Book A Hotel

Four Seasons Anguilla and Malliouhana are both luxury resorts located on the island of Anguilla, known for their stunning beaches, upscale amenities, and exceptional service. We outline the differences between these resorts below to help you work out which of these you should choose.

1. Best Location: Four Seasons Anguilla Vs. Malliouhana

Four Seasons Anguilla is one of the best Four Seasons in the Caribbean, located on Barnes Bay and Meads Bay, offers a lively atmosphere with access to a variety of dining options and activities, ideal for those seeking both relaxation and entertainment.

Malliouhana, nestled on a picturesque bluff overlooking the other end of Meads Bay to Four Seasons Anguilla. Perched majestically above the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea, the resort offers panoramic views of the coastline and neighboring islands.

Its elevated position provides guests with a sense of exclusivity and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of larger resorts. With direct access to the pristine sands of Meads Bay below, guests can easily transition from lounging on the bluff’s edge to strolling along the soft, white sands or taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters.

As both hotels are on the same beach, with Four Seasons on the peninsula that juts out between Barnes Bay and Meads Bay, there is little to choose between the location of these hotels. They are, however, some distance from each other, taking around a 30-minute walk to get from one to the other.

2. Style & Character

Four Seasons Anguilla showcases a modern, sleek design with contemporary luxury and stylish interiors, offering a refined and polished ambiance.

Four Seasons Anguilla Vs. Cap Juluca. Which Is The Better Resort?

Tips

Four Seasons Anguilla and Cap Juluca are both luxury resorts located on the island of Anguilla, known for their stunning beaches, upscale amenities, and exceptional service. However, they offer distinct experiences and atmospheres, and we outline the differences between these resorts below to help you discern which of these you should choose.

Malliouhana feels like an old plantation mansion and is built on the edge of a buff, surrounded by little coves. It has a very Caribbean feel to it, and many of the rooms are on the edge of the ocean. It is more boutique in size and design than the Four Seasons but the decor in the rooms feels more traditional hotel rather than Four Seasons chic.

3. Beach

The beaches surrounding both the Four Seasons and Malliouhana embody the epitome of Caribbean paradise. Four Seasons Anguilla boasts access to two beaches—Barnes Bay and Meads Bay—each offering diverse beach experiences with soft sand and opportunities for various water activities. We particularly love the beach by the sunset lounge at Four Seasons as it is so stunning.

Guests at Malliouhana also have direct beach access from the resort. Guests are greeted by soft, powdery sands stretching miles along the shoreline. Meads Bay, in particular, captivates with its pristine beauty and crystal-clear turquoise waters.

Each beach offers ample space for relaxation and recreation, whether lounging under swaying palm trees, taking leisurely walks along the water’s edge, or engaging in water sports activities such as snorkeling, paddleboarding, or kayaking.

4. Pools

Four Seasons Anguilla offers several pools, including the Sunset Pool with panoramic ocean views, the family-friendly Bamboo Pool, and the adults-only Aleta Pool. These pools tick all the boxes whether you are a family or whether you want to avoid children.

Malliouhana’s pool offers stunning views overlooking Meads Bay and the Caribbean Sea. The resort’s smaller size fosters a sense of exclusivity around the pool, creating a more intimate and boutique experience for guests.

5. Rooms

Four Seasons Anguilla offers a variety of stylishly modern rooms, suites, and villas, all designed with contemporary chic with neutral tones and equipped with high-end amenities. These accommodations often include private plunge pools, expansive terraces, and wonderful ocean views, although no room is directly oceanfront here.

Malliouhana blends classic sophistication and old-fashioned Caribbean charm. Each room is thoughtfully designed to capture the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Beach Front Premium Rooms are the rooms to go for if you can stretch to them as these are newly refurbished and down lower the hillside right on the ocean on the cove between Malli and Carimar.

Ultimately, the best choice depends on whether you prefer the modern luxury and sleek aesthetics of Four Seasons Anguilla or the boutique elegance and Caribbean-inspired ambiance of Malliouhana.

Best Four Seasons In The Caribbean: Ocean Club Bahamas Vs Nevis Vs Anguilla

Tips

Four Seasons has three exclusive hotels in the Caribbean, Four Seasons Resort Nevis Vs. Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla Vs. the newly opened The Ocean Club, Bahamas, A Four Seasons Resort, but which is the best in the Caribbean? Four Seasons has had a presence in the Caribbean for more than 25 years, having operated Four Seasons Resort Nevis since 1990. Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Anguilla was the second resort in the company’s Caribbean collection. The Ocean Club, Bahamas, A Four Seasons Resort is the third.

6. Golf

Neither Four Seasons Anguilla nor Malliouhana offers an on-site golf course, as Anguilla is not known for its golfing facilities. However, guests interested in golf can visit the nearby CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa, which features an 18-hole championship course designed by Greg Norman. This course is accessible to guests from both resorts and provides a scenic and challenging golfing experience. Thus, when it comes to golf, there is no significant difference between Four Seasons Anguilla and Cap Juluca, as both rely on the same external golf facility.

7. Price

Generally, Malliouhana tends to be slightly more affordable than Four Seasons Anguilla, although prices vary based on the season, room type, and availability. Both resorts are high-end luxury properties. Neither is particularly cheap.

If you book either of these hotels via our luxury travel concierge, you will get free breakfast at both these hotels along with priority room upgrades and hotel credit, which helps make the overall deal feel more reasonable.

9. Conclusion

The choice between Four Seasons Anguilla and Malliouhana is a difficult one. Both hotels are stunning. If you are looking for glamour and extensive facilities the Four Seasons is a great choice but if you want to feel the soul of Anguilla, Malliouhana is probably your best pick.
