The Four Seasons Hotel and St. Regis in Mexico City are highly regarded for their luxurious offerings but cater to slightly different tastes. Our favorite is the Four Seasons, as it feels like a lush floral escape from the endless concrete of this huge metropolis.
1. Best Location: Four Seasons Vs. St. Regis Mexico City
Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City enjoys a prime location in the upscale neighborhood of Polanco, known for its vibrant culture, fine dining, and high-end shopping. Situated amidst tree-lined streets and elegant boulevards, Polanco offers a sophisticated atmosphere.
The hotel’s central location provides easy access to some of Mexico City’s most iconic landmarks, including Chapultepec Park, the Anthropology Museum, and the historic city center. Additionally, Polanco is home to a diverse array of restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and boutiques, ensuring guests have plenty of options for entertainment and exploration.
St. Regis Mexico City is located in the bustling financial district of Reforma, known for its modern skyscrapers, corporate headquarters, and upscale shopping malls. While Reforma lacks the cultural charm of Polanco, it offers convenience and proximity to major business centers and government buildings.
Guests staying at The St. Regis Mexico City have easy access to the iconic Reforma Avenue, renowned for its historic monuments, art installations, and cultural institutions, including the Angel of Independence and the Museum of Modern Art. The neighborhood also boasts a variety of dining options, ranging from trendy cafes to gourmet restaurants, catering to discerning travelers and local professionals.
Ultimately, the best location between the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City and The St. Regis Mexico City depends on individual preferences but if you are traveling for leisure, Four Seasons location in Polanco offers a more upscale and cultural experience.
2. Style & Character
Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City offers a blend of contemporary elegance and classic charm. The hotel is designed around a beautiful inner courtyard, which provides a tranquil oasis in the heart of the bustling city. The style is timeless, with refined, understated decor that emphasizes comfort and luxury.

The St. Regis Mexico City, on the other hand, exudes a more opulent and contemporary style. Located in the iconic Torre Libertad, the hotel features sleek, modern architecture and luxurious interiors. The design is bold and glamorous, with a focus on high-end finishes, dramatic lighting, and a color palette that combines rich, deep hues with metallic accents.
The rooms are spacious and elegantly appointed, with state-of-the-art technology and sumptuous furnishings that provide a sense of modern grandeur. The St. Regis is known for its bespoke service, epitomized by the signature St. Regis Butler Service, which offers personalized attention to every guest’s needs. 3. Pools
The pool at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City is designed to be an oasis of tranquility in the bustling city. Located in a serene courtyard surrounded by lush greenery and red-padded loungers, this outdoor pool offers a relaxing and intimate environment. From our research, very few hotels in Mexico City have pools, and if they do, like the St. Regis and the Ritz-Carlton, they are indoor and small.
The Four Seasons pool is outdoor and a decent size. It is surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and shaded areas where guests can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The pool area has the usual exceptional, attentive service, providing towels, and refreshments.
In contrast, the pool at the St. Regis Mexico City is on the 15th floor, providing stunning panoramic views of the city skyline. This indoor pool offers a luxurious and modern setting, with large windows that flood the area with natural light. The sleek and contemporary design has comfortable seating and a sophisticated ambiance. The pool area also features a Jacuzzi right by the windows and takes advantage of the views. It is, however, worth mentioning that this pool area is fairly small and surrounded by rattan seats and a cushioned bench along the wall. There are few loungers around this pool as there isn’t the space.
Bottom line, if you want to lounge by the pool, pick the Four Seasons as the St. Regis pool is lovely but small and in a small room so there’s no room to lounge.
