When choosing between the Four Seasons Resort and The Breakers in Palm Beach, both are highly regarded for their luxurious offerings but cater to slightly different tastes. Our favorite is the Four Seasons, as it feels more boutique and intimate, and its rooms are nicer. The Breakers is a sprawling resort with all the amenities you could possibly want, but it lacks the atmosphere of the Four Seasons. Find out more about how these two beachfront resorts compare below.
1. Best Location: Four Seasons Vs. The Breakers Palm Beach
Palm Beach is a place where palms form a portal to a warm, blue ocean. It is also recognized as a beautiful place for the rich to retire and offers ludicrously expensive mansions. The area boasts a rich history, with landmarks like The Breakers, an oceanfront resort that dates back to 1896, and the Flagler Museum, which showcases the area’s historical significance.
Both Four Seasons Palm Beach and The Breakers offer prime beachfront locations in Palm Beach, Florida, providing guests with stunning ocean views and easy access to the pristine sands of the Atlantic coastline. Both resorts are conveniently located near Palm Beach’s shopping, dining, and cultural attractions.
Four Seasons Palm Beach is one of the best Four Seasons hotels in Florida and is situated on a more secluded stretch of beach, offering a tranquil and intimate setting for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The Breakers is located on a larger oceanfront property with a half-mile private beach, providing guests with a vibrant atmosphere and a wide range of beachside amenities and activities.
2. Style & Character
Four Seasons offers a beachfront paradise dotted by palm trees, with the shadows from their fronds patterning the beach and the decor in the rooms. Luxury loungers flank the pool, and perfect turquoise and white parasols shade the pastel turquoise loungers that laze on the sand. This is a world of sandy yellows, sea blues, and palm greens. Take off your shoes, pad out across the sand barefoot, and take a dip in the crystal clear waters. The Four Seasons Palm Beach is your perfect beach resort. It’s exactly how you imagine it would be, but better!
The Breakers is steeped in history. Its sprawling 140-acre resort feels more like a Renaissance palace. It boasts five swimming pools, two 18-hole golf courses, and 10 tennis courts.
The Breakers has a long-standing reputation and has been a favorite among the Palm Beach elite for generations. It offers a wide array of high-end features and charming rooms. Its historical significance and old-world luxury atmosphere make it a unique choice for those who appreciate a touch of classic elegance.

The Miami Surfside property is the one to pick for your vacation, as it is an amazing hotel oozing history and beachside fun, with a dreamy pool and excellent bars and restaurants.
3. Facilities
The Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach is a luxurious beachfront resort that offers a range of top-tier amenities. It features two gorgeous oceanfront pools, an expansive beach, and a restaurant and bar built in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco. These facilities are the pillars of the resort, providing guests with a blend of relaxation, fine dining, and entertainment.
The resort is boutique when compared to The Breakers. It has just 210 rooms, including Ocean Terrace Suites, that accommodate up to five guests. It is located on Palm Beach Island’s most beautiful and expansive beach along the Atlantic Ocean. Guests can enjoy complimentary beach services like frozen fruit, smoothies, and sun protection.
The resort offers access to a spa and fitness center for those looking to stay active or indulge in pampering. The 11,000 ft² spa includes 11 treatment rooms, a eucalyptus steam room, a whirlpool, and relaxation areas. It is known for its rejuvenating therapies, inspired by local, natural ingredients.
The Breakers Palm Beach features 538 guest rooms and suites, making it much larger than the Four Seasons. It’s set amidst 140 acres of oceanfront property in Palm Beach. This is a big hotel, and it feels like a big hotel. Its size means that it has a plethora of facilities.
Four Seasons Or Breakers Or Eau Palm Peach - We Share The Best Hotel
Four Seasons, Breakers, and Eau Palm Peach are all luxury hotels in glorious Palm Beach, but which is best? We think Four Seasons beats the other two hands down. It is an intimate boutique hotel compared to Breakers, and it has warm staff and wonderful food right on the palm-spread sandy shoreline. However, we investigate in more detail below to share exactly why we prefer Four Seasons.
The Breakers boasts a half-mile private beach along the Atlantic Ocean, where guests can relax on lounge chairs or enjoy water sports activities. Additionally, the resort offers multiple swimming pools, including an oceanfront infinity pool and an adults-only pool, surrounded by lush tropical gardens.
The Breakers is an ideal destination for weddings, conferences, and special events, with over 80,000 ft² feet of event space, including ballrooms, meeting rooms, and outdoor venues. This hotel is huge!
Golf enthusiasts can tee off at the resort’s championship golf courses, which feature meticulously manicured fairways and stunning ocean views.
The resort’s luxurious spa offers a wide range of rejuvenating treatments, including massages, facials, and body wraps. Guests can also stay active at the state-of-the-art fitness center, which is equipped with cardio and strength-training equipment and offers fitness classes.
From tennis courts and water sports to bike rentals and nature walks, The Breakers provides an abundance of recreational activities for guests of all ages to enjoy.
Best Club Or Executive Lounge In Palm Beach
Which is the best club or executive lounge at the best luxury hotels in Palm Beach? Usually, the Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental offers the best club lounge in a city or resort, but there does not appear to be a club lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Singer Island, Palm Beach, and there is no InterContinental. You are, therefore left with a rather limited selection of hotels in Palm Beach with club lounges, which I have outlined below. If you're a luxury traveler, we recommend trying the impressive Four Seasons Palm Beach.
4. Rooms
All Four Seasons Palm Beach rooms are large and offer terraces or balconies. Their pastel decor feels bright and modern, and they all have a classic and generous Four Seasons bathroom. We prefer the rooms here.
The rooms at the Breakers feel less stylish. Some have balconies, but some do not. The ones with balconies are much brighter because of their larger windows.
5. Food & Drink
The Four Seasons is praised for its elegance and collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco, highlighting its commitment to providing top-tier dining experiences.
The Breakers offers a huge number of restaurants, including fine dining restaurants, casual eateries, and chic bars and lounges, serving everything from gourmet cuisine to beachside bites.
If you book either of these hotels via our luxury travel concierge you will get free breakfast at both these hotels along with priority room upgrades and hotel credit.
6. Conclusion
If you’re looking for a more modern and culinary-focused experience on a picture-perfect palm-fringed beach, the Four Seasons is the right choice for you. It’s our favorite, but if you’re drawn to the historical charm and extensive amenities of a sprawling beach resort, you may prefer The Breakers.
