resort peninsula shared by luxury villas, a St. Regis and a Conrad resort. It offers stunning ocean views, elegant accommodations, and world-class amenities. Guests can enjoy two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses, a lavish spa, and exceptional dining options.
The best rooms here are the oceanfront plunge pool rooms that are located up a little hillock so that you get cliffside views of the whales passing by and also wonderful sunsets from your terrace. The resort has two glorious beaches, numerous pools including an adults only pool and a lazy river.
The largest differentiator between the Los Cabos Four Seasons hotels and Punta Mita is their design. Punta Mita is a vast and sprawling resort area designed in the 1990s, so its rooms, layout, communal areas, and pathways have a slightly more dated design.
This means that while Punta Mita is a completely stunning resort, we slightly prefer the modern design of the two Los Cabos Four Seasons hotels, which offer stunningly designed, bright rooms, superb beachfront rooms, and more contemporary architecture.
We are, of course, nitpicking, as all three resorts are completely stunning.
Review: Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita
Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is a five-star oceanfront resort. It neighbors Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, an intimate adult-only jungle retreat. Both are set on a secluded peninsula on Mexico's Pacific coast. These are undoubtedly two of the best Four Seasons hotels in Mexico. Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is situated in the exclusive Punta Mita area of the Riviera Nayarit, along the pristine Pacific coast of Mexico. This luxurious Resort enjoys a privileged location on a lush, tropical peninsula surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters.
5. Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City
Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City is located in the heart of Mexico City’s vibrant Polanco district. This urban oasis offers elegant rooms and suites, fine dining options, and top-notch service. Guests can explore the city’s cultural attractions, dine at world-renowned restaurants, and experience Mexico’s capital’s rich history and vibrant energy.
The hotel boasts 240 spacious and elegantly designed rooms. Its location is a major highlight, as it is within walking distance of Chapultepec Park and the neighborhoods of Polanco and Condesa. This provides easy access to some of the city’s best museums, galleries, and restaurants, ensuring that guests can fully immerse themselves in Mexico City’s rich culture and history.
The Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City offers a wide range of amenities, including two restaurants, a rooftop pool, a jacuzzi, a spa, and a gym. The executive suites are particularly impressive, featuring a TV screen in the bathroom mirror, allowing guests to enjoy entertainment from the comfort of a warm bath.
The hotel’s design pays homage to Mexico’s rich heritage, with traditional inner courtyards adorned with fountains and lush greenery. The rooms are adorned in grey, beige, and red hues, with plush carpets and leather features, exuding a sense of luxury and comfort.
Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City is completely different from the other Mexican Four Seasons as it is a city based property. There is no beachside location here but if you are heading to Mexico City this hotel is, in our opinion, the absolutely best place to stay.
