Which is the best Hyatt hotel in Denver, Colorado, for earning or spending your World Of Hyatt points? Grand Hyatt Denver Vs. Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center.
To start with, both the Grand Hyatt and the Hyatt Regency are better-than-average Hyatt hotels. This means that both are great choices.
The Grand Hyatt Denver is located in the heart of downtown Denver, one block from the 16th Street Mall and minutes to Coors Field and Broncos Stadium at Mile High Stadium.
On the hotel’s roof, you will find an open-air tennis court and running track. This is really unusual and great if you like sports. There is also an indoor pool.
The club lounge here is on the 26th floor and offers fantastic views of downtown and the mountains in the distance.
Breakfast, which is free in the club lounge, is generous here. Although there are limited hot options and no hot eggs or bacon, you can enjoy hot oatmeal with sauces. You have your usual juices, bread, coffee, tea, and other breakfast items, including pastries, muffins, cereals, danishes, and cold cuts.
In the evenings, the club lounge offers food, cold cuts, smoked salmon and light bites, and discounted self-serve drinks, which cost around $3 USD for a glass of wine and $5 USD for a cocktail.
Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center is one block from the 16th Street Mall and walking distance from the Convention Center. It is very close to the Westin and the Sheraton Denver Downtown.
This hotel is huge; 1,100 rooms and 59 suites offer impressive views of downtown Denver, the State Capitol, or the Rocky Mountains. One highlight is the 27th-floor Peaks Lounge, which is the highest-rising lounge in the city with spectacular Rocky Mountain views.
The Regency Club can be accessed if you are a World of Hyatt Globalist or book a club room. Breakfast is very good here, and the evening offering at happy hour includes cold cuts, veggies, bread, smoked salmon, cheeses, and a hot dish like Mexican-styled meat, along with discounted self-serve drinks, which cost around $3 USD for a glass of wine and $5 USD for a cocktail.
Other Hyatts in Colorado include the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, which does not have a club lounge; the Grand Hyatt Vail for skiing near Gore Creek in Lionshead Village; Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center, which has an outdoor pool, Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, 13 miles south of Denver; near Belleview Light Rail station, Hyatt Place Denver/ Westminster (no club lounge) perfectly placed between Boulder and Denver, Hyatt Place Denver/Cherry Creek (no club lounge), Hyatt Place Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods (no club lounge) and Hyatt Place Denver Downtown (no club lounge).

1. Best For Ambience: Hyatt Grand Vs Regency
The Hyatt Regency is a very large convention center hotel and feels like a big convention hotel, with many guests visiting purely for conferences. But, at the time of writing, the Hyatt Regency is far newer than the Grand Hyatt, which was the original Hyatt Regency in Denver and dates to around 1990.
Conversely, the Grand Hyatt feels more intimate, almost boutique, making it preferable for a leisure trip.
2. Location
Concerning location, the hotels are super close to each other, 2 blocks apart. The Grand is a couple of blocks inside the heart of downtown Vs. the Regency, which is further out and next to the convention center, on the edge of downtown. The Grand is in a better location unless you need to be at the conference center.
3. Loyalty
If you are a Globalist, you will almost always get a free upgrade at the Grand Hyatt to an excellent suite, but the Regency is also good at upgrading, and Globalists tend to get free upgrades to executive suites.
4. Club Lounge
The Grand Club lounge experience is excellent, with incredible staff, and this lounge is rarely too busy. The Regency Club is also excellent but has a more conference feel in the guests. Both lounges are featured in our best club lounges in Denver.
5. Bars & Restaurants
The Regency has a better choice of bars and restaurants that stay open later than the smaller selection at the Grand.
6. Best Overall
Overall, the Grand lounge, ambiance, and more boutique feel mean that it probably has the edge, so if the price is the same, this is usually the one to go for. However, if the Regency is cheaper, you will enjoy your stay there too and should choose the Regency as the Grand isn’t that much better.
